Description

Single-bellows dry gas meter.
In the usual single bellows gas meters, the action of the gas on the diaphragm closing each valve box results sometimes in an additional force pressing the valve on its seat, sometimes in an effort tending to move the valve away from its seat. seat.
This action, negligible when the operating pressure of the meter is low, the gas being generally distributed under a pressure not exceeding 100 mm of water, no longer 1 is when the meter is operating at high pressure.
The object of the present invention is to cancel the effect indicated above.
The single figure of the attached drawing represents, t. by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
1 is a double-seated valve box 2 and 3, 4 is the valve, 5 its stem, 6 is the nnem- brane of the valve 7 is a second balancing diaphragm arranged, as far as possible, but not necessarily, in the plane of the first.
The two membranes 6 and 7 are made integral; one from the other.
Their surface and the dimensions of the levers which connect them must be such that the moments of the forces to which they are subjected are balanced.
The two membranes 6 and: 7 are coupled by means of a lever 8 oscillating around a fixed point 9 and articulated, on the one hand, at 10, on the valve stem and, on the other hand pa. rt, at 11, to a link 12 articulated on the membrane 7.
The membrane 7 can be replaced in a less satisfactory manner by a compensating spring placed either directly on the valve stem, or on an intermediate member or relay, such as the membrane 7 itself.
CLAIM:
Single-bellows dry gas meter, characterized by the fact that it has a device such as the action of gas on the membrane. not sealing each valve box is balanced.
SUB-CLAIMS:
1. Meter according to claim, characterized in that the balancing of the action of the gas is achieved by a second membrane kinematically connected to the. first.
2. Meter according to claim, charac terized in that the balancing of the action of the gas is achieved by a spring acting directly on the valve stem.
3. Meter according to claim, characterized in that the balancing of the action of the gas is performed by a spring acting on an intermediate member connected to this rod.
