Description
Gartenschirmgelenk.
Garden umbrella joint. (The present invention is based on an umbrella joint with two parts that can be coupled to one another in different mutual positions, as is used in garden umbrellas, in order to be able to adjust the umbrella at different inclinations with respect to the foot.
The joint according to the present invention is characterized in that a lamellar coupling is provided between the shell-shaped parts.
The accompanying drawing shows a preferred embodiment of the joint according to the invention, namely shows: FIG. 1 a view with part of the joint in section along the line 1-I in FIG. 2 and FIG Section along the line II-II of Füg. 1.
The joint has two shell-shaped coupling parts 1, 2 through which a screw bolt 4 passes. The parts 1,? don't touch each other. In part 2, a sleeve 3 provided with a hexagonal cross section is attached, on which friction disks 5 provided with a hexagonal bore are fixed. Furthermore, regularly toothed clutch disks 6 are superimposed on the sleeve 3, in the round bore 7 of which the sleeve 3 is rotatable. Approaches 12 of part 1 protrude into the tooth gaps of the disks 0 .
It follows from the above that the friction disks 5 are firmly connected to part 2 and the disks 6 to part 1. A nut 13 provided with a handle 14 sits on the balancer 4; by rotating the latter, part 2 presses the disks 5, 6 against one another via an intermediate piece 15 and thus holds parts 1, \, in any position with respect to one another. If the nut 13 is loosened in the opposite direction, the parts 1, 2 are decoupled again.
The coupling parts 1, 2 carry tubular connecting pieces 8, 9 in which the umbrella poles 10, 11 are held.
As is easy to see, the joint can be adjusted to any angle, which is not the case, for example, in designs in which the coupling parts mesh with one another by means of teeth.
