Fig. 1 eine Spritze im Axialschnitt,
The invention relates to an injection syringe with a cylinder ampoule inserted in a housing, the front end of which is secured by a tightly fitting closure part, e.g. B. a stopper and a cap, and the rear end of which is closed by a stopper, the front closure part being pierced by a rearward extension of the Ilohl needle for the purpose of injecting the contents of the ampoule and the rear stopper serving as a piston and being moved in the cylinder by a piston rod . Several syringes of this type are known, but they differ from one another only in the different devices for fastening the ampoules in the syringe housing.
In the previously known cylinder ampoules, the rear stopper always retains the same seal with respect to the glass cylinder. As a result, it cannot fully fulfill one of its two functions, either as a sealing plug or as a piston; because as a closure the stopper should be as tight as possible, immovable on the cylinder wall, while as a piston a slight displacement of the plug in the cylinder should be possible.
According to the invention, means are therefore provided in the present injection syringe to compress the elastic material from which the piston is made in the axial direction and to expand it in the radial direction in order to be able to change the sealing pressure of the piston against the glass cylinder as required.
In most previous syringes of the Carpulle system, the rear stopper, which acts as a piston, can only be moved forward, which is sufficient for a subcutaneous or intramuscular injection. However, the backward movement of the plunger is necessary to suck in liquid, as it has been practically carried out with other types of syringes (inserted glass cylinder with metal or glass plunger) for intravenous injections, blood and liquor withdrawal, punctures etc.
This disadvantage is remedied in one embodiment of the present injection syringe in that a detachable coupling connection is expediently provided between the rear sealing stopper, which serves as a piston, and the piston rod, so that the injection syringe can also be used for sucking in liquid.
Several embodiments of an injection syringe according to the invention are shown in the accompanying drawing, in which
1 shows a syringe in axial section,
Fig. 2 shows a section along the line II-II in Fig. 1 and
Fig. 3 shows a modified embodiment for changing the piston seal.
4 shows a modified embodiment of the rear stopper serving as a piston, in section, and an injection syringe.
Fig. 5 shows a section through a modified front stopper, the contact pressure against the ampoule wall can also be changed.
The injection syringe according to FIGS. 1 and 2 consists of the syringe housing 1, in which the cylinder ampoule, consisting of glass cylinder 4, front closure part 2, z. B. a plug or a cap, and rear plug 3, is used. When the syringe is in use, the front sealing plug 2 is pierced by the rear part of the cannula 6 fixed on the head part 5 of the syringe housing. The ampoule is fixed in the syringe housing 1 by actuating a locking device 8 located in the rear part 7 of the syringe housing and is released again after the syringe has been used.
The rear sealing plug 3, which acts as a cylindrical piston, is penetrated by the shank 9 of a screw bolt, the head 10 of which rests against the front face of the piston or is embedded in the front part thereof. In order to prevent axial rotation of the screw bolt in the piston stopper, an eccentric mandrel 11 is countersunk from the screw head into the piston. The threaded part of the screw shaft protrudes beyond the rear end surface of the piston.
A washer 12 is placed on this and a prismatic structure 13 serving as a screw nut is screwed on.
The side surfaces of this piston nut 13 are provided with two opposing nose-like projections 14. The piston rod 15 is designed as a tube, on the rear part of which the handle 16 is screwed. The front part of the piston rod is slotted up along its length at 17, whereby the two tube parts can be resiliently spread to a small extent. The head parts 18 of the two tube parts are each provided with a claw 19.
The expansion spring is also supported by an annular spring 20 attached to the head part of the piston rod. The spreading is also possible when the piston rod is pulled out of the cylinder as much as possible, since the corresponding rear part 21 of the syringe has play with respect to the rod.
The central guidance of the piston rod is ensured in every position by a guide sleeve 22 screwed onto the rear part of the syringe.
The coupling between piston rod 15 and piston 3 is now achieved in such a way that when the piston rod is pushed forward against the piston in the glass cylinder, the two opposing claws 19 on the head parts 18 of the piston rod 15 as a result of the resilient spreading of the front part of the rod over the projections 14 of the nut 13 Slide over and snap together behind them, supported by the force of the ring spring 20. In this state, the piston 3 in the cylinder 4 can also be withdrawn by means of the piston rod 15 for the purpose of sucking in liquid.
The decoupling takes place by finger pressure on one arm of the two-armed lever 23 on the handle 16 of the piston rod 15. The other lever arm grips a decoupling rod 24 inside the hollow piston rod on its rear part 25 and pushes it forward.
The foremost part of the uncoupling rod is equipped with a lance-shaped tip 26 which, when pushed forward on two inclined planes 27 located in the interior of the piston rod, causes the expansion of the piston rod, which is slotted in the front part, which is necessary for uncoupling. In this situation, the piston rod 15 can be withdrawn with simultaneous detachment from the piston screw nut 13.
After the finger pressure is released on the lever 23, the small spring 28 acting on this lever ensures that the latter returns to its old position and thus the uncoupling rod 24 also slides back again.
The other function of the piston screw is to change the piston tightness. By screwing on the piston screw nut 13, the cylindrical, elastic piston 3 is compressed asially and expands only radially and thus the tight fit of the piston against the glass cylinder wall 4 is strengthened. By unscrewing the piston screw nut 13, the seal is loosened accordingly.
In order to prevent the cylinder 4 from turning when the screw nut 13 is screwed on and off, two opposing spikes 2l are attached to the head part of the syringe, which penetrate into the front stopper 2 when the ampoule is pushed into the syringe housing 1.
3 shows a modified device for changing the piston seal.
The decoupling rod 24 is designed as a tube, which is conically sharpened at its front end for easy spreading of the two parts of the piston rod 15. It takes on a rod 30 inside, which is used to tighten or
Loosening the slotted piston nut 13 is used and for this purpose ends in a cutting tooth 31 that fits the slot. The rear parts of the uncoupling tube 24 and the screw nut rod 30 are housed within the handle 16. The decoupling tube 24 expands at its end into a type of handwheel 32, which is exposed in two opposing recesses in the hollow handle hub and, grasped with thumb and counterfinger, can easily be moved axially.
In its foremost position, the front, sharpened part of the uncoupling tube 24, which in this position has slid over the shoulders 27 protruding inside the piston rod, is held in place by the friction generated under the expansion pressure of the two piston rod halves. The two ends of the piston rod halves have deflected so far that they either come into contact with the inner surface of the cylindrical ring part of the washer 12 under a certain pressure or enter gaps 33 made thereon and thus in one case or the other one Prevent the washer from rotating in relation to the piston rod.
A rotation of the piston 3 itself with respect to the piston rod 15 is prevented by the flat guide surfaces 34 of the washer of the screw bolt 9, which has a square cross-section at the point of penetration of the washer. The screw nut rod 30 is under the pressure of the viewing spring 35 and, in the process, lies with its tooth 31 in the slot of the piston nut 13.
The rotation takes place on the handwheels 36 which by means of the pin 38 penetrating the slot 37 of the rod 30 is axially displaceable on the latter and can be actuated through two opposing recesses in the handle hub. After setting the desired piston speed, the decoupling rod is retracted into its starting position, the claws 19 of the two piston rod ends closing and by embracing the nose-like projections 14, the coupling between the piston and piston rod is restored. The decoupling takes place by pushing the decoupling rod forwards again, then pulling back the piston rod and finally pushing the decoupling rod back into its starting position.
In the process, the spring 35 of the screw nut rod can relax until the washer 39 comes to rest on the handwheels 36.
By the means described above, the sealing of the piston stopper 3 against the glass cylinder 4 can be changed, namely it is increased by screwing for the purpose of air, liquid and bacteria-tight closure of the injection solution during its storage and decreased by unscrewing to loosen the seal for the Carrying out the injection, the speed of the piston 3 in the cylinder 4 can be regulated according to the viscosity of the liquid, the injection speed and the resistance of the tissue.
4 shows a modified embodiment of a rear stopper serving as a plunger, as is used in an injection syringe, with which suction cannot be performed. The elastic material of the plug 3 'is located between two metallic ring surfaces, between which a screw connection is provided. One ring surface is formed by the head part 10 ', which either rests against the front face of the piston or is embedded in its front plate, of a screw shank 9' and the other ring surface is formed by a ring 40. In the latter is a threaded, externally closed sleeve-shaped chuck 41 used, which cooperates with the threaded part of the shaft 9 '.
The nut 41 has an annular flange 42, by means of which axial forces that arise when the nut is screwed in are transmitted to the ring 40 and thus to the elastic material of the stopper for the purpose of changing the sealing pressure. To screw the nut 41 in and out, a screwdriver 42 is provided, for example, the end of which is provided with a rib 44 which engages in a slot 45 in the nut.
In FIG. 5, a front stopper is shown, which is essentially of the same design as the piston stopper according to FIG. 4 and also allows an increase in the sealing pressure against the cylindrical ampoule 4.
The stopper 2 'has an annular flange 46 with which it rests against the end of the ampoule 4 so that it cannot slip into the ampoule. At the outer end a cylindrical Seheibe 47 rests on the stopper material, and in the latter a hollow threaded shaft 48 is inserted for the insertion of the rear needle part for the purpose of drilling through the stopper. A sleeve-shaped nut 49 interacts with the thread of the hollow shaft and has an annular flange 50 which is embedded in the stopper material and which transmits the axial forces generated during screwing to the stopper material. The screwdriver 43 shown in FIG. 4 can be used to screw in the screw shaft 48.
During the storage of the cylindrical ampoules, a completely tight seal can thus be achieved with the stoppers designed according to FIGS. 4 and 5. Similar to the embodiment according to FIG. 5, in which the metallic ring flange 50 of the front stopper is embedded in the stopper material, the rear stopper serving as a piston can also be designed in that the head part 10 '(FIG. 4) is also embedded in the piston material. With this training, the contents of the ampoule do not come into contact with any metal parts, which is essential for liquids that react undesirably with metals.
Another significant advantage of the described injection syringe is that when blood or other liquid is withdrawn by the syringe, the withdrawn liquid is sealed in the glass cylinder and is readily ready for dispatch.
