Description
Zweck
X-ray contrast media.
For the X-ray imaging of the gastrointestinal tract, mostly non-toxic seeds in water and diluted seeds are used. ure insoluble metal compounds, primarily barium sulfate, are used. Pure barium sulfate no longer meets all the requirements of today's Rontgenteohnik. Due to the Ralief display developed in the last decade, the manufacture of special contrast media has become necessary. Today the following properties are required of a contrast medium: easy preparation, pleasant taste, easy drinkability, good adhesion to the mucous membrane. In the prepared state, the contrast food should hold for a longer time without any sedimentation.
In order to achieve a suspension that is as long as possible, however, copious amounts of protective colloid should be added to the barium sulfate. As protective colloids for the production of contrast dishes, for example, use can be made of: agar-agar, flax seed, salep mucus, tragacanth, gum arabic, methyl cellulose, locust bean gum, dextrin, cane sugar, dextrose, maltose, synthetic water-soluble high polymers, e.g. B. Sodium polyacrylate and others.
The contrast media containing protective colloids, however, form strong, sometimes coarsely vesified foam of high resistance when mixed, which can give rise to incorrect diagnoses.
Technology has known foam suppressants in sufficient quantities for a long time. However, these cannot be used for defoaming X-ray contrast dishes, as they are not suitable for internal use.
The invention relates to an insoluble metal compound, such as barium sulfate, and X-ray contrast agent containing soot colloids, which contains at least one fatty acid ester of a higher alcohol, such as palmitic acid ester, stearic acid lauric ester, palmitic acid melissyl ester and others, as foam suppressants. purpose
