Control device on internal combustion engines with gasoline injection and external ignition. The invention relates to a Regeleinrich device on internal combustion engines with gasoline injection and spark ignition and with depending on the negative pressure in the Sauglei device in their flow rate adjustable fuel injection pump, whose control rod is connected to a second control device influencing the engine speed.
In machines with gasoline injection, a mere regulation of the delivery rate of the injection pump is not easily possible because such machines also require regulation of the air supply in order to obtain an ignitable mixture. Adjusting the fuel injection pump solely as a function of the negative pressure in the Sauglei device does not, however, achieve the goal because the pump promotes a different amount of fuel per revolution at different speeds.
It has now been proposed to change the voltage of the regulator spring in a fuel injection pump initially controlled by the negative pressure in the suction line in different operating states, namely by means of a second additional spring which switches on at a certain negative pressure in the suction line.
However, the characteristic curve of the pump suffers a nod with such a control. It is therefore not possible to achieve a uniformly composed fuel-air mixture with this device at all speeds and loads.
According to another proposal, a control device actuated by the negative pressure in the suction line was either connected to the throttle valve in such a way that, if the throttle valve was in a given position, the pressure-dependent control device could not adjust the pump to additional delivery, or the regulator spring with the The throttle valve was connected in such a way that the degree of uniformity of the regulating device changed with the throttle valve position.
However, this known Voxrichtung only serves to maintain a constant machine speed once set, but it does not easily result in a uniform composition of the fuel air mixture with changing speeds.
In engines with gasoline injection and spark ignition, however, the uniform composition of the mixture is of particular importance because, in contrast to the operating conditions in a diesel engine, a gasoline-air mixture is no longer ignitable as it becomes lean.
According to the invention, keeping the fuel-air mixture at least approximately constant at all speeds is achieved in an internal combustion engine with gasoline injection and external ignition in that the connection between the control rod of the pump and the control device influencing the A machine speed is met in such a way that an injection pump is used increasing characteristic of an adjustment of the control device in the sense of an increase in the machine speed corresponds to a reduction and when using a pump falling characteristic corresponds to an increase in the delivery rate of the pump per rotation.
The inaccuracies in the mixture composition that arise at different speeds as a result of falling or increasing delivery characteristics of the injection pump are therefore compensated for, so that the mixture is obtained in an ignitable manner at all speeds.
In the drawing, the subject of the invention is for the case of using an injection pump with increasing Charak teristik, so a pump whose flow rate per revolution also increases with increasing speed, in an embodiment example schematically illustrated.
The intake manifold of an internal combustion engine with external ignition (not shown in the drawing) is denoted by 1, the gasoline injection pump driven by the internal combustion engine in a non-drawn manner with 2. In a known manner, the control rod 3 of this pump is via a linkage 4 with a piston 5 connected, which is exposed to the effect of the negative pressure in the suction line via a pipe 6. When the control rod 3 is pulled out to the right, the delivery rate of the pump increases, while it is reduced when the control rod 3 is moved to the left.
If an increased negative pressure occurs in the suction pipe 1, for example as a result of closing the throttle valve 7, the piston 5 is moved to the left against the We effect of a spring 8, with the flow rate in a mass easily adjustable by the execution of the Ge rod of the pump per revolution decreases according to the reduced volume of air drawn in. If, however, the same increase in the negative pressure occurs in the intake manifold as a result of increased speed and not, as just mentioned, as a result of closing the throttle valve, then on the other hand, if a pump is used with increasing characteristics, its delivery rate per revolution also increases.
The control with the help of the piston 5 alone is therefore not able to ensure an approximately constant mixture composition at all speeds. It is therefore the control rod 3 in addition to its connection to the piston 5 via the downwardly extended linkage 9, 10 with a second control device, the throttle valve 7, connected in the sense that an opening of the throttle valve is pushed to the left of the control rod 3 corresponds to the pump, i.e. a reduction in its delivery rate.
Since different throttle positions are required at different speeds, but the same pressures in the suction line, when the control rod 3 of the pump is connected to the throttle valve 7, it is possible to correct the fuel shift mixture to a certain degree depending on the speed and to keep the mixture ratio at least approximately constant hold.
When using a pump with falling characteristics, so with increasing speed per revolution decreasing delivery rate, the connection of the control rod 3 of the pump with the throttle valve would have to be made in the opposite sense, so that a further opening of the throttle valve 7 a Increase in the pump delivery rate.
The additional connection of the pump control rod with the throttle valve was made in order to achieve a simple construction of the machine. Of course, it would also be possible, without deviating from the inventive idea, instead of connecting to the throttle valve, to provide a connection, for example, with a centrifugal governor that affects the engine speed, which then also reduces the delivery rate as the pump characteristic increases at higher speed Revolution or, if a pump with decreasing characteristics is used, an increase in the delivery rate per revolution would have to result,
which can be easily carried out by appropriate lever arrangement. In order to maintain a uniform mixture composition even when using a pump with a curve-shaped rising or curve-shaped falling characteristic, it is also possible to arrange a corresponding cam disc in the connec tion of the control rod of the pump with the throttle valve.
