Fig. 2 einen Längsschnitt durch ein Ventil.
Injection system on an internal combustion engine. The invention relates to an injection system on an internal combustion engine, the injection pump of which delivers an at least approximately constant amount of fuel per revolution of its drive element with constant back pressure over the entire speed range, which corresponds at least to that required at full load and of which at least im Partial load range, only a part is fed to the combustion chamber via the injection nozzle,
while the remaining part of the delivered fuel flows back via at least one throttle that can be adjusted during operation.
In the known systems of this type, the flow cross-section of the nozzle remains essentially unchanged over the entire adjustment range of the return flow throttle cross-section.
The control of the proportion spraying through the nozzle, the amount of fuel displaced by the promoting Pum pen link with each revolution of its drive member, is done here only by changing the return cross-sons. The total flow cross-section formed from the cross-section of the return flow restriction and the flow cross-section of the injection nozzle is reduced or increased.
the reduction respectively. Enlarging the cross section of the return flow restriction. The proportion of fuel spraying out of the nozzle changes with the ratio of the partial cross-sections. As the speed decreases, the injection pressure decreases while remaining the same and even more so when the cross-section of the return flow restriction increases.
As a result of this pressure drop, the atomization in the range of low speeds is relatively poor. This is particularly disadvantageous for diesel engines. But even with Otto engines, in which the fuel is injected into the air supply line or into the compression chamber, this known injection system has disadvantages for the mixture control,
because as a result of the changes in the counterpressure caused by the changes in the overall cross-section of the outflow, the delivery characteristic link of the pump, i. H. the course of the delivery rate per work cycle over the speed range does not remain horizontal, but increases with increasing speed at least in the area of all partial load settings.
Each setting is different, as in Fig. 134 on page 95 of the book "Die Brennkraftmaschin.e", edited by Professor Dr. Hans List, Volume 7 "Mixture formation and combustion in diesel engines". Vienna 1939 (Springer-Verlag), shows.
This disadvantage can be avoided if, according to the invention, means are used which are arranged and designed in such a way that when a return throttle cross-section is changed, the flow cross-section of the injection nozzle changes in the opposite sense, namely in such a way that the sum of the both cross-sections over the whole:
The adjustment range remains at least approximately the same, so that a change in the counter pressure is avoided in the event of load changes without changing the speed.
An embodiment of the invention. is shown in the drawing, specifically shows: FIG. 1 a schematic representation of an injection system on a vehicle gasoline engine with intake manifold injection.
2 shows a longitudinal section through a valve. 1 denotes a fuel tank, from which a line 2 leads to a Zabn- wheel injection pump 3. Through a device 4, the pump 3 is connected to a valve. A branch line 7 leading to the pump suction side via an adjustable return flow throttle valve 6 branches off upstream of this line 4.
The valve 5 has two outlets, one of which is designed as an injection nozzle 8. The other is formed by a throttle 9, from which a line 11 leads back to the suction side of the pump. Fuel is injected through the nozzle 8 in an uninterrupted jet into an air supply line 10 of a multi-cylinder engine, of which a cylinder Z with a spark plug h is indicated.
The free flow cross center of the nozzle 8 and the return flow throttle 9 can: by longitudinal displacement of a single valve needle 1? With.
two seats are changed in such a way that the cross-section of the flow of the nozzle changes in the redirected ratio to the cross-section of the flow of the throttle. The sum of the cross-sections remains at least approximately the same over the entire adjustment range.
The needle 12 is adjusted by a pneumatic regulator 1: 3, which acts on it via a linkage 13, c and a crack 11. The regulator 13 is influenced by the pressure prevailing in the air supply line 10 of the “engine” in such a way that with increasing absolute.
The pressure in this line of the nozzle increases proportionally to the Luftla @ diingsztinali, me and vice versa. The change in engine load, on the other hand, can be changed by the driver at will by adjusting a throttle head 15 in the air supply line 10 bring about.
In all operating states, the pump 3 delivers an approximately constant amount of fuel per revolution of its drive element, which corresponds at least to the amount required at full load. However, some of it flows back (at least in the partial load range) via valve 6 before it enters valve 5,
whose throttling return cross section remains unchanged during normal operation. However, to make it easier to jump to the engine with the help of a particularly fuel-rich mixture zii.
the return cross section of this valve can be arbitrarily reduced, in which case the amount of fuel delivered to valve 5 becomes greater.
In the case of the described system on a F ah.rzetve, ._ Ottam: otor with Samyro? Irin # lirü- zung by a continuously delivering gear pump, there is the considerable advantage
that the simple pneumatic regulator controlled by the pressure in the air supply line with a single return spring with a linear characteristic curve brings about a linear adjustment of the valve needle 12 and thus a change in the injected fuel quantity proportional to the changes in the air charge. This is due to the fact that the gear pump is in normal operation, i.e. when the position of valve 6 is changed.
in which the total outflow cross-section remains at least approximately the same in all load levels and therefore the encoder pressure remains the same throughout the entire speed range, resulting in an approximately the same delivery rate per revolution.
The structural embodiment shown in FIG. 2 for the valve 5 shows a housing 16 in which a needle 17 is guided which corresponds to the needle 12 according to FIG.
A connector 18 is used to connect the fuel supply line. A channel 19 in the housing 16 leads from this nozzle to an annular gap 20 which extends as far as the nozzle seat 21. To the housing 16 is a. longitudinally pierced nipple 22 screwed into the @da! s other end of the needle provided with grooves for the fuel, which carries the seat, the throttle 23.
A spring 25 is accommodated in a chamber 24 of the housing, into which the channel 19 also opens, which engages on a collar 26 of the needle 17 and strives to close the throttle 23. The needle protrudes with its tip through the throttle opening into a space 27, from which a channel 28 leads to the connecting piece 29 for the return line of the fuel. The nozzle 29 is held on the nipple 22 by a screwed th threaded part 3.0 with this.
In part 30 a longitudinally movable pressure pin 31 is ge leads. On the arm 32 of the part 3.0 fastened th, rotatable, mounted lever 33 engages via a linkage 34, which is designated in Fig. 1 with 13 designated controller. The arm 35 of the lever presses on the pin 31. This thus transmits the regulator movements to the needle and pushes it more or less downwards against the force of the spring 25.
This means that: the free cross section of the nozzle is more or less reduced and, conversely, that of the throttle is increased accordingly.
