Process for the production of fertilizer from faecal sludge and ash. The present invention relates to a process for the production of a scatter ble, odorless mixed fertilizer from faecal sludge (mine or sewage sludge) and ash. The sewage sludge required for production can be taken from domestic septic tanks (manure or septic tanks). Ash from a waste incinerator can be used as ash. Ordinary industrial or other ashes that do not contain harmful compounds are equally suitable.
It is advantageous to first remove unwanted admixtures such as rubber, glass, stones, wood, paper and other things from the faeces.
The feces have the following percentage composition

<tb> 77.20 <SEP> 19.50 <SEP> 1.53 <SEP> 1.22 <SEP> 0.37 <SEP> 0.60 The composition of the sludge material is subject to fluctuations depending on the origin. The table above relates to fresh manure. The nutritional content of the faeces depends mainly on their age, so that fresh faeces are usually more nutrient-rich than old ones, which must be taken into account when assessing the same.
Ash is not just a water-absorbent, but is itself, depending on its origin, a nutrient carrier and plays a very important role in physical soil improvement. The nutrient ratios of the ash from the Zurich food incineration facility are as follows:

<tb> 0.90 <SEP> 0.00 <SEP> 1.10 <SEP> 15.7 Design example: In a mixing plant, also silo, pit, which meets the special requirements. Trough and other more, 3000 liters of faecal sludge are admitted. This sludge has to pass through a sieve, which retains all unwanted objects. The sludge is now brought to an acidic reaction with acidic material, such as a mineral acid, but preferably phosphoric or nitric acid, i.e. one that is itself a plant nutrient.
After the acidic reaction of about 5-6 px has started, an amount of 750 kg is added to the mixture, in such a way that the ash forms a 5-10 cm thick, homogeneous layer, which slowly and as Actively lowers the filter to the ground. The filling material is now separated into two parts by a jump layer: the sediments and suspensa to be processed can be found at the bottom, and the mechanically and chemically clarified water at the top, which can now be drained off and fed to the next receiving waterway.
After 420 liters of water have run off, another 750 kg of ash are added, and the material is now worked through more thoroughly so that the mass is intimately mixed. When the clinkers and chunks disintegrate and the material has taken on a powdery, fine-grain structure, the fertilizer is layered in piles. Chemical reactions produce a certain amount of heat that is able to kill any germs and weed seeds that may still be present. The final fertilizer product has an alkaline reaction of pii 7-8.
