Description
Einrichtung zum Abdichten von Flanschen. Es ist bereits bekannt, Flanschen statt durch Zwischenlegen von Dichtungsscheiben dadurch abzudichten, dass an der Dichtfläche des einen Flansches eine Feder und an der Dichtfläche des andern Flansches eine ent sprechende Nnt ausgebildet ist. Um dieses Abdichtungsprinzip "Nut und Feder" auch auf bestehende Flanschverbindungen ausdeh nen zu können, sind an beiden Flansch flächen Nuten ausgedreht und ein Ring zwi schengelegt worden, an dessen Stirnflächen beiderseits Federn ausgebildet sind.
Die den Gegenstand vorliegender Erfin dung bildende Einrichtung geht einen Schritt weiter, indem an Stelle eines Flach ringes mit Federerhöhungen ein Profilring verwendet wird, dessen Querschnittform der Form eines Rechteckes mit abgerundeten Ecken entspricht.
Ein solcher Profilring hat den Vorteil leichterer Massenherstellung und den desi 'besseren Enliegens in den Nut bettungen zufolge Wegfalles der Aussen- und Innenfedern und bietet die Möglichkeit einer innigeren, abstandsverringernden Verbin dung.
In der Zeichnung ist die Erfindung bei spielsweise veranschaulicht, und zwar zeigt: Fig. 1 den Dichtungsring im Schnitt, Fig. 2 die Flanschabdichtung im Schnitt, Fig. 3 das Querschnittprofil in grösserem Massstab.
Im Flansch 1 und Gegenflansch 2 sind je eine Nute 3 ausgebildet. Der Dichtungsring 4, der z. B. aus Gummi besteht, besitzt die Quensichnittform eines Rechteckes mit ab gerundeten Ecken mit der Besonderheit, dass die Kurvenübergänge 5 der Ecken als An lageflächen ballig verlaufen.

In order to be able to expand this sealing principle "tongue and groove" to existing flange connections, grooves are turned out on both flange surfaces and a ring has been put in between, on the end faces of which springs are formed on both sides.
The device forming the subject of the present invention goes a step further by using a profile ring in place of a flat ring with spring elevations, the cross-sectional shape of which corresponds to the shape of a rectangle with rounded corners.
Such a profile ring has the advantage of easier mass production and the better fit in the groove bedding due to the omission of the outer and inner springs and offers the possibility of a more intimate, distance-reducing connec tion.
In the drawing, the invention is illustrated by way of example, namely: FIG. 1 shows the sealing ring in section, FIG. 2 shows the flange seal in section, FIG. 3 shows the cross-sectional profile on a larger scale.
A groove 3 is formed in each of the flange 1 and mating flange 2. The sealing ring 4, the z. B. consists of rubber, has the Quensichnittform of a rectangle with rounded corners from with the special feature that the curve transitions 5 of the corners are convex as to contact surfaces.
