Device for screwing the two frame parts of a double-glazed window. As is known, coaxial bores are provided in the frame parts of double glazing windows, which make it possible to screw the two frame parts together by means of two threaded sleeves and a screw.
Originally the procedure was as follows (the two frame parts were placed on top of one another, the holes drilled and the two frame parts separated from each other again. A barrel sleeve with internal and external threads was then screwed into the hole in the inner frame part for this purpose was provided with a diagonal seat at its outer end so that it could be screwed in with a screwdriver.
Then a similar head sleeve was screwed into the bore of the outer frame part, which also served as a base for a screw, which the latter was finally screwed through this head sleeve through into the foot sleeve in order to screw the two frame parts together. According to this method, each of the parts mentioned, i.e. base sleeve, head sleeve and screw, was screwed in after pre-drilling the frame parts, which is quite time-consuming.
A more efficient method was therefore sought and the two sleeves were inserted into the associated bores in one operation. For this purpose, coaxial holes were drilled into the superimposed frame parts, of which the one in the inner frame part is somewhat larger than the one in the outer frame part.
This made it unnecessary to lift the frame parts from one another, as the foot sleeve, which was made slightly smaller in diameter than the head sleeve, could be screwed into the pre-drilled outer frame part through the larger hole.
In contrast to the earlier method, however, sleeves were used here with longitudinal grooves arranged in the triangle in their bores to accommodate a triangular tool. This tool was inserted through the head sleeve into the foot sleeve and rotated so that both sleeves were screwed together into the associated bores. As a second step, only the screw had to be screwed into both sleeves.
The present invention relates to a device for Versehrauben in the frame parts of a double-glazed window, in which coaxial bores are provided for receiving a threaded foot sleeve and a larger diameter head sleeve, in which this second work step is unnecessary.
This device consists in the fact that the foot sleeve is provided with a threaded blind hole, for the purpose of being able to insert both sleeves into their bores at the same time by means of a viewing window that extends through the head sleeve and is screwed into the foot sleeve. The head sleeve can also be provided with an external thread like the foot sleeve, or only with anchoring ribs or the like. If a head sleeve of the former type is used, it is advisable to provide a transverse slot in the outer end of the same, which corresponds to the screw socket.
Both parts, that is to say the head sleeve and the screw, can then be screwed together with a screwdriver, while the foot sleeve is covered with dust through the visual cover abutting the bottom of the pocket hole in the foot sleeve. However, if the head sleeve only has anchoring ribs or the like, the transverse slot is also unnecessary in it, since then only the screw is screwed with the screwdriver. The foot sleeve is also screwed, while the head sleeve is pulled into its bore by the screw head put in engagement with it.
In both cases, however, all three parts are inserted into the frame parts in a single operation, which is of particular importance because of the time saved. An exemplary embodiment of the subject of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing. FIGS. 1 and 2 show, in section, the device in two different state positions. FIG. 3 is a plan view of FIG. 2.
In the FIGS. <B> 1 </B> -Luid <B> 9- </B> a and b are parts of the two frame parts of a window with double glazing, with holes al -and b11 in the same direction. The mutual fastening of these two frame parts takes place by means of a device which has two sleeves with different large diameters, namely a head sleeve c and a foot sleeve with internal and external threads.
The head sleeve <B> c </B>, which has the larger diameter, has a continuous threaded hole, while the other, smaller-diameter foot sleeve <B> d </B> has a threaded blind hole. Extends through the sleeve c, a screw e, which is provided with an external thread only at its front end part, while rend the remaining part of its shaft is offset.
On its end face, from which the screw is inserted, the sleeve c has a recess for receiving the screw head, in the edge part of which two diametrically opposed notches cl (see also FIG. 3) are provided which correspond to the slot el of the screw e in terms of their width and depth.
To use the device described above, the same, as shown in FIG. 1, is inserted in the two bores of the frame parts a and b with one shown in FIG. 1 </B> indicated in dash-dotted lines, screwed at the same time in the slot e 'and in the two notches ci until it assumes the position shown in FIG. 2.
So here both sleeves c and d and the screw <B> c </B> are screwed simultaneously in one operation, namely one sleeve <B> c </B> directly with the screwdriver and the other sleeve <B > d </B> indirectly, by mediating the screw e screwed into the same, which saves a considerable amount of time when screwing the window frame parts a -Luld b, which is particularly important in series production.
The head sleeve r does not necessarily have to be provided with an internal and external thread. It could also have a smooth bore and, instead of the external thread, only peripheral ribs forming anchoring parts. In this case, this head sleeve would not be inserted into the boring a ″ by a very rough movement, but would be drawn into it by the head of the screw. The slot in it for a screwdriver would therefore be superfluous.
