Description
Reinforced fabric and process for its manufacture. For technical purposes, fabrics are often required: which have high strength and which can withstand temperature fluctuations and the effects of moisture.
Attempts have been made several times to produce such fabrics in connection with wire inlays without it having been possible to meet the requirements.
The present invention now provides a method for producing a reinforced fabric and a fabric produced by this method.
According to the method according to the present invention, wires and threads made of textile fibers are woven into a fabric at the same time. The strength of the fabric produced in this way depends on the number of wires woven into it. The wires can only be woven in in the weft direction or only in the warp direction or in both directions.
The wires can be spun with textile fibers. Wires twisted with threads made of textile fibers can also be woven in. This makes the reinforcement completely invisible.
A reinforced fabric produced in this way can, for example, be ideally suited for use in filters which are exposed to moisture and temperature fluctuations. The corresponding number of interwoven wires ensure a constant passage and prevent the textile threads from entering, so that the tissue is resistant to swelling.
In the accompanying drawing, an example embodiment of the fabric according to the invention is shown.
It shows: FIG. 1 the fabric in plan view, FIG. 2 a detail of the fabric on a larger scale.
With 1 the threads made of textile fibers, with 2: the wires used for reinforcement, for example made of steel or a non-ferrous metal, are designated.
