Zweckmässig arbeitet man z.

Process for the neutralization of acidic acid amide-containing mixtures, obtained by rearrangement of oximes. In the known production of loads by Beckmann's rearrangement of oximes using strong acids, maai works preferably with strong or anhydrous sulfuric acid or oleum,
with about equal parts by weight of oxime and acid at temperatures of about 80 to 130 C. To isolate the lactams, the acid is first completely or partially neutralized, preferably in an aqueous solution.
The lactams are water-soluble, but are almost completely separated in concentrated salt solutions, which heals carrion salts. It is therefore advisable to use the acid-dulling agent only with:
enough water to be used that after neutralization a saturated salt solution is present. The lacta, me then deposit on the salt solution as water-containing oils; only a small part remains, still dissolved in the salt solution. and can still be obtained by extraction with organic solvents.
The pure Laetanie are usually obtained from the water-containing products by distillation.
The neutralization has hitherto been carried out in such a way that the liquid was allowed to flow in ice water and the diluted sulfuric acid was then neutralized in the cold, or the redistribution was added to an aqueous solution in the cold with thorough stirring Neutralizing agent until the acid was blunted.
In both cases, lactam losses easily occur, as these substances are easily decomposed in both strongly acidic and alkaline solutions. The decomposition occurs particularly easily at elevated temperature and if the neutralization takes longer.
Both Arbeitswei sen therefore require the maintenance of such low temperatures as can only be achieved by using cold brine. It is more two-dimensional to make the neutralization continuous, that is, to let the rearrangement-efficient and the aqueous neutralizing agent act on each other with a practically neutral reaction,
by allowing the two components to flow into the fully reacted aqueous neutralization mixture with thorough stirring and cooling. Since the rearrangement mixture:
is very viscous liquid, it does not immediately distribute in the aqueous neutralization mixture, so, until it is completely dissolved, it forms acidic and strongly heated zones in which decomposition of the lactam occurs. The proportion of lactam in the neutralization mixture is relatively large with the last neutralization method,
so that there are noticeable effects on Lastani.
It has now been found that significantly better lactam yields are obtained if the continuous production of laetamen is carried out in the manner
that one in the neutralization of the cyelic oxides. The reaction products obtained by means of strong sulfuric acid or oleum recirculate the neutral salt solution formed and separated from the neutralization. The amount of returned neutralization salt solution is appropriate
at least the same as the aqueous neutralizing agent applied at the same time.
The invention thus relates to a process for at least partial neutralization of acidic, acid amide-containing mixtures, obtained by rearrangement of oxides, with a neutralizing agent, which is characterized by:
that one continuously mixes the Umlageinzngslösung except with the neutralizing agent with a saline solution originating from an earlier neutralization.
B. in such a way that the neutralization salt solution, largely freed from lactam, and the aqueous neutralization agent are brought together immediately in the neutralization zone or shortly beforehand and this mixture and. the rearrangement mixture act on each other as finely as possible,
leaves. The neutralization mixture can be drained from the neutralization zone while it is still hot, without the Laetam yield being impaired. The cooling does not need to be done with cold brine, but with cooling water.
It is advantageous to use the neutralization salt solution, which is used to dilute the neutralization components and which has largely been freed from the Laetam, cooled.
The fine distribution and intimate mixing of the components can be achieved by vigorous stirring in a small space or by bringing the two liquid components together in a finely divided state at high speed, e.g. B. by means of nozzles can be achieved.
If one works in such a way that the dissolution with the neutralizing agent takes place in a small room and only a small proportion of Laetam is present in the neutralizing mixture, decomposition of the lactam can be prevented further. Mixing should be complete in the shortest possible time.
The higher the neutralization temperature (which can possibly rise to the boiling point of the mixture), the faster the separated crude inctam should be drawn off. In general, mixing should be complete after 3 to 10 minutes.
Aniseed neutralizing agents are expediently used which, with the sulfuric acid usually used for rearrangement, produce salts that are readily soluble in water, that is, salt solutions of high concentrations. The precipitation of salts during the neutralization is to be avoided as far as possible, since the latams otherwise contain small amounts of suspended salt, which are difficult to separate out again.
Works best. one with such concentrations that almost or completely saturated salt solutions are formed. The neutralization agent used is advantageous. Ammonia, since the solubility of ammonium sulphate in water is quite high and the concentration of the solution can be over 40.7.
You can neutralize to a pH of 3 to 8, expediently to 6.
The mixture flowing out of the neutralization zone can be separated into the oily raw oil and an almost saturated salt solution before or after cooling. Pure Laetam is obtained from the Rohlaetam by vacuum distillation in a yield of about 93ö, based on the im. To store product contained Laetam.
The parts given in the examples below are room skins. Example 1: In a stirred vessel with a capacity of 5 parts with a high-speed stirrer and external cooling, which is adjusted to a useful capacity of 2.5 parts by an overflow with a siphon.
Is., you leave every hour 18.6 parts of a Unilage obtained from C @ -eIo-hexanone oxime with O'leum 40 parts 14.55% ammonia water and 80 parts of a saturated , returned from neutralization. Ammo- niumsi.lfa@tlösung flow in.
Runs through the overflow. Put the neutralization product almost cold and with the pl, = value 6 in a separating vessel. 7.5 g parts of crude oil (specific weight 1.07 at 20 "C) and a saturated ammonium sulfate solution with a stored weight of 1.241 at 20" C are withdrawn from this per hour. Part of the sulfate solution is returned to the neutralization.
The other part of the sulfate solution is extracted with i @ methylene chloride and the extract is evaporated. The entire raw liquor is distilled in vacuo; a pure caprolaretam is obtained in 92.5% yield.
Example 19 parts of a reaction product obtained from cyclohexanone oxime with oleum and having a temperature of about 50 ° C. and a mixture of 40 parts of 14.5% ammonia water of 20 ° C. and 40 parts of saturated ammonium sulfate solution of 30 ° C. recycled from the neutralization "C flow together in an Orifix mixer every hour.
The neutralization product runs at a temperature of SO '> C and a pH value of 7 into a separating vessel, from which 16 parts of R.ohla.ctam are withdrawn every hour. The Ca.prolaetam is obtained in 93% yield by vacuum distillation. The separated ammonium sulfate solution is partly returned to the neutralization system.
Example 3: In the manner described in Example 2, 48 parts per hour of a rearrangement product obtained from suberone oxime with oleum, 100 parts of ammonia water (15%) and 100 parts Parts of the ammonium sulfate solution returned from the neutralization are intimately mixed by flowing together.
The mixture (runs at a temperature of 90 "C and a pjr value of 6.5 into a separating vessel, from which 41 parts of raw lactam with a specific weight of 1.065 (at 20 C) are drawn off every hour. After vacuum distillation of the raw lactam is pure enantholactam was obtained with a yield of 90,510.
