Dans ce dessin: La fig. 1 :en est une vue générale de côté; La fig. 2 est la vue -en plan correspondante. le réservoir étant enlevé et .le cylindre coupé; La, fig. 3 est une vue partielle de la roue arrière du cycle avec la couronne d'entraîne ment et le pignon posé à cheval sur celle-ci, ledit pignon étant supposé coupé; La fig. 4 est une coupe longitudinale du pignon et de la. couronne;
La fi-. 5 est une coupe de détail de la couronne, perpendiculairement à l'un des rayons de k roue, de manière à montrer le dispositif :de fixation; La fig. 6 est une vue en bout de l'écrou à plateau sur lequel se fixe le moteur; La fig. 7 en est une vue de côté avec demi-coupe; La fig. 8 est une vue de côté de l'écrou de fixation se vissant sur l'écrou précédent;
Removable motor equipment for cycle. The present invention relates to removable motor equipment for cycle tines to directly drive a cycle wheel by means of teeth fixed to this wheel, thus transforming, for example, a bicycle into a moped.
We know that such equipment comprises, in addition to a driving part, some accessories such as carburetor, igniter, housing, gears, ete.
The motor equipment according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises an assembly in which is included its driving part and which is fixed on a support intended to be attached to an extension of the axis of said wheel so as to . to be able to swing integrally with this assembly around this axis, a rigid arm parallel to the plane of this wheel forming one body with this support and being designed to be connected to, its end to a branch of the support fork: of the, wheel.
The link between this arm and the. The branch in question of the wheel support fork is preferably elastic so as to damp vibrations. of the motor.
The accompanying drawing, given by way of example, shows an embodiment of the invention and a variant.
In this drawing: Fig. 1: is a general side view; Fig. 2 is the corresponding plan view. the reservoir being removed and the cylinder cut off; The, fig. 3 is a partial view of the rear wheel of the cycle with the drive ring gear and the pinion placed astride it, said pinion being assumed to be cut; Fig. 4 is a longitudinal section through the pinion and the. crowned;
The fi-. 5 is a detail section through the crown, perpendicular to one of the spokes of the wheel, so as to show the device: for fixing; Fig. 6 is an end view of the plate nut on which the motor is fixed; Fig. 7 is a side view with a half section; Fig. 8 is a side view of the fixing nut screwing onto the preceding nut;
The fi--. 9 and 10 show, from side and end, the reaction collar fixed to the horizontal fork; Fig. 11 shows a variant of FIG. 1.
The equipment shown at. the. fig. 1 com carries a cylinder 1. of the type to. two stroke in the example shown, the housing of which is integral with a second housing 2 containing three gears 3, 4 and 5, the first being. mounted on the motor shaft, the second on a shaft 6 which protrudes towards the rear -from the figure-. 1. as clearly shown in the plan view of fig. 2, the third on the shaft of an ignition device 7 (fig. \?) Mounted on a sole attached to the housing 2.
The housing 2 also carries, by means of a part 9, a reservoir 8 with its cap 59 and a carburetor 10, connected to the cylinder 1 by a suction tube 11. Finally, an exhaust pipe 12 is integral with the assembly thus formed.
This whole set is fixed by two bolts 13 (fig. 2) to. a bracket 14, in the form of a square, attached to an extension of the axis of the. rear wheel so that it can tilt. To constitute this extension, the usual nut for fixing the axle to the frame is replaced by a nut 15 (fig. 6 and 7) in the form of an externally threaded sleeve with a plate or shoulder 16.
This nut 15, which can remain permanently in position, receives the tab 14 which is held in place by an additional nut 17 (FIG. 8) screwed onto the nut 15.
As the. fig. 2, the. leg 14 has elongated 18 lights for the passage of. bolts 13, so as to. to adjust the position of the assembly in relation to the mean plane of the cycle.
The shaft 6 is splined -in its, passing part of the housing. This splined part receives a pinion, not shown in fi-. \? but detailed in fig. 3 and 4, which is formed by two flanges carrying fixed axes 21 on which are mounted idle rollers 22.
The lantern pinion with rotating spindles thus formed l.9 - 2 (I - 21 -? 2 internally meshes with a crown 23 fixed to the rear wheel, the flanges 1.9 overlapping the tooth of said crown (fig. . 4) and thus ensuring the axial retention of the pinion on its shaft 6.
Crown 23 (@ sti itself fixed to the rear wheel by the intermediary of its spokes, each spoke 24 (fie. 5. ) being locked under a small stamped plate 25 clamped by a screw 26. the radius being held on the other hand between the screw shank and the folded edge of the.
pellet 25.
There is preferably provided between the sky-mounted wheel 4 (fig. 1) and its shaft 6 (fig. 2) a dog clutch device (any type, by means of a sliding claw clamp: which can be combined. .i :: Aer externally by crumb my net such as 27 (fi-. 1 and 2).
This device allows the cycle to run freely when the engine is in it. adapted and that it does not work.
Leg 14 does. body with a substantially horizontal arm 28. parallel mid plane of the. wheel, and which extends beyond the support on the side of the axis opposite to that where the engine cylinder is located.
This arm ends at its end with a fork 29 which embraces a gogion i) head 30 (fig. 1, 9 and 10) forming the iui of the tightening bolts of a clamp 31 fixed permanently at the. horizontal fork: 32 of the cycle. The assembly is thus maintained in the working position.
It will be understood that the simple disassembly of the nut 17 makes it possible to remove the above assembly when desired, without having to touch, i, or the pipes. nor to the transmission. since the pinion 10 - 20 - 21 - 22 then disengages from the shaft 6 and is then removed by hand from the crown 23 on which it remains resting.
The controls are reduced to only two, that of the throttle (cable 51) and that of the decompressor (formed by a small valve closed by a spring with tweezers). To keep disassembly easy, these controls are easily removable, for example detachable from the. known way in the brakes.
It is also possible to provide also removable flexible mission trams that then fixed by spring clips, and even the levers to the gui don, although the latter can perfectly remain in place when the cycle is used without a motor.
With reference to the. fig. 11, the connection between the arm 28 and the branch 32 of the. horizontal fork of the rear wheel of the cycle is elastic. To this end, this arm 28 ends with an eye sliding along a curved rod 70 fixed to the collar 31 and held in position by two opposing springs 72 and 73, surrounding this rod on either side of the arm. 28.
These springs form the suspension damper dle, the driving part and absorb vibrations which cannot be transmitted to the frame.
In addition, in this same figure 11, the fuel tank 8 is separated from the driving part and is attached in a removable manner, using bolts, to the rear luggage carrier of the cvcle_
