Le fonctionnement du dispositif de com mande du brûleur à gaz décrit ci-dessus est fort ;simple. En effet, pour allumer le brûleur, il suf- fit 1 d'ouvrir da vanne d'arrêt de la veil leuse en manceuvrant la manette 14, puis d'al lumer la veiâleuse; 2 d'actionner le poussoir 34, afin d'ame ner l'armature mobile 37 au collage;
Control device for gas burner. The present invention relates to a control device for a gas burner comprising, a pilot intended to be supplied with gas via a shut-off valve, a ramp intended to be supplied with gas via the intermediary. a (read flow rate adjustment device, a control valve and a safety device preventing the flow of gas when the pilot is. reached.
This device differs from known positive devices of this type by the fact that it comprises a body having an inlet orifice intended to be connected to a gas distribution pipe, an outlet orifice. to which the burner ramp is connected and. a pilot supply port, this body also carrying the adjustment device, the control valve for the gas supply to the rail, the shut-off valve controlling the gas supply to the pilot leuse, and the safety device.
The accompanying drawing shows, schematically and by way of example, soot embodiment (read control device.
Fig. 1 is a sectional view thereof. The, fig. 2 is a perspective view.
The device shown in the drawing com carries a body 1 carrying all the maneuvering and safety members necessary for the operation of the gas burner 2. This body com carries a supply orifice 3 intended to be connected to a gas distribution network. . This orifice communicates with a channel 4 by means of a device for adjusting its flow rate consisting of a screw R, the position of which determines the passage section between the orifice 3 and the channel 4.
This channel 4 is connected, on the one hand, with a pilot light 5 and, on the other hand, with the ramp 2. The supply line of the pilot light comprises a duct 6 provided with a shut-off valve and connects the channel 4 to a chamber 8, provided with an orifice (not shown). to receive the pilot light 5. The stop valve comprises a seat 9 on which is applied a ball 1.0 by means of a spring 11 engaged on a control rod 12 and bearing on the bottom of a plug 13.
The latter comprises an axial bore serving as a guide for the control rod which carries, rigidly fixed on its free end, a net ma 14, the operation of which causes the opening, respectively the closing of the stop valve. An angular displacement of this lever from the position shown in FIG. 1 forces the ball 10 to leave its seat 9. The lever 14 is locked in its two open and closed positions by a rod 40 penetrating the recesses 41. cut into the underside 15 of the net.
The gas supply pipe to the rail 2 comprises a channel 16 connected, on the one hand, to the channel 4 by a control valve and, on the other hand, to a chamber 17 by a safety valve. The control valve comprises a plate 18 sliding on a guide 19 fixed on a stopper 20: This plate is subjected to the action of a spring 21 tensioning. to keep it in contact with a seat 22. A pusher 23, coaxial with the guide 19 and guided in a bore 24, is connected to a control member 25 by one. spring 26. This control member consists of a pusher coaxial with the guide of the plate 18.
The spring 26 has a stiffer characteristic than the spring 21, but is in the rest position (position shown in the drawing) fully relaxed and in the free state. Thus, for this position, it can have no action on the plate 18 of the control valve. On the other hand, when the control member is actuated, it transmits to the pusher 23 the thrust exerted on the latter. This pusher 23 then comes into contact with the end of a sleeve 27 serving as a guide for the plate 18, and pushes the latter against the action of its spring 21.
A standard type latch (not shown) makes it possible, by angular displacement of the control organ, to maintain the control valve in the open position. The safety valve comprises a plate 28 integral with a rod 29 sliding in a guide 30. This plate is maintained in contact with a seat 31 by a spring 32 bearing on a support 33. The opening of this safety valve is caused manually by means of an actuator consisting of a pusher 34 which slides freely in a guide 35.
On the other hand, this valve is kept in the open position only if the pilot is in operation, by means of an electromagnet 36 whose movable armature 37 is carried by the stem of the safety valve, and whose Winding 38 is powered by a thermocouple 39 housed in a metal tube disposed near the pilot.
The operation of the gas burner control device described above is strong and simple. In fact, to ignite the burner, it suffices 1 to open the pilot burner shut-off valve by operating the handle 14, then turn on the pilot; 2 to actuate the pusher 34, in order to bring the movable armature 37 to bonding;
11a. pilot being alliunée and the solder of the hot thermocouple, the windings 38 are by run by a sufficient current so that the generated magnetic flux maintains the movable arm 37 to the bonding; 31, to open the control valve by exerting a thrust on the control rod 25 and by imparting to it an angular displacement, in order to lock it in the depressed position and thus to maintain the valve. switch in the open position.
With the control valve and the safety valve open, gas enters Chamber 17, flows through the orifices of rail 2 and ignites on contact with the pilot flame. The control rod 25 can. be operated manually or by a relay controlled by a thermostat. In the latter case, the burner is started and turned off automatically by variations in the temperature of the heated room or of the hot water circuit.
However, it can happen, for a fortuitous cause, such as a temporary stoppage of the gas supply, that the pilot light: goes out. In this case, it would be dangerous to leave the controlled relay together with the thermostat to act, because, with the pilot light off,, the gas would flow without burning and could cause serious accidents.
In the 11.e burn @ eiird described above, the action of the relay is automatically canceled by the closing of the safety valve. Indeed, as soon as the pilot light is extinguished, the thermocouple is no longer heated, so that the electro-magnet is no longer energized, the spring 32 causes the closing of the safety valve.
From the above one can. realize that the described control device has full operating safety, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, all its elements and components being mounted and housed in the same body carrying the burner ramp, this body constitutes a control unit out in appearance control of a small volume, easy maintenance and monitoring. In fact, either for the fitter in the factory, or for the fitter or installer, all the control members being assembled on the same body, their work of control and adjustment is greatly facilitated.
An embodiment of the control device has been described here with reference to the accompanying diagrammatic drawings, but it is obvious that all the components and elements described can be replaced without further by their equivalents. In particular, the various standard type valves described can be replaced by other types of standard valves.
