Strahlvortriebsanlage.
Jet propulsion system. The invention relates to a jet drive system with a combustion chamber for liquid fuel. It is important that the primary air is supplied to this combustion chamber relatively calmly and under an even pressure. The invention aims to meet this requirement in a simple and satisfactory manner.
The invention consists in the fact that the combustion chamber is preceded by a primary air space, which is closed off at the entrance by a partition that throttles the air.
In the accompanying drawings, some embodiments of the subject invention are shown.
F'ig. 1 is a section through part of the plant; 2 and 3 are sections through parts of two variants of this system.
The system shown in Fig. 1 has a combustion chamber made of sheet metal a, which is closed at one end by a perforated sheet metal wall b of conical shape. This partition wall has in the center a short cylindrical piece c, which holds fixed guide wings d ent, which surround the fuel injection nozzle e. The holes f in the partition wall b serve as an inlet through which the primary air can flow into the combustion chamber a.
A conical sheet metal housing g extends from the combustion chamber a around the partition b, which has the same diameter at one end as the combustion chamber a to which it is attached and which has a relatively small diameter at its other end. This housing g encloses an air space b from which the primary air can flow through the perforated partition b into the combustion chamber a . Another sheet metal housing h forms an air jacket i around the combustion chamber a and the housing g.
One end of the housing h extends beyond the housing g and serves. as a connection for the air supply. Part of the air entering this end: of the housing h enters the housing g and through the perforated partition b into the combustion chamber a, and the remainder is diverted into the air jacket i by an annular guide j attached to the housing g.
According to Fig. 1, the primary air space l is now closed at the entrance by a perforated, ring-shaped partition wall 7n, which is sealingly attached at its inner edge to the cylindrical piece c of the partition wall b and which extends outward to near the inside of the housing g . The air can flow through the holes n in the dividing wall Ina and the narrow annular gap d between the outer edge of the dividing wall and the housing g into the air space l.
It is throttled and calmed in the air space Z so that it is fed to the combustion chamber a under a uniform pressure.
In the variant according to FIG. 2, in wel cher the same or analogous parts are denoted by the same reference numerals as in Fig. 1 and the index 1, the perforated throttle wall ml is sealed with its outer edge on the inside of the housing g 'and he extends up to the vicinity of the cylindrical piece c 'of the partition wall b1, so that a narrow annular gap o1 remains between said piece and the inside of the throttle wall.
In the variant according to FIG. 3, in wel cher the same or similar parts with the same reference numerals as in Fig. 1 and the index 2 are designated, the conical Ge housing g 'is made of two parts, the perforated throttle wall with from made one piece with one of these parts and wherein the inside of the throttle wall is separated by a narrow annular gap o '' from the cylindrical piece c2 of the partition b = ge. The invention is of course not limited to the form of the system shown.
The perforated throttle wall can be designed in a hemispherical shape instead of a conical one
