Brake device for bicycles. The subject of the present invention bil det a braking device for bicycles, in which the cross tube of the handlebar rotatably arranged in the handlebar head and the type is connected to the brakes that the brakes can be actuated by turning the cross tube. This makes it possible to omit the brake levers and Bowden cables previously arranged on the handlebar and to produce a braking device which is characterized by its simplicity and reliable operation. Since the brake lever no longer has to be grasped first to brake, only the cross tube of the handlebar has to be turned, enabling the brakes to be actuated more quickly, thereby reducing the risk of accidents.
A front wheel and a rear wheel brake are expediently connected to the cross tube and adjustable in such a way that when the cross tube is turned, the rear wheel brake comes into effect in front of the front wheel brake, so that the rear wheel is always braked first, which, as is well known, is also important in order to avoid accidents is.
Advantageously, in the handlebar head, a key operated Verrie gelungsorgan for locking the cross tube when brought into the braking position. Brakes provided. This allows the bicycle to be secured against theft in a simple manner.
On the drawing is a. Execution example of the subject invention provides Darge.
Fig. 1 shows a vertical section through the handlebar shaft and the front derradgabel of a bicycle; FIG. 2 shows a rim brake arranged in the front fork in the front view, and FIG. 3 shows a cross section to FIG.
Fig. 4 is a view of a brake pad carrier, Fig. 5 shows a brake bracket in section, Fig. 6 is part of a horizontal section through the cross tube and the handlebar head, Fig. 7 is a side elevation of the handlebar head with in the braking position locked cross tube.
Fig. 8 shows the bottom bracket housing in view and Fig. 9 is part of the plan view of the rear, lower wheel fork with a rim brake.
The steering rod head 2 attached to the shaft tube 1 has a semi-cylindrical recess 3 which, together with a bearing shell 4, serves to support the cross tube 5 of the handlebar. The. Bearing shell 4 is held at both ends by means of rings 6 on the handlebar head 2, which are established by means of adjusting screws 7. By appropriately tightening these set screws 7, the bearing parts 3 and 4 are pressed harder or less tightly against the cross tube 5, so that this can be rotated more or less easily ge. On the cross tube 5, a lever arm 8 is attached in the handlebar head, the free end of which protrudes between the head 9 and the lock nut 10 of a screw 11 which is screwed into a brake coupling member 12. The parts 11 and 12 are respectively inside the handlebar stem tube 1.
of the tube 15 carrying the wheel fork ordered. The member 12 protrudes above into the clamping tube 13, the lower end of which is conically thickened, and interacts with the lower, slotted end of the handlebar stem tube 1, such that when the screw 14 is tightened in the tube 13 closed at the top, the lower end of the stem tube 1 is pressed against the inner wall of the tra lowing tube 15, so that the shaft tube 1 is rigidly coupled to the front fork. After loosening the screw 14, the shaft tube 1 can be moved axially in the tube 15 by adjusting the screw 11 and thus the handlebars are ver in height. The tube 15 is stored by means of ball bearings 16 in the head tube 17 of the Fahrradrah mens.
In the lower part of the brake clutch member 12, a pull rod 18 is screwed, which is connected to the brake bracket 19 of the front brake. The brake bracket 19 is guided with its legs in Füh approximately rails 20 on the inside of the wheel fork and the legs each carry a pin 21, on which pin a replaceable brake pad carrier 22 with a slot opening 23 is arranged. On the carrier 22 is the z. B. made of rubber brake pad 24 which is pressed against the rim 25 of the wheel during braking. Since the brake pad carrier 22 can rotate about the pin 21, the brake pad 24 can adapt to the rim.
At the lower end of the brake clutch member 12, a chain 26 is also attached, which connects the member 12 with a tie rod 27, which is used to actuate a rear wheel rim brake. The chain 26 and the pull rod \? 7 are in the frame sub tube 29 through a z. B. soldered th reinforcement 28 arranged opening introduced. The pull rod 27 goes through (the tube 29 and the bottom bracket housing 30 and is adjustably fastened in a sleeve 31.
On the sleeve 31 sits a ring 32 on which a compression spring 33 acts, which surrounds the pull rod 27 protruding from the bottom bracket housing and is supported against the bottom bracket "". With the sleeve 31 a brake bracket 35 is connected ver adjustable by means of a screw 34, the legs of which leads in rails 36 on the inside of the rear fork and are each provided with an interchangeable brake pad 37 rotatably arranged on a pin and connected to the rim 38 of the rear wheel cooperates.
The brake bars 19 and 35 are expediently adjusted so that when the cross tube 5 rotates the handlebar counter-clockwise, via the lever arm 8, the coupling member 12, the chain 26, the tie rod 27 and the sleeve 31 first the brake pads 3 7 acting on the rear wheel and only when the cross tube 5 is thrown out by the coupling member 12 via the tie rod 18 which act on the front wheel the brake pads 24 come into effect. As a result of the rotatable arrangement of the brake pads, they can adapt to the rim.
A rotating body 39 is mounted on the handlebar head 2, on which a pin 40 sits eccentrically on the one hand and an actuating lever 41 is fastened by means of a screw 42 on the other. A flat spring 43 is attached to the lever 41, at the free end of which a locking pin 44 is attached, which penetrates a hole in the lever 41 and, in the position shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, protrudes into a hole 45 in the handlebar head 2. Since this pin 44 prevents twisting of the arm 41, so that the cross tube 5 is locked in the braking position.
The free end of the spring 43 carrying the pin 44 rests against a cam body 46 which is in a housing 47 attached to the handlebar head 2 in a manner not shown on the handlebar. The cam body 46 can be rotated for the purpose of unlocking the brakes by means of a key 48 so that the pin 44 is pulled out of the hole 45 by the spring 43. Now the lever 41 can be rotated in the arrow direction indicated in Fig. 7, whereby the pin 40 releases the lever arm 8, whereupon the cross tube 5 can be rotated from the braking position indicated in phantom in Fig. 1 into the position shown in Fig. 1 in solid lines can in which the brakes are released.
In this position, the lever 41 can be locked in that the cam body 46 is turned back into the initial position using the key 48 and the pin 44 is pushed into another hole in the handlebar head 2 by the action of the body 46 on the spring 43. When the cross tube 5 is locked, the brakes then brought into the braking position are locked and the bike is secured against theft, since the brakes can only be released after the locking mechanism has been lifted and the brake pads and wheels can only be removed when the brakes are released.
