Anbohrrohrschelle.
Tapping pipe clamp. The present invention relates to a tapping pipe clamp for connecting a branch pipe to a main line under pressure, e.g. B. water or gas pipe.
To connect such branch lines, especially for house connections, to the main line, it is common to use tapping pipe clamps. For this purpose, the main line is mostly drilled by means of a tapping device equipped with a stuffing box for the drill, whereupon the main line must be turned off for the attachment of the connection line after the drilling has been completed.
It is, however, a cumbersome procedure associated with considerable inconveniences, because before the main line is switched off, all connected consumers must first be informed of the intended shutdown and its probable duration, and they will not have any water or water during this time. Gas is available. Also, depending on the local conditions, z.
B. in smaller towns or then in cities with ring lines several, locally far apart slides are closed and reopened, so that a large number of connected consumers is affected.
Therefore, in order to avoid shutdown altogether, tapping pipe clamps with an attached stopcock are used, through which the main line is drilled, and after drilling is done, the drill is then simply withdrawn and the stopcock until completion of the connection closed.
In the meantime, the relatively expensive stopcock is useless and therefore lost, which makes the connection more expensive, because the installation of a main tap in the building does not save the building. The leakage of water cannot be avoided when the drill is withdrawn until the tap is closed completely, which annoys the workforce.
The difficulties mentioned are now to be resolved in the tapping pipe clamp according to the inven tion by the fact that the Schel steering body has a channel intended for receiving the drill with a lateral expansion designed as a ball valve chamber and an inclined to this tapping channel, opening into it below the ball valve Branch channel for the connection of the branch pipe, the whole thing in such a way that the valve ball closes off the approach channel to the outside by the pressure acting on it after drilling the main line after the drill has been withdrawn.
Thanks to this design, the drilling of the main line can be done in a simple 'way through the tapping channel of the clamp body, after the branch pipe from has been inserted into the branch-off channel intended for this purpose., And as soon as the tapping is finished and the drill is withdrawn, the internal overpressure presses the valve ball against the upper opening of the tapping channel and closes it. The prerequisite for this is that the main tap on the previously completed branch line is closed.
There is no need for any further closing organs, and the workforce is not bothered by escaping water or gas without the main line being shut down in any way. Appropriately, after removing the drilling apparatus, which can preferably be screwed into a threaded bushing in the upper end of the tapping channel by means of a threaded nipple, the latter is closed with a screw plug.
The design of a drilling apparatus suitable for tapping the main line can be seen from Swiss patent no. 231749.
An embodiment of the subject invention is shown in the drawing, namely shows: Fig. 1 a tapping pipe clamp in longitudinal section, F'ig. 2 is a rear and FIG. 3 is a front end view of the same; F'ig. 4 shows a plan view thereof and FIG. 5 shows a detail variant in longitudinal section.
The tapping pipe clamp shown in the drawing has. a clamp body 1 made of cast iron, which has a mounting flange 2 on .der rear face. By means of a bracket 3, the ends of which, designed as screw bolts, pass through the holes in the flange,
and nuts 4, the clamp body 1 is fastened to the main conduit pipe R. For this purpose, the flange 2 has an indentation on its base area with an inserted plastic sealing ring 5, which effects the required seal on the pipe R.
The clamp body 1 has a through behen.den channel 6 for the passage of the drill ss serving to drill the pipe R. This tapping channel 6 has a lateral extension 7 serving as a ball valve chamber, which is dimensioned so that the valve ball 9 can be found laterally next to the drill B in the position indicated by dotted lines when drilling and the latter with its thickened drill tip when the drill is pulled out can also pass through.
In order to prevent the valve ball 9 from falling out downwards, the tapping channel is narrowed by a bead 8 at the bottom of the valve chamber. At the upper end, a threaded bushing 10 is screwed into the tapping channel 6, into which, when drilling, the drilling apparatus is screwed by means of a suitable threaded nipple, and the lower end of which forms the valve seat for the ball 9.
After drilling the upper end of the tapping channel is BEZW. the threaded bushing 10 closed by means of a screw plug 11.
At an angle to the tapping channel 6, the clamp body 1 has a branching channel 7.2, @ s-elcher which opens into the tapping channel 6 below the valve chamber 7. The part of the clamp body 1 surrounding the branch duct 12 from is formed as a caulking sleeve lm in which the cast-iron branch pipe Z, sealed by a caulked seal 13, is inserted.
However, as shown in FIG. 5, a forged iron branch pipe Z 'could also be screwed into the branch channel of the clamp body 1 by means of a thread.
The valve ball for water lines consists of a solid hard rubber ball, while a lighter hollow rubber ball is used for gas.
