Die Verformung a.

Seal between two cylindrical parts. The invention relates to a seal between two cylindrical parts, which relative to one another, at least in the axial direction, remain almost or completely in. The rest, in particular for sealing the cylinder liner of internal combustion engines in the cylinder jacket, and aims
in the event of a displacement of one of the two cylindrical parts transversely to the axial direction as well as a change in the circular shape of the sealing surface, a reaction to the other cylindrical part can be eliminated.
In Brennkraftmasohinen it is known to use rubber seals between the insert and the jacket of the cylinder for closing the cooling chambers. These rubber seals are often arranged in grooves on the insert,
where for thermal expansion respectively. For displacements between the jacket and the insert, a game is provided from the outset, which is sealed by the rubber, so that metallic contact between the two cylindrical parts is avoided.
Metal seals have already been proposed to avoid the disadvantages of rubber seals. In known seals, this type between the insert and jacket of Brennkräftmas, chinenzyliudern, the sealing part at its root is directly connected to the insert.
This has the disadvantage that if the jacket is deformed under the influence of the heating during operation, this connection causes a reaction on the insert in the sense that the insert is also deformed at this point and loses its circular shape.
The invention wants to avoid this disadvantage because the seal - not only a metallic sealing ring, which resiliently rests against the sealing surface of the one cylindrical part with the pressure force generated during insertion due to elastic deformation, but also the ring with the other cylindrical part has a flexible connecting apron,
which extends almost or completely in the direction of the cylinder axis.
A metallic sealing ring is to be understood as a ring in which at least the sealing surface on a Tevl or. a covering is provided which consists of metal wel cher.
In the drawing, embodiments of the invention are shown in FIGS. 4 to 10.
Fig. 1 and 2 show a known device up between two cylindrical parts in longitudinal and cross-section, Fig. 3 shows the curve of the deformation of the outer cylinder at one at its free end. 4 and 5 an example embodiment according to the invention in longitudinal and cross-section,
Fig. 6 to 8 different types of attachment of the seal on the cylinder of an internal combustion engine, Fig. 9 an appropriate design of the sealing surface and Fig. 10 the formation of a double skirt.
The cylindrical part. 1 in FIG. 1 is arranged concentrically around the cylindrical part 2 in the cold state and the space 3 between the two parts is sealed by the known seal 4. If in operation z.
B. by heating the inner wall 5 of the part 1 on the left side of Fig. 1 moves inwardly relative to the axis 8 and reaches the position 5 ', a pressure P is exerted on the seal 4, which has the result that the seal 4 assumes the shape 4 'at the pressure point. As a result, part 2 is dented and gets into 'position 2',
that is, its cross-section loses its circular shape at the pressure point. These shifts are shown on a very exaggerated scale in the figures.
If part 2 is a cylinder of a piston machine, the clearance for the piston is reduced at this point, which may seize there. If part 2 is an Ifager for a shaft, it can. also a feast of the wave take place.
In Fig. 3 it is shown in which way a cylinder 9, which experiences a pressure P1 at its free end A, which acts on a part or on the entire circumference, is compressed. The deformation a.
In the end, the result is that inside the cylinder jacket with the thickness s, bending moments occur which cause the surface lines to bend inwards and outwards, which quickly fades away until it ends at point B.
The length L of this influence tongue from the end A depends, among other things, on the diameter D of the cylinder. 9 from.
For thin-walled cylinders, the length L should be about 0.1X D. In FIGS. 4 and 5, the metal seal 10 therefore consists of a sealing ring 11, which rests resiliently on the cylindrical part 1, and a skirt 12 which connects the ring 11 to the cylindrical part 2 and extends in the direction of the cylinder axis 8.
The length L of the apron now exceeds a tenth of the inner apron diameter D '. If then, when the part 1 on the left-hand side of FIGS. 4 and 5 is deformed, the inner surface 7 reaches into, the position 7 ', the shape of the part 2 is still not impaired.
Part 2 not only remains cylindrical, but also maintains its position opposite axis 8, so that neither a piston working in cylinder 2 nor a shaft stored in it would come to fretting.
6 shows the cylinder of an internal combustion engine with a jacket 15 and an insert 16 concentric therewith in a longitudinal section, the one with slots. 17 is provided, which on the connector 18 for Einbezw. From la.ss are connected.
A cooling space 19, which is sealed by the seals 20, 21 and 22, is present between the jacket 15 and the insert 16. The seals 20 and 21 with the sealing rings 23 and the aprons 24 are BEFE Stigt on the insert 16 and are resiliently on the jacket 15. In contrast, the sealing ring 25 of the device 22 is attached to the jacket 15 by means of the apron 26 and lies against the insert 16 in a sealing manner.
In Fig. 7, the metal seal 30 with the ring 31 and the apron 32 by means of the flange 33 is heat shrunk onto the cylindri's part 2 in order to change the seal 30 without replacing the part 2 to allow. In Fig. 6, if the seals 20 and 21 break, the insert 16 or If the seal 22 breaks, the jacket 15 is completely renewed.
Instead of shrinking the seal, Feg. 8 a seal 35 with a ring 36, an apron 37 and a flange 38 which is pushed into the groove 39 in the cylindrical part 2 via the conical surface 40. The surface 40 deforms the flange 38 elastically when the seal 35 is pushed onto the cylinder 2. Due to the shoulder 42 delimiting the conical surface 40, the seal 35 is protected against displacement <RTI

In FIG. 9, the sealing surface 43 of the sealing ring 44 on the removed seal is conical in such a way that the ring 44, as shown in dash-dotted lines, rests on the entire height of the cylindrical part 1 when the seal is inserted.
Instead of between two machine parts, such a seal can also be arranged between the wall of two cylindrical vessels. In FIG. 10, the inner cylinder 45 of any vessel is surrounded by the seal 46, which has a skirt 47 with the sealing ring 48 as well as a double skirt 49 with the sealing ring 50.
The double apron 49 is drawn on both at its end 51 and at its end 52 while the inner cylinder 45 is warm. The sealing rings 48 and 50 are resiliently sealing against the outer cylinder 53 of a second vessel.
In all execution examples described takes place BEZW when installing the seal between the two cylindrical parts. when inserting a cylindrical part in the other an elastic deformation of the seal instead, such that the hezw. the sealing rings rest resiliently on a cylindrical part. The cylindrical parts can be arranged concentrically or eccentrically to one another.
The two cylindrical parts between which. the seal according to the invention is seen before, z. B. due to changes in the operating temperatures have smaller and, above all, slowly occurring relative shifts, so that they do not remain completely at rest relative to one another in the axial direction.
