Milling cutter. The present invention relates to a milling cutter for working out recesses in wooden parts, in particular those in stair stringers, with at least two wings with cutting edges lying in the lateral surface of the milling cutter, which run along a helical line.
In known milling cutters of this type and for this purpose, the tangents to the helical cutting edge in the face of the milling cutter in the opposite direction form obtuse angles with the cutting direction of the milling cutter. The aim of this arrangement of the wings is to convey the chips cut from the wood out of the workpiece in the axial direction,
The disadvantage of this arrangement of the cutting edges of the milling cutter is that the wood fibers are torn open at the upper edge of the recess to be made and form at least one brow. The removal of this brow requires rework; often, however, the torn out split ter result in an unclean, spoiled part of the recess.
This disadvantage is eliminated in the milling cutter according to the present invention in that the angles mentioned are acute. In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment example of the subject invention is Darge provides.
In the drawn cutter, the Morse taper 1 carries a cutter body with three cutter wings 2 with lying in the outer surface of the cutter, following a helical cutting edge 3 and arranged on the end face 4. Each Tan agent 5 to the cutting edge 3 closes in Rich direction against the Morse cone 1 forms an acute angle 7 with the cutting direction 6 of the milling cutter. Of course, only two or more than three wings could be seen before. The milling profile could also be different than drawn, z. B. cylindrical.
