Sole for sticking to shoe bottoms and process for their manufacture. The invention relates to a sole made of rubber or synthetic rubber BEZW. Mixtures thereof, for gluing on the bottom of a shoe, in particular made of leather, using nitro cellulose adhesives, and on a method for producing such soles.
The gluing of soles on shoe floors happens on the part of the shoemaker ge usually loosely using Nitrozellu, and it is therefore BEZW in the creation of soles from previously unused materials. When improving known soles, for example made of rubber, synthetic rubber or mixtures, it is necessary to take this use of nitrocellulose adhesives into account by the shoemaker and to prepare the sole to be glued in such a way that it can be glued to the shoe floor in the usual way by the shoemaker using nitrocellulose can be glued on.
In order to be able to maintain this type of gluing on the part of the shoemaker, the rubber soles previously had to be prepared by roughening, profiling, removing tissues, etc., for what weakened the soles considerably. The nitrocellulose adhesive on it -, then in the channels created by roughening, profiling, etc. and brought about a connection, the strength of which was insufficient for heavy use in most cases. Without such a roughening, that is, without significant weakening of the rubber sole, there was a connection to the shoe bottom. impossible at all.
There was therefore a desire to bezw rubber soles without deep profiles. without deep roughening the connecting surfaces to prepare .that they can be glued in the usual way by the shoemaker using nitrocellulose adhesives on the corresponding surfaces of the shoe, for example the shoe bottoms.
This was achieved by applying a polymeric compound based on polyvinyl chloride to the area of the rubber soles intended to be connected to the shoe bottom, which usually still contain fillers, with the shoe bottoms, without the need for excessive roughening or profiling.
The present invention therefore relates to a sole for gluing onto shoe floors by means of nitrocellulose adhesives, as well as a method for producing this sole.
The sole according to the invention is characterized in that it consists of a bendable rubber sole, with rubber being natural or synthetic rubber and mixtures of these two, the surface of which is a layer of a polymer for connecting to the bottom of the shoe Composition composed of vinyl chloride and at least one other polymerizable vinyl compound.
The process for producing this sole is characterized in that a rubber sole made of flexible material is processed on one side with a layer of a polymeric compound which is composed of vinyl chloride and at least one other polymerizable vinyl compound without mechanical processing which would weaken the strength, provides.
When such a sole according to the invention is glued to the insole in the usual way by means of nitrocellulose adhesives, a firm connection is established, which, however, is not so strong that the leather tears when a damaged sole is torn off for the purpose of gluing a new sole.
In the manufacture of the sole according to the invention, there is no significant weakening; at most it is necessary to remove the machine smoothness resulting from the treatment in the vulcanizing press by rubbing it with emery paper. This destruction of the machine's smoothness, i.e. the slight roughening, does not weaken the sole.
The thinly applied polymer layer adheres firmly to the connecting surface of the sole. The sole provided with this polymer layer can easily be sent. It can be handled like any other sole.
The sole according to the invention is expediently produced by spreading on a relatively dilute solution of the compounds forming the polymeric mass, for example a solution of 2 to 5% in the usual solvents.
As starting products for the production of the polymeric composition, which are preferably used in the form of copolymers, vinyl chloride on the one hand and vinyl acetate, vinyl ether, acrylic acid ester or the like on the other hand can be used.
It should be noted that products made with styrene do not look quite as good. Substances that have been polymerized from Gernisehen the monomeric substances are particularly advantageous. Solutions of mixtures of the individually produced polymers can also be used.
You can apply fairly concentrated solutions; It should be noted, however, that the thinner the applied layer, the better the adhesion afterwards brought about by nitrocellulose adhesive.
When gluing a rubber sole to the moving floor, it is not essential to find any kind of adhesive, but rather to prepare the rubber sole without weakening it in such a way that it can be shipped and handled without further ado, and that the shoe maker can stick it to the bottom of the shoe with the nitrocellulose glue he is used to in such a way that, on the one hand, sufficient adhesive strength is achieved, but on the other hand, the adhesive strength is not so great that the leather is also torn when the sole is torn off .
Swelling agents for rubber can optionally be added to the solutions containing the vinyl compounds, or the rubber sole can be treated with swelling agents for rubber before or after the application of the vinyl compounds. The following are possible as such: benzene, amyl formate, methyl formate, in particular tetrahydronaphtol acetate, the product known under the trademark “Sipalin MOM”, amyl trichloroacetate, methyl benzoate, methyl salicylate and other swelling agents.
In this way, the adhesive strength can, if desired, be increased, again without bringing about an excessively firm adhesion.
