Piton fixe-spiral.
Fixed-hairspring piton. To fix the outer end of a hairspring, in a timepiece, we generally use a stud engaged and tightened in a bore made in a cock's ear. The eyebolt has a diametral hole in which the end of the hairspring is fixed by means of a pin. However, the pinning of the hairspring has the drawback of deforming or displacing the latter, so that in order to carry out the centering of the hairspring, it is necessary to retouch its outer coil near the eyebolt.
The object of the present invention is a fixed-hairspring eyebolt making it possible, by removing the pinning, to eliminate the aforementioned drawback. The fixed-hairspring according to the invention is characterized in that its end projecting from the cock is split diametrically so as to form two elastic jaws which, brought together, under the action of a clamping ring, engaged on said end, clamps together the outer end of the hairspring.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the fixed-hairspring eyebolt forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view thereof with parts in section in the fixing position of the hairspring.
Fig. 2 is a view similar to FIG. 1 showing the piton deprived of its tightening ring before fixing the balance spring, and fig. 3 is a plan view of part of the cock carrying the eyebolt in the hairspring clamping position.
The pin 1, the posterior cylindrical end of which is fixed in a bore made in a cock's ear 5, has, in its part protruding from the cock, a diametral slot 3 whose lips 3a are bevelled, in order to facilitate their separation and the introduction into the bottom of the slot of the outer end of the flat hairspring 4. The slotted end of the eyebolt 1 has a conical end section la adjacent to a cylindrical section that lb limited by a collar the. A clamping ring 2, of circular cross section, engaged on the split end of the eyebolt, allows the end of the spiral 4 engaged at the bottom of the slot to be clamped between the elastic jaws formed by the slot 3 .
The ring 2 is calibrated so that, when it is engaged on the cylindrical section lb of the eyelet after having been displaced axially along the frustoconical section 1a., It tightens strongly in the bottom of the slot, the outer end of the spiral and is itself held in place by the elastic reaction of the two jaws. The le collar limits the axial displacement of the clamping ring. It is possible, if necessary, to give the section lb a very slight taper opposite to that of the terminal section la ..
