Tool for straightening wires. The object of the invention is a useful tool for straightening threads.
Z1 is in the general shape of a false square comprising a central branch articulated with two parallel branches between which and at one end of which it is articulated in such a way that it is possible to make said middle branch penetrate between the other two branches, position in which at least one pair of coaxial holes of the two outer branches, oriented perpendicular to the plane:
in which moves the middle branch, come into coincidence% with a corresponding hole .de said middle branch.
Fig. 1 of the drawing shows an embodiment of the tool in question, given by way of example.
Fig. 2 shows its use.
Between two branches 1-2- is articulated a third branch 3 ,.
The articulation is made at the pivot 4 located at one of the ends of the branches 1-2 which it brings together, the other end being joined by a washer 5.
The middle branch 3 can occupy any angular-ment position with respect to the branches 1-2 .. It can also be lowered in the direction of -la arrow 6 until it penetrates and disappears almost entirely between said branches.
It cannot completely since it is not straight while the other branches are, so that its free end will tend to d ep <B> '</B> enough of the latter when the holes are brought into coincidence.
A notch 7 makes it easy to enter the branch 3 when you want to remove it. Both branches 1-2 and branch 3 have holes $, 9, 10,1l. Their axes are perpendicular to the articulation plane of the median branch and their position such that the holes of the branch 3 can be brought into coincidence with the pairs of coaxial holes passing right through the branches 1-2.
The holes are intended to allow the wire to pass - to be straightened and are, for this purpose, of different diameter, 8 being the hole of larger diameter located closest to the pin 4, and 11 the hole of smaller diameter located furthest from said pivot.
To straighten a wire by means. of this tool, we will proceed. as shown in fig. 2: The holes, the diameter of which corresponds approximately to the diameter of the wire 12 to be straightened, being brought into coincidence, one end of this wire will be passed through them which will then be fixed to a rotary member, for example, a clamp 13; a lathe doll, a drill, etc.
Animating the wire with a rapid rotational movement and pressing very lightly on the free end of branch 3, so that the wire is a little tight in the tool, the latter will be moved in the direction of the arrow 14, that is to say by moving it away from the point of attachment of the wire in the direction of the axis, of rotation.
As the operation progresses, an absolutely straight portion of wire 15 will be obtained between the rotary member 13 and the tool in question, while the outer portion, where the reference 12 is located, is not. not. The tool shown could include on one of its edges one or more notches; allowing either to pull out or straighten, for example, nails.
