La came 1(1 avant tourné d'un angle égal à. 360 - (t, <I>a</I> étant égal à
EMI0002.0035
Multiple intermittent drive device. The present invention relates to a multi-intermittent training device. Single intermittent drive devices are known comprising a Maltese cross or other similar member which rotates by the angle of its division (angle between the spokes forming the axis of two adjacent grooves of the Maltese cross for each revolution of the drive roller.
The present invention relates to such a multiple intermittent device in which the driven shaft rotates at least a fraction of a turn for several turns of the drive shaft, characterized in that the trailed shaft comprises a member of the type known as the Maltese Cross, driven by a roller driven around the drive shaft in a circular motion and a radial motion related to the first motion.
This combination of two movements can be easily achieved by controlling the radial movement by at least one cam, the angular speed of which is different from that of the roller.
The invention thus makes it possible to carry out a determined number of successive drives of the driven shaft for an equally determined number of revolutions of the drive shaft; it is also possible to alternate one or more training periods with one or more stopping periods of the driven shaft, each training period being able of course to be one or more successive training sessions, while each stopping period can correspond to one or more turns of the drive shaft.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, by way of example, in the attached drawing which shows the different operating phases of the device, in which :.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a device according to the invention making it possible to obtain a determined number of drives of the driven shaft for an equally determined number of turns of the drive shaft; fig. 2 to 6 show the various relative positions of the drive roller with respect to its guide cam after different numbers of turns of the drive shaft for the device according to FIG. 1; fig. 7 shows a cam set to alternate three driving periods with three stopping periods of the driven shaft.
As shown in fig. 1, the shaft 1 provided with a crank 2 directly drives two levers 3 each provided with a slide 4 in which the drive roller 5 can slide. The shaft 1 drives at the same time by means of a game differential pinions 6, 7, 8 9, two cams 10 centered on the shaft 1 in such a way that when the shaft 1 and the levers 3 make R turns, the cams 10 make R-1 turns; in other words, for each complete revolution of the shaft 1, the levers 3 move angularly with respect to the cams 10 by an angle
EMI0002.0005
Each cam 10 has a groove 11 in which the roller 5 moves, taking a radial movement when it arrives on the ramp 12 of this groove.
As long as the roller .5 has not reached this ramp 12, it is not likely to cause the Maltese cross 13 wedged on the shaft 14 to, cause intermittently. When the roller 1 reaches this ramp 12, it takes in the slide 4 a position such that it allows it to drive the Maltese cross 13 when its angular displacement brings it into contact with it. In the foregoing, R denotes the intermittency factor characterizing the differential.
The operation of the device which has just been described will be better understood by referring to FIGS. 2 to 6.
The position of the various organs of FIG. 2 being taken as the origin, the axis oa of the lever 3 and the axis ob of the cam 10 coincide, the lever and the cam being arranged such that the roller 5 engaged on the ramp 12 of the groove 11 occupies a extreme radial position. This roller comes into contact with the Maltese cross, ready to engage in one of the grooves 15 of the latter so as to cause it in its movement.
According to fig. 3, the lever 3 has moved by an angle corresponding to the arc aa ', the cam 10 having itself moved by an angle corresponding to the arc bb'. The lever 3 has moved relative to the cam <B> 1 </B> 0 by an angle corresponding to the arc blb 'and the Maltese cross 13 has rotated by an angle corresponding to the half. from the angle of its division.
According to fig.4, the lever 3 has turned by an angle corresponding to the arc ua "and the cam 10 by an angle corresponding to the arc bb", the front lever rotated relative to the cam d 'an angle corresponding to the arc bIl <I> ", </I> the Maltese cross has turned from the angle of its division.
During the movements of the members of the device corresponding to the passage from the position of FIG. 2 in the position of FIG. 4, the roller 5 remained engaged on the ramp 12 of the cam 10 and had, therefore, a radial position such that it caused the Maltese cross 13.
Fig. 5 shows the different members of the device in the position they occupy after one revolution of the shaft 1 and of the lever 3. The cam 1 (1 before turned by an angle equal to. 360 - (t, <I> a </I> being equal to
EMI0002.0035
the ga let .5 has left the ramp 12 of the cam 10, which forces it to take a position in the slide 4 (puts it in contact with the outer edge of a groove 15. 11.
therefore avoids during its angular movement, the Maltese cross which is not driven.
Fig. 6 shows the various members in the position they occupy after R-1 turns of the roller 5 which occupies radially in this case bare position such that it cannot engage in the groove 15 of the cross of --Halte.
Finally, after R turns of the shaft 1, the lever 3 and <B> la, </B> cam 10 are found in the position which is represented by the, fig. 2 and the cycle can start again.
The determination (the intermittency of the drives emerges from the following considerations (fig. 6). When the shaft 1 and the lever 3 make R turns, the cam 10 driven through the differential makes R-1 turns; the lever 3 therefore rotates relative to cam 10 through an angle of 360.
For one revolution of shaft 1, lever 3 rotates relative to cam 10 through an angle of
EMI0003.0004
The ramp 12 of the cam 10 has an angle at the center r which is called the effective drive angle of the roller 5; it is in fact only while the roller 5 is engaged on this ramp 12 that the drive can take place.
@ being the angle of the division of the Maltese cross and ô the angle of which the roller 5 turns in the driving position, to obtain that the Maltese cross turns by x times the angle P for R turns of the tree 1 corresponding to a cycle of operations, the angle Y must be given by the formula:
EMI0003.0012
For x = 1 we have
EMI0003.0014
we see that we can by taking appropriate values for <I> r, R and </I> J to vary x from 1 to R-1 by whole values, but it is also possible, by arranging several ramps 12 on the cams 10 to alternate one or more driving periods with one or more stopping periods on the driven shaft 14:
Fig. 7 schematically shows a cam provided with three ramps 12a., 12h, 12c, for a training device with three training periods with three stopping periods: each training period can naturally be with one or more successive drives ; it suffices that each ramp 12 has an appropriate center angle. Likewise, each stoppage period may correspond to one or more turns of the trainer shaft.
The properties of this device allow a considerable simplification of the drive of machines, instruments or apparatus with complicated intermittent drive without the force to be exerted on the drive shaft being higher than for intermittent drive. simple.
It has been assumed for the clarity of the description that the combined movement of the roller 5 was obtained by a circular groove 11 provided with one or more ramps 12; but it is obvious that such a movement can be regulated by any other cam or eccentric profile.
