Man erhält etwa 250 Teile Filterkuchen.
Resistant vat dye preparation suitable for printing. It is known that very many vat dyes of the anthraquinone series are either unsuitable or poorly suited for printing, in that only very weak or incorrectly colored prints are obtained with these dyes, or by the dyes only changing and uneven during printing give reliable results. Among the poorly suited for printing anthraquinone vat dyes there are in particular a large number of those which contain several, e.g. B.
Contains 2, 3 or more acylamino groups in the dye molecule.
It has now been found that vat dye preparations suitable for printing can be obtained from vat dyes of the general formula
EMI0001.0014
wherein R and R1 represent free radicals of the benzene series from solubilizing groups. Accordingly, the present invention relates to a stable dye preparation which is suitable for printing, which contains at least one printing auxiliary and a dye of the general formula mentioned above.
The dyes of the above general formula are obtained when 1 mole of isophthalic acid is reacted, expediently in the form of its acid chloride, with 2 moles of 1-amino-5-benzoylamino-anthraquinone, in which the benzoyl radicals may contain substituents which, however, do not may be of a solubilizing nature. Examples of such substituents are halogen atoms, alkyl and alkoxy groups.
The abovementioned dyes can be converted into a dye preparation suitable for printing conveniently in a fine distribution, for example by fine grinding or advantageously - by reprecipitation from a suitable solvent such as concentrated sulfuric acid. The dye powders or pastes obtained in this way can then be mixed with printing auxiliaries and, if necessary, dried or used directly in moist form for printing.
Such printing auxiliaries include: more valuable alcohols such as glycerol and glycol, urea, substituted ureas, sulfite cellulose liquor, condensation products of formaldehyde and naphthalenesulfonic acids, etc. The dye preparation obtained, which is suitable for printing and which is in dry or partially moist form can, is used according to the present method according to the usual chen methods for vat printing.
It is particularly advantageous that such dye preparations can be readily printed on the various materials, in particular cellulose fibers such as cotton, linen, rayon, rayon, regenerated cellulose, using the customary potash printing process with formaldehyde sulfoxylates. If desired, deep, rich tones can also be generated here.
The following examples explain the invention without, however, restricting its scope in any way. The parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example 1: 50 parts of that obtained from isophthalic acid chloride and 2 moles of 1-amino-5-benzoylaminoanthraquinone. Dye are added to 500 parts of sulfuric acid from 95 to 96 strength and stirred for 2 to 4 hours. The dye solution thus obtained is poured onto about 1000 parts of ice and 1500 parts of water. The finely divided dye is filtered off and washed neutral. About 250 parts of filter cake are obtained.
Three quarters of the filter cake obtained (about 187 parts) are ground in a ball mill for 12 to 16 hours with 470 parts of liquid, about 50 Jo iger sulphite waste liquor and 115 parts of anhydrous potassium carbonate and then dried in a spray dryer. A dry paraffin preparation is obtained which, by the normal Pottasehe method, gives strong yellow prints on cotton fabric.
Example <I> 2: </I> A quarter (about 62 parts) of the filter cake obtained in Example 1 is mixed with 25 parts of glycerol and 2.5 parts of a sulfated residue from the benzaldehyde distillation and brought to 95 parts by adding water . The mixture is ground in a ball mill for about 20 hours. A dye preparation suitable for printing is obtained which, if desired, can also be mixed with fungicidal and fermentation-preventing agents (formaldehyde or chlorocresol).
150 parts of the dye preparation obtained according to Example 2 with 700 parts of potash thickening, 100 parts of sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate and 50 parts of water are mixed and printed on mercerized cotton fabric, the print is dried in the usual way and steamed in a mattress plate, rinsed, oxidized and soaped at the boil , a strong yellow print is obtained.
If the dyes from isophthalic acid chloride and 2 moles of 1-amino-5- (p-chlorobenzoyl) -amino-anthraquinone or 2 moles of 1-amino-5- (p-methoxybenzoyl) -aminoanthraquinone are used in the above examples, it is obtained almost identical prints or prints slightly shifted in shade to orange, of practically the same coverage, lightfastness and wetfastness.
