Jarretelle.
Suspender. There are suspenders comprising a pellet, or similar organ in hardened or other eaoutcliouc, this pellet being assembled to the usual buckles by a piece of fabric, the whole being connected to an undergarment such as a corset,: sheath or waistband with elastic tape; the bottom is retained by in troduction in the buckles of said patch which is capped.
The object of the invention is a suspender, characterized in that it is formed of a loop in two parts, one of which, forming a support piece, is intended to be fixed to an undergarment, the other being .constituted by a rigid piece in the shape of a V carrying at its base a pellet around which the bottom must be wound up, the two parts of the loop being joined in such a way that, while maintaining the bottom applied against the patch with the fingers,
the V piece can be made to make a complete turn, passing it inside the support piece, to obtain by this movement the winding. from the bottom around the pellet. It is easily understood that the bottom is then fixed much more quickly than in the case where the pellet is separated from the buckles.
This suspender has the advantage that the bottom stitches do not jump, since there is no friction to fix the bottom on the patch and the stitches are not stretched in the direction of Ra bottom width, this which is the cause of the breakage of the thread.
The support piece may be a rigid U -shaped piece of metal thick enough to be able to drill a hole at the end of each branch, where the e $ - hoppers of the V piece that swivels there. This support piece can be made in a U shape as well, but obtained by bending by:
its middle, a thin piece of metal in the shape of an elongated 0 whose two halves are folded over one another while leaving a gap at the end of each branch to accommodate the ends -of the V; -shaped piece the support piece can be terminated at the top with a stirrup, which -which allows it to be fixed to the undergarment by means of an elastic band.
The support piece can also be constituted by an elastic cord folded back on itself, or by a flexible non-elastic cord; it can be constituted by two horns which are attached to the V piece by one of their ends, the other being attached to an undergarment; it can be made by means of a cord fitted with a device for adjusting the length; finally, it can be constituted by a chain with spherical meshes.
When the support part is formed by an elastic cord or not, the ends. of the latter are fixed to the two branches of the V piece by two sockets, which still allows the rotational movement to be made which then produces a tor sion on the flexible branches of the support piece. The V shaped part is always rigid, for example made of metal; on the other hand, the patch attached to it can be made of metal, or of metal and provided with a piece of fabric to make it more adherent to the bottom, or else can be made of rubber.
The appended drawing shows, by way of examples, two embodiments of the suspender forming the subject of the invention.
Fi-. 1 shows the first embodiment seen from the front; Fig. shows this embodiment attached to an undergarment by an elastic tape d, as well as a bottom e in position on the patch c, ready to be wound around this patch.
Fig. 3 shows. said embodiment seen from the side, at the start of the rotational movement serving to wrap the stocking around the pellet.
Fig. 4 is also a side view, but at the end of the rotational movement. Fig. 5 shows said embodiment from the front, once the bottom is. wound around the. pellet.
Fig. 6 is a side view similar to the fi-. 4, an arrow indicating a rotational movement in the opposite direction to unroll the bottom and remove it. Fig. 7 is a front view of the second embodiment; Fig. 8 is a side view.
The suspender represented in fi-. 1 to 6 is formed by a loop in two parts. Part a is cut from metal thick enough to be able to drill two holes f1 and f. = At the ends of its branches; this part a constitutes a support part.
In another embodiment, this support part could be obtained from a part in the form of an elongated 0 which is folded in its middle, and which is folded back. the two halves on top of each other, while leaving a space at the end of each branch, these spaces replacing the holes f, and f.- ,. By adding a caliper, the support part a is then identical to that of FIG. 1.
Part b is made of an iron or steel wire bent in the shape of a V, so that its branches form two pivots which fit into the holes f, </ I> and f, of the part a and that its base forms a loop which receives a pellet c constituted by a simple hollow or solid rivet of round, square or rectangular shape. The fi-. 7 and 8 represent the second embodiment, in which the part b in the form of a V is bent in a slightly different way so as to be able to receive at its ends two sockets h, which fix together ' part b and the ends of a double cord a. constituting the support piece.
The suspender represented in fi-. 1 to 6 is used as follows: Place the pellet e under the edge of the bottom e (fig. 2), then holding the bottom and the pellet together, we rotate the part T> between the branches of the part ca (fig. 3 and -1). The part b being again in its first position, the bottom e is then rolled up a full turn. and is presented from the face rolled up on the pellet c which retains it; part b supports it between its branches (fig. 5).
To remove the bottom, simply move in the opposite direction, as indicated by the arrow in fig. 6.
The suspender shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 work in the same way, but since the ends of part b cannot rotate, then the cords a twist; to combat this twisting, it suffices to precede the installation of the stocking by an empty movement in the opposite direction, that is to say as if to remove the stocking; the cords a are then twisted; but by placing the stocking and fixing it, they untwist and resume a normal position; the @ cordon.s are therefore only twisted a moment before the bottom is fixed.
