Weft cutter for circular loom. The present invention relates to a weft breaker for a circular loom.
This easse-weft is characterized by a lamp which lights up in the event of a lack (the wire (the weft) and by a photoelectric cell excited by the lighting of the lamp and which then commands the loom to stop.
The exciting lamp of the. The photocell is preferably a neon lamp carried by the shuttle and receiving a passing high frequency current. by a brush integral with the shuttle and sliding on the circular rail serving as a guide for the shuttle and receiving the electrical excitation, said current following a circuit which closes when the weft thread breaks.
The exciting lamp of the. photoelectric cell can be a filament lamp. mounted on the shuttle and receiving the current. of a generator, too. mounted on the boat, through a circuit which closes when the weft thread breaks.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the weft breaking which is the subject of the invention.
lia fil-. 1 is a fragmentary plan view of a first embodiment.
lia fi, () ,. 2 is a corresponding partial vertical section.
Figs. 3 and 4 are similar views showing a second embodiment. The photoelectric cell has only been schematized in FIG. '' so as not to overload the drawing.
In the. first embodiment shown in fia. 1 and 2, the lamp 3 is a neon twinkling lamp arranged at. inside the. shuttle bus. It becomes luminous when only one of its poles is in contact with a source of high frequency current. It is, placed so as to direct its light beam upwards. that is to say towards a photoelectric cell. The photoelectric cell 4 is placed outside the sheet of wires at a point located above the loom, in a region chosen on purpose as poorly lit.
This cell is arranged to act on a controlling amplifier relay. electromagnets which keep the loom in operation. When the cell is. energized, the electromagnets act on the disengagement controls and the attached mechanisms which stop the tissue, uncover the shuttles or other similar organs.
It is possible to install several photoelectric cells instead of one, all of these cells being oriented downwards to capture the excitation sent by the lamp carried by the. shuttle bus.
The shuttle 1 is isolated from a rail 2 that it is not necessary to isolate itself, which is in contact with a high frequency source via a wire. 7. A collector 8, isolated from the shuttle, is provided with a stud 9 which can come into contact with a stud 5 placed on a needle 10. It is on this needle, called the weft breaker needle, that the thread passes. weft 15. When this thread breaks, this needle 10, released, tilts under the action of centrifugal force and the pads 5 and 9 come into contact.
At this time, the high frequency current from rail 2 arrives at the. lamp 3 which begins to shine with intensity. Its shine passes through the upper layer of warp threads and is projected onto cell 4 which acts on relay 11 and stops the loom.
In the second embodiment, the shuttle 1 carries a lamp 3, with filament; walking under 1.5 volts for example. It also carries an electric battery 12, one of the terminals 13 of which is connected to one of the terminals of the lamp 3. The second terminal 14 of the battery is grounded to the shuttle 7, as is the weft breaker lever 10.
The other terminal of the lamp 3 is connected to a terminal 9 which comes into contact. with terminal 5 of the weft breaker lever 10 when the breakage of the weft thread tilts this sink. At this moment, the circuit is closed, the lamp lights up and energizes a suitably arranged photocell.
The weft breakers shown require only one current collector and even suppress it when the generator is carried by the shuttle. It is of course understood, moreover, that other achievements can be imagined. It is possible, for example, to modify the arrangement and the position of the lamps, the position and the shape of the contacts, move the weft-breaker lever, all modifications and the like which, of course, do not go beyond the scope of the present invention.
