Les deux pistons peuvent également se déplacer indépendamment l'un de l'autre. Les deux pt#,tons 1â et 16 sont identiques, niais disposés en sens inverse;
un piton auxiliaire '?0 est séparé (l'un piston 19 coopérant avec l'encre par un tampon 21 en ouate intercalé entre cux. c-e tampon a;-aut une forme annulaire et entoltrant une (lieue ''(),i du liston ?0 formant t11t)i)_eur. Le piawi fl(j;
Par suite, lorsque l'in ,

10---i ein.

The rear end of the reservoir is preferably provided with a flanged closure member closing the reservoir and capable of unfolding to follow the aforesaid piston moving along the reservoir as the pressure decreases. the ink reserve.
A pad of absorbent material may also be disposed behind the aforesaid piston. said buffer being, for example, disposed between the aforesaid piston and a second piston capable of following the latter.
The piston sliding in the reservoir and floating on the surface of the ink forms a practically tight seal with the walls of the reservoir and helps to prevent any ink leakage from the reservoir beyond the float piston so much, and to ensure, save at the writing end of the instrument, the complete separation of the ink from the atmosphere. The presence of a flanged closure element constitutes an additional guarantee, since if the ink accidentally infiltrates beyond the piston, it would still remain retained inside the body of the stylograph.
These characteristics are very advantageous in ballpoint pens generally loaded with viscous inks, because they facilitate the production of a reservoir capable of containing a significant reserve of ink allowing the pen to be used for a prolonged time to reach 2 years, for example, the tank being intended to be filled only by the manufacturer or by an agent and not by the user of the

-great that the difference between the self-weight of the piston and the weight of the volume of ink that it displaces when it is immersed in the latter.
It has been found that for inks such as those whose compositions are given above and which have a density of about 1 g / m2 and a surface tension of about 30 djn per ein,
the density of the piston should be wedged between 98 and 102% of that of the ink for tanks with a circular section of 3.5 1 4.5 min in diameter and between 99 e i t le 1010, 'o of the density (the ink for reservoirs of 4.5 to 6 mm in diameter,
the gap between the piston and the wall of the reservoir being of the order of 0.1 mm or less than this value.
If these conditions are not met and the plunger is heavier than the ink, the udder tends to sink into the ink when the stylograph is held in the position presented to the IRU. 1 (point down), and if it is lighter, it tends to rise in the ink when the stvlographe is held in the reverse position (point up).
Since stylographs are often plus in the second of said positions, that is, tip up. it is preferable (kills the piston is slightly heavier than the ink.
In the embodiment shown in thread. 2, the bag 5 is removed and replaced with a cotton ball 8 or similar absorbent flake material. arranged above (read piston -1, so as to absorb ink which could have accidentally leaked beyond the piston.
This buffer S can be arranged around the protruding inner end of the ventilation tube I, the length of this protruding part being sufficient to engage in the interior of the piston 1 when the latter is in the high position.
I) with the faith-nie of execution (the la fi. 3, the floating piston 1-1 is doubled by an auxiliary piston i placed behind it. We thus make two ink sticks,> , the first being constituted by the chamber 10 formed between the two eyebolts and the second by the chamber 11 formed between the rear piston and the cap or closure plug 3.
These two pistons placed in series can move independently of one another and it may be advantageous to lubricate the second piston 9 by means of a high viscosity lubricant, such as grease ensuring the sealing of the l. 'gap indicated at 1 ?.
Due to the independent movement which the two pistons can take, it is desirable to provide a vent 13 passing through the rear piston 9. The protruding end of the ventilation tube 13 can penetrate into the hollow interior of the floating piston 14 and the The protruding end of the ventilation tube is small to enter the recess of the piston 9.
The fi-. -1 shows another embodiment comprising two pistons, either a floating piston 13 and an auxiliary pin 16, a pad 17 made of wadding or a similar absorbent material being disposed between the two pistons to absorb the ink that may have infiltrated the space (he separates them.
It will be noted that the auxiliary strake 16 has a shoulder, so as to constitute a sharp angle at 18. The ink having succeeded in passing through the pad 17 tends to be stopped by the shoulder 1 ± . In this embodiment, the clearance between piston 1:

The two pistons can also move independently of each other. The two pt #, tones 1â and 16 are identical, but arranged in the opposite direction;

The form of etention of the wire. 6 differs (the embodiments previously described in that the piston ??, instead of floating on the ink when the pen holder is in the unfolded position (as did the pistons -1, 11, 1.3 or 19),
floats here on the ink when the nib holder is in the non-use or transport position and the ink is supplied to the ball 23 in the tip? 6 by capillary action . For this purpose, there is provided a tube 2-1 extending into the reservoir itself to convey the ink to the ball.
