Terfahren for the production of a new nonoazo dye. The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a new water-soluble monoazo dye, which is suitable for dyeing and printing artificial acetate silk, wool, silk, tin-weighted silk and nylon, and is produced by coupling the diazotized sellulfuric acid ester of p-aminophenyl-fl-oxyethyl ether with pn -Butylphenol obtained.
Example: 23.3 parts of the selective acid ester of p-aminophenyl-β-oxyethyl ether are suspended in 300 parts of water containing 25 parts of 36% hydrochloric acid and, at VC, by addition diazotized by 7 parts of sodium nitrite. Then dissolve 15 parts of p-n-butylphenol (available as described below) in 400 parts of water, containing 4 parts of sodium hydroxide,
and adds 30 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate and 80 parts of sodium aahloride. After the solution has cooled to 7 ° C, the aforementioned diazo solution is gradually added with stirring. After the coupling has ended, a further 40 parts of sodium chloride are added, whereupon the precipitated dye is filtered off and dried.
This new dye forms a dull reddish-yellow powder, which is soluble in warm water to form a reddish-yellow solution and in concentrated sulfuric acid to form a brownish-red solution. It dyes cellulose acetate silk in greenish-yellow tones of very good light and sublimation eligibility, provided that the dyeing is carried out using a neutral dye bath containing sodium chloride or sodium sulfate.
p-n-Butylplienol is obtained by diazotizing p-n-butylaniline and subsequent hydrolysis.
