Description
Verfahren zur Verbindung verchromter Gegenstände durch Schweissen. Es ist bisher im allgemeinen nicht möglich gewesen, verchromte Gegenstände, einerlei ob elektrolytisch oder auf thermischem Wege hergestellt, durch Schweissen miteinander zu verbinden, da einmal die Verbindung als solche Schwierigkeiten bereitete, ferner aber auch Mängel dadurch entstehen können, dass die Verchromung als solche an der Schweissstelle leidet oder hierbei Poren oder dergleichen entstehen, so dass das Grundmaterial offen liegt, also den Verchromungsschutz nicht mehr besitzt.
Diesem Übelstand lässt sich erfindungs gemäss dadurch abhelfen, dass man an den vorgesehenen Verbindungsstellen die zu ver chromenden Gegenstände mit einem korrosions beständigen Material vorschuht. Hierzu können beispielsweise 18 oder höher %/o ige Chrom stähle verwendet werden, auch sind andere ferritische oder austenitische, nicht rostende Legierungen geeignet, die unter Umständen, wie auch die reinen Chromstähle, Molybdän oder Kupfer oder auch andere Legierungs- bestandteile einzeln oder zu mehreren enthalten können. Zweckmässigerweise wird man mit solchen Legierungen vorschuhen, die schweiss unempfindlich sind, also zum Beispiel Titan oder Tantal oder Tantal und Niob enthalten. Die Vorschuhung beschränkt sich nicht auf Bleche oder dergleichen.
Das Verfahren ist auch für Rohre oder andere Gegenstände geeig net und ermöglicht auf diese Weise auch ohne weiteres die Stumpfschweissung in ihren ver schiedenen Modifikationen.

This drawback can be remedied according to the invention in that the objects to be chromium-plated are provided with a corrosion-resistant material at the intended connection points. For this purpose, for example, 18% or higher% chromium steels can be used; other ferritic or austenitic, rust-proof alloys are also suitable, which under certain circumstances, like pure chromium steels, molybdenum or copper or other alloy components, individually or in groups may contain. It is expedient to use alloys that are insensitive to sweat, for example contain titanium or tantalum or tantalum and niobium. The pre-shoeing is not limited to sheets or the like.
The method is also suitable for pipes or other objects and in this way also easily enables the butt welding in its various modifications.
