Description

Device for the continuous wet treatment of moving sheets of thread. It has already been proposed to treat running strands of freshly spun rayon in such a way that the threads are passed through washing and post-treatment baths in an ascending and descending manner with the help of barges, then dried and finally on a warp beam. The guide rollers for the thread sheet are arranged in such a way that the lower rollers are deeply immersed in the bath liquid and the upper ones are outside the bath liquid.

However, this leads to the inconvenience that sometimes some of the closely spaced threads of the group of threads converge, an inconvenience which of course must be avoided under all circumstances.

Surprisingly, it turned out that threads stop running together immediately when the upper rollers are immersed in the bath liquid either completely or at least slightly above the middle, i.e. so far that the threads are already on the roller when they continue to rotate the roller finally step out of the bath. However, a restriction must be made insofar as the last upper roller may be completely immersed in the bath, but must be more than halfway immersed in the bath. If this condition of more than half of the immersion is not met, the threads must run in the open air for a short distance before they come to rest on the upper roller.

The danger arises that the threads running fairly close to one another often converge and can only be separated from one another with great difficulty. This inconvenience is avoided by submerging the roller by more than half.

It has also been shown that threads converge on the transfer rollers with success as a result

can be combated, that the air gap is kept short.

Claim: Device for the continuous wet treatment of running sheets of thread, which are guided through the treatment liquid in barges with the aid of steering rollers in ascending and descending fashion, characterized in that the upper rollers are either completely immersed or at least slightly above their center in the treatment liquid However, the last upper roller is in each case only immersed slightly above its center and not completely in the liquid in the container.
