Hydrodynamic torque converter, in particular for motor vehicles. The subject of the main patent is. a hydrodynamic torque converter in which the stationary housing, which carries the diffuser on the inside and encloses the rotating parts, has cooling spaces that are completely closed off from the working circuit and cooling surfaces to discharge: the heat contained in the working fluid of the hydraulic circuit through a certain direction enforced,: the cooling surfaces mentioned is provided with a flow of cooling water where the interior of the housing is as well sealed as possible from the outside and only a relatively small amount of working fluid is supplied for refilling.
According to the present invention: this hydrodynamic torque converter is improved because the cooling water is circulated through the main part of the housing, the housing cover and the core and flows through these three parts one after the other. Through the: by the invention is given guidance of the coolant, the heat dissipation from the working fluid flowing at high speeds, which occurs immediately when it occurs in close proximity, is relatively effective, and the temperatures: the working fluid in the converter can be kept higher than otherwise common.
The efficiency is improved by the relatively even temperature conditions in the circuit, and with appropriately effective and adaptable cooling, a torque converter suitable for a high degree of conversion can be created, which has high operational reliability and high transmission capacity, in contrast to previous versions in which the Cooling: the working fluid in the converter did not meet the requirements.
In: the drawing is a Ausführungsbei game of the subject of the invention is shown schematically, Fig. 1 is a schematic side view, in places in .Schnitt, while in Fig. 2, a cross-section along the line AA in Fig. 1 through the housing cooling jacket. the cooling fins is shown.
The driving shaft 1 leads into the converter housing 3, from which the driven shaft leads out again. A cooling jacket 6 is provided on the housing cover 4, to which the coolant (water) flows in the cooled state through the line 5 and leaves it again through the line 7. The device 7 leads the coolant via the channel 7a. to the core space 8 of the transducer. At 8a, the coolant flows from the core space 8 into the cooling jacket 9 in the main part of the housing, which jacket is provided on the inner wall with ribs 11 arranged concentrically to one another, which guide the cooling water in the direction of the arrow,
so that at 10 it leaves the cooling jacket warmed up in order to be fed back to the converter through the line 5 after cooling in the dry cooler (not shown).
The coolant flow can also be routed in a different order through the three individual cooling spaces.
