Magnetic workpiece holder with pole plate.
In previously known magnetic work piece holders with pole plate, the pitch of the pole webs of the pole plate corresponds to that of the magnetic plate. With known workpiece holders of this type, there is the situation that thin and small ferromagnetic workpieces are insufficiently strong to machine them. What adheres to the pole plate is what makes their new processing difficult or impossible.
The present invention aims to remedy this disadvantage. It was found there? the adhesive force of the pole plate compared to known pole plates of the type mentioned at the beginning is considerably increased if the web division of the magnetic plate is at least twice that of the pole plate.
In the drawing, an embodiment of a part of a magnetic platen according to the invention is shown on an enlarged scale, partially in section.
It designates l two permanent magnetic pads of a magnetic disk, otherwise not shown. 2 is the pole plate, which consists of alternating successive ferromagnetic. flat metal rods 3 and diamagnetic spacer rods (intermediate layers) 4, whose length perpendicular to the plane of the drawing is at least as great? how the division of the magnetic disk is.
The pitch of the pole webs of the magnetic disk 1 is at least twice, in the example shown, a multiple of the pitch of the Pblplatbe, i. H. the distance between the vertical center planes of the metal bars (webs) 3. The force lines emerging from the pole faces of the pole webs 1 a, for the most part successively cross the diama.gnetic dis.dance bars 4 and the ferromagnetic pole plate webs 3, which at the top generate a magnetic frontal field,
which consists of flocks of lines of force emerging from one pole face and entering the neighboring pole face.
As a result of the front flux achieved in this way over the upper pole plate surface, a ferromagnetic work piece which is small and thin in relation to the pole pitch of the plate can be made to adhere well to the pole plate 2.
In order to prevent extensive aging of the magnets, a ferromagnetic plate 5 made of hardened and ground sheet steel is inserted between the magnetic plate 1 and the pole plate 2, the cross-section of which is matched so that. ss a permanent shunt of a certain value is obtained, whereby the above-mentioned aging can be avoided.
This plate 5 also aims to make the pole plate 2 easier to rotate with respect to the magnetic plate 1 '. To remove the workpieces lying on the plate 2, it is necessary to bring the magnetic field to zero, which is done in known magnetic clamping plates by moving the magnetic plate by half a pole pitch relative to the pole plate.
In the case of the clamping plate described, this type of elimination of the magnetic field cannot be carried out; it is effected by rotating the pole plate, the ferromagnetic webs 3 coming to rest across two or more pole webs 1 of the magnetic plate. As a result, the magnetic front field of the pole plate 2 is canceled, so that the workpieces placed on the same can be removed.
