Floor for bringing gases and liquids into contact for rectification, washing and reaction columns.
Among the trays known up to now for bringing gases and liquids into contact for rectification, washing and reaction columns are those in which the liquid flows off from the periphery of the tray towards the middle. In this type of floor, an overflow nozzle is arranged in the middle of the floor, which protrudes with its lower edge part into a container and with this forms a kind of siphon closure, to which in turn radially 1 arranged discharge pipes with a slight gradient are attached to the outside, around the rivers fluid to the peripheral part of the closest floor.
The gases passed through the column from below are thus forced to find their way through perforations in the base.
The present invention relates to a base of a similar type, namely with a centrally arranged overflow nozzle which forms part of a gas seal during operation, with deficiencies that have previously occurred. as indicated below, should be avoided.
On the one hand, during rectification, residual impurities from the liquid siphon are often deposited in the overflow nozzles. and radial discharge pipes so-called column blockages over time. On the other hand, the distribution of the liquid through radial discharge pipes at the bottom periphery is inadequate. Another disadvantage when using distribution pipes is that, especially with slightly foaming liquid, strong backflow occurs in the pipes and thus on the floor itself.
All these disadvantages are avoided in the tray according to the invention for bringing gases and liquids for Pt, ectifying, washing and reaction columns into contact because? the discharge of the liquid from the overflow nozzle away to the peripheral part of the next bottom floor no longer takes place by means of radially arranged pipes, but by means of a distribution plate with a gradient from the inside to the outside.
Such a distribution plate has a significantly higher rectifying effect on the soil, for the following reason: the film-like spread of the liquid to be returned caused by the distribution plate causes increased evaporation due to the heat of the steam condensing at the bottom of the distribution plate and additional exchange of fractions the steam flowing over the top of the distribution plate.
Another advantage is that? this distribution plate acts as a protection against the entrainment of liquid particles with the vapor, in that they are largely held back by the impact on the underside of the distributor, so that? the vapor rises, depending on the rate of distillation, with almost no liquid particles outside the distributor. This means that the rectifying trays can be subjected to considerably greater loads.
On. the accompanying drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a vertical section of an intermediate portion of a cylindrical column for contacting vapor and liquid, and
FIG. 2 is a horizontal section along the line II-II in FIG. 1.
The column according to FIGS. 1 and 2 has a plurality of trays A1, A2 mité, as in known constructions of a similar type, an overflow support cc is arranged. The various floors are supported on support bolts b in a manner also known.
Each overflow nozzle a is assigned an externally serrated distribution plate c, which is also mounted on its peripheral part on the respective support bolt b of a floor and is held at a certain distance from the floor concerned by means of spacer sleeves bl. The distribution plate c is flat and conical and has a tapered central part with which it protrudes into a cylindrical, diameter-reduced extension a1 of the overflow nozzle a.
The distribution plate c forms with the edge of the cylindrical extension al facing it, an annular nozzle-like outlet opening. The distance x between the distribution plate c and the lower edge of the extension a is of crucial importance for the proper functioning of the column through which the liquid flows from aben downwards according to the arrows drawn in FIG. l. This distance must namely be dimensioned in such a way that a stagnation of the liquid takes place at the outlet opening formed by the two parts? 1 and c during operation, so that at this point a.
Steam blocking the path is formed and the steam is thereby forced to withdraw through the openings in the ground. The size of the distance x necessary to achieve this goal can be determined experimentally and, as can easily be seen from FIG. 1, can be determined by means of regulating bolts d. which penetrate the floor in the vertical direction in the vicinity of the overflow nozzle a, can be varied.
