Mfit a flexible pulling element interacting detent switch. The object of the invention is a notch switch, in particular for changing gear ratios on bicycles, by means of a flexible pulling element with several notches effective in both switching directions that can be tensioned and relaxed by a manually operated shift lever.
The switch according to the invention is characterized in that the switching lever has at one end a bulge concentric to its axis of rotation of circular shape with a downwardly curved edge, which forms a housing cover surrounding the switching elements, and that an actuating element necessarily follows the switching movements of the switching lever when tensioning the pulling element acts as a driver and when it is relaxed the pawl lifts out of a notch and, regardless of the tension in the pulling element, is inevitably transported to another notch, with the lever in both switching directions making a purely circular movement.
In one embodiment, the fixed base plate of the switch also has a circular shape and has a raised edge that is enclosed by the appropriately designed part of the switch lever all around with little play as a centering guide, so that both parts together form a box-like housing, all switching elements can be included in its interior.
The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject invention, FIG. 1 being a vertical section through the axis of rotation of the switch.
FIG. 2 is a horizontal section along the line A-A in FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is the inside view of the switch lever with the actuating organ fastened therein.
The switch lever 1, which is made of corrosion-free light metal or plastic, has a housing-like part in which the reinforcing plate 3 is secured by rivets 4 - formed by the bulge 2 provided at one end, concentric to its axis of rotation and having a circular shape with a downwardly curved edge be fastened. A pressed out of the reinforcing plate flap 5 serves as Actuate transmission organ, the function of which will be described below, while its extension 6 is used to reinforce the most vulnerable point of the switch handle. Concentric to the edge of the circular part of the reinforcement plate Ver, the switch axis 7 is fixed therein.
In the bent edge of the housing-like shift lever part, a recess 27 is attached, which extends only as far as is necessary to ensure the sideways austre border pulling element during the full shift travel unimpeded passage through the lever edge.
The fixed base plate 8 has a raised edge forming the wall 9, the outer boundary surface of which, leaving a small amount of play in the circular bulge 2 of the shift lever 1, serves as a centering and guide, so that both parts together form a box-like housing in its interior all switching elements are included. The bottom of the base plate has a concentric through hole for the switch axis, which before the spring-loaded locking washer 10 carries in a groove. Next, two holders 11 are pressed out in the Grundplat tenboden, in which the two parts of the pipe clamp 12 are hung.
The latter is used to firmly clamp the switch on the handlebars 18 or on another suitable part of the bicycle frame by means of the nut bolt 14. In the wall of the base plate, the end piece 15 of the metallic guide hose 16 for the flexible pulling member 17 is in a recess formed by pressing to match used, while at another point the teeth serving as notches 18 are provided, which can also be formed by a press therein. The drawing shows a switching device with two notches and an end stop; However, the invention is not limited to this, because the switching path and the number of notches can be selected as large as desired.
A drum 19 is loosely placed on the switch shaft 7. This has the shape of two congruent flat plates 20 which are spaced apart from one another and which are connected to one another by a semicircular web 21. The two plates form on the opposite side of the semicircular web facing the open drum side two rectified parallel ears between which the pawl 22 and its axis of rotation 23 are installed on it. A forked tab 24 is pressed out of the connecting web 21, which serves to receive and hold the end attachment piece 25 of the flexible tension member.
Inside the drum, the flat pawl spring 26 is inserted, which consists of flat material and is designed in such a way that further fastening means are not required for the same.
All these parts, with the exception of the axles, screws and rivets, etc., are designed in such a way that they can be stamped and cold formed from sheet metal, which not only makes the switch very easy, but also makes it considerably cheaper to manufacture.
The @@ 'irhungs -eise of the switch is explained with reference to Fig. 2, in which the switching device is shown in the extreme end position of the relaxed tension member.
Under the influence of the spring 26, the pawl 22 rests against the inner edge of the housing 9 of the base plate 8 and, in the position shown, locks against the last edge which is slightly higher than the others and thus forms the end stop. To tension the tension member. the shift lever in the arrow line around the switch axis 7 rotates ge, the base plate 8 remains immobile.
The actuating element 5 inevitably accompanying the shift lever acts in this sense of rotation as -innehmer by leaning against the driver edge 28 of the spring housing 19/21 and rotating it, the pulling element being tensioned and the pawl optionally in one or the other Notch 18 engages and remains in it until a further shift is made. To relax the pulling element, the switch lever is turned in the opposite direction to the direction of the arrow.
Here, the Be actuating member 5 is first removed from the driver edge 28 and then exerts pressure on the extended pawl end, whereby the pawl rotates about its own axis 23 until it is lifted out of the notch in which it is currently located and the drum with the pulling element is conveyed to the next notch.
One of the suspension in the switching mechanism of the transmission herrüh generating, in the pulling element permanently present tension can support the function of the switch when relaxing; However, it is not dependent on this voltage as known detent switches with a similar mode of operation, in which a switch movement in the sense of a relaxation of the pulling organ can only take place with the help of the tension existing in the latter, the switching lever fully performing a movement composed of two different arcs leads.
The gear lever could also be made of sheet iron. In this case, the reinforcement plate 3 with rivets 4 would be omitted and the axis 7 would be riveted directly into the lid, while a pin would also have to be riveted into the lid as an actuator instead of the tab 5.
The switches described have the following advantages over known switches of a similar type: 1. All switching elements are enclosed in the interior of a box-like housing.
22 <B>. </B> For its actuation, the switching mechanism is not dependent on the tension in the pulling element originating from the suspension in the gear mechanism to be switched, but is only effective by the adjusting force acting on the switching lever Shift lever performs a purely circular movement in both switching directions.
3. The switch takes up a minimum of space and has a pleasing exterior shape. It is also designed in such a way that it can be attached to the handlebars in such a way that it does not come into contact with the latter when the bicycle is hired on fences and walls and can therefore neither be adjusted nor damaged.
4. The components of the switch can be stamped and cold formed, making it inexpensive to manufacture.
5. The top of the switch can be made of light metal, so that a minimal weight can be achieved.
