Right-hand internal grinding device, especially for draw grinding or grinding polishing of cylindrical or tapered bores. The invention relates to a horizontal internal grinding device, in particular for pull-grinding or grinding-polishing of cylindrical or conical bores of preferably greater lengths, for example bores in gun barrels, by means of a grinding tool moved back and forth in the bore of the rotating workpiece .
Fine grinding work of this kind has hitherto been carried out in such a way that the tool, for example the grinding or polishing head, rotates continuously and at the same time carries out the longitudinal feed. In the case of horizontal internal grinding devices, the workpiece can also be turned in the opposite direction to the grinding head so that the latter does not grip too much into the underside of the hole, as is the case with horizontal grinding devices.
where the grinding head is guided back and forth axially in the workpiece bore and due to the weight effect on the lower string, the bore removes more material than elsewhere.
The avoidance of one-sided wear of the grinding head, which is strived for by the constant rotation of the tool, leads to machines with a difficult drive. The double movement of the tool requires an extensive gear unit as well as a slide and a machine bed for the slide guide.
Due to the large number of moving parts, the device is made more expensive, the inertia forces are increased, the operational safety is lower and operation is difficult.
The invention enables these disadvantages to be eliminated. It consists in the fact that the grinding head, which is equipped with radially adjustable grinding stones, is switched in the direction of rotation in addition to the back and forth, orbiewegunig, so that the grinding stones distributed on the grinding head continue to be processed always come to another point of the circumference of the hole to the plant.
As a result, the grinding stones are subjected to even wear. The switching of the grinding head can take place in any way, taking into account the maintenance of simple drive conditions, for example by: a step-by-step mechanism that becomes effective at one dead center during the stroke cycle, ie after a double leaf.
The back and forth movement of the tool can be effected with very simple means, for example with a hydraulic piston drive.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the internal grinding device according to the invention is shown schematically. It shows: Fig. 1, there, -, overall diagram of the dragging device in longitudinal section, Fig. 2 on a larger scale: a .Section .through the dragging head with the step switch, for the further switching of this cutting head at one end of the stroke and Fig. 3 a partial view of this.
The tubular workpiece 1 to be machined inside, in the present case a protective tube or barrel of a large caliber firearm, is rotatably mounted with the rear end in a bezel 2, with the front end in a disk 3 by means of clamping screws 4. The faceplate 3 runs in a bearing 5 and carries a spur gear 6,
which is in engagement with the drive pinion 7 of an electric motor 8, which sets the workpiece in rotation.
The grinding head 9, the radial. adjustable grindstones 10 carries, sits at the free end of a piston rod 11,
their calving moves back and forth in a hydraulic cylinder 13. The piston 12 is secured against rotation by a groove 14 and a spring 15. The hydraulic fluid is alternately supplied and discharged at the two cylinder ends through pipes 16 and 17.
The step-by-step indexing of the grinding head 9 in the circumferential direction can be seen in FIGS. 2 and 3. The grinding stones 10 distributed on the circumference of the grinding head 9 are pressed radially against the wall of the workpiece bore by a wedge thrust gear loaded by the spring 18 from the cone 19 and the feed wedges 20.
At the end facing the hydraulic cylinder 13, the grinding head 9 is coupled to a spline shaft section 11a of the piston rod 11 via a slide 21. This clutch is disengaged for the partial rotation of the grinding head at the end of the stroke. For this purpose, this hydraulic cylinder 13 is on the end face
Stop piece 22 is provided, against which the slide 21 runs at the end of the stroke and is brought out of engagement with the spline piece 11a against the action of the springs 25.
With the exit of the slide from this part, cams 23 distributed on the circumference of the stop piece 22 enter inclined grooves 24 of the cutting head 9 and continue to hold this at the end and beginning of the stroke movement by a corresponding switching step in the circumferential direction,
where with the exit of the control cam 23 from the control grooves 24 of the .Slider 21 through .the springs 25 -lower with the splined shaft part 11a: comes into engagement and the grinding head 9 with the piston rod 11 for the following back and forth rigidly couples.
Instead of the spring loading of the thrust wedge drive. 19, 20 could take place for the radial infeed, the grinding stones 10 also an inevitable readjustment for a radial feed, the grinding stones by a longitudinal adjustment of the cone 19 after each bump or double bump.
Likewise, of course, the ongoing step-by-step indexing of the grinding piston 9 in the circumferential direction could be done with other means than with a stepping mechanism, in a simple manner, for example,
that a groove is provided in the form of zigzag grooves extending over the circumference of the inner bore of the cylinder 13, each of which rises over part of the circumference, these partial grooves adjoining one another,
so that when going there is a slight partial rotation of the head and when going back, this partial rotation is continued in the same direction and so on until finally, after several strokes, a full revolution of the grinding head 9 is reached.
