comme t'est le cas par exemple pour .l'invention décrite au brevet suisse no157438. Dans tous les cas où un réservoir de compeneation est relié à une boite de jonction, l'écoulement du liquide isolant, du câble vers le -réservoir ou du réservoir vers le câble, s'effectue par au moins un canal créé à cet effet dans la partie solide de l'isollant de la boîte de jonction;
Or, il peut arriver qu'il -soit indiqué, après la pose du câble et de -ses accessoires par exem ple, de relier le câble à un réservoir de com- pensation en un point isitué en dehors, de ces accessoires, par exemple en plein câble;
de réservoirs de com- pensat.ion, tandis que la fig. 2 montre, partiellement en coupe et à. plus grande échelle, une partie où le câble de cette installation est relié à un réservoir de compensation en un point situé en plein câble;
-et par deux boîtes de jonction J à cloisons ne permettant pas ce libre passage du liquide, comme cela est connu aussi;
a été dépouillé de sa. gaine protec trice 7 en plomb sur la longueur jugée néces saire dans le cars conoidéré, longueur qui peut, par exemple, être de l'ordre de gran deur de un à deux mètres;
Enfin, dans la variante montrée en fig. 4, où la liaison -est faite en un point 4 ,du câble, la gaine protectrice enlevée est remplacée par la boite -de jonction j elle-même qui est pro longée en 8 ;sur la, longueur voulue de façon à tenir lie rôle de gaine de remplacement;
Installation of electric cable. As is known, the installations (the electric cables whose dielectric comprises an insulating solid, paper for example impregnated with an insulating liquid, oil for example, are distinguished, installations of electric cables in which the insulating solid is impregnated with viscous material, in that it is possible to compensate for the variations in the volume of the insulating liquid, due to the variations in temperature experienced by the cables, by placing, in suitable places, the cables in connection with reservoirs:
compensation in which the liquid in excess in the cables penetrates, during heating of the cables and from which the = :, i ,, ide faulty in the cables is taken, during the cooling of the cables.
All the devices, methods, etc., hitherto known, for compensating the volume of the insulating liquid of an electric cable, with a hollow conductor for example, provide for the connection of the compensating reservoirs with the boxes. junction box or with the cable end boxes, accessories fitted when laying the cable,
as is the case, for example, for the invention described in Swiss patent no 157438. In all cases where a compensation tank is connected to a junction box, the flow of the insulating liquid , from the cable to the tank or from the tank to the cable, is carried out through at least one channel created for this purpose in the solid part of the insulation of the junction box;
this or these channels communicate the central channel of the hollow conductor which conveys the major part of the insulating liquid in excess or in defect in the pipe, with a part of the junction box which is in easy relation with the compensation tank for the passage easy insulating liquid.
However, it may happen that it is indicated, after laying the cable and its accessories for example, to connect the cable to a compensation tank at a point located outside of these accessories, for example. in full cable;
in fact, 'the distance separating two consecutive accessories can be great, for example rle the magnitude of one to two kilometers; in these cases, the pressure variations due to the expansion or contraction of the insulating liquid can, at certain points, be so.
cable length, reach dangerous values either for the solidity of the metal protective sheath of the cable, often lead sheath, when there is overpressure of the liquid, or for the withstand of the -dielectric when there is depression some cash.
The object of the present invention is to eliminate these dangers and it relates to an installation of an electric cable, the dielectric of which comprises a liquid impregnation insulator, and is connected at any of ose points to a compensation tank.
This connection can be carried out, for example, in full cable, or at a point of the cable adjacent to a junction box, or to a junction box itself, and this during or after the laying of the cable, as also before or. after impregnation @ of the cable.
According to the present invention, the variations in the volume of the insulating liquid which appear at a point in the cable, are compensated by the passage, at this point and as needed, of the insulating liquid of the cable to a compensation tank , and conversely from this compensation tank to the cable,
by filtration of this liquid through the solid insulating body that comprises the electric cable of the cable.
Three embodiments of an electric cable installation according to. present invention, in which the cable is connected to a compensating tank, are represented, schematically and by way of example, in the accompanying drawing in which FIG. 1 shows an installed installation, complete with accessories and,
of compensat.ion reservoirs, while fig. 2 shows, partially in section and at. larger scale, a part where the cable of this installation is connected to a compensation tank at a point located in the middle of the cable;
fig. 3 shows, partially in section and on a smaller scale than that of FIG. 2, a part where the cable of this installation is connected to a die compensation tank at a point adjacent to a junction box, and fig. 4 shows,
partially in section and on the same scale as FIG. 3, a variant of the case shown in this FIG. 3.
In the embodiment shown in fig. 1, the cable 1 ends -on either side at an end box E and is composed of twelve lengths connected to each other by nine junction boxes j allowing the free passage of the insulating liquid from a gueur in the other, as is known,
-and by two junction boxes J with partitions not allowing this free passage of the liquid, as is also known;
from the point of view of the free circulation of the insulating liquid, the two junction boxes J therefore divide the cable into three sections independent of each other. This cable is xelié 4,, compensation reservoirs R of a Known M "ièta, and,
at three points 2, 3 and 4, one of which, 2, is in the middle of the cable, the second, 3, is adjacent to a junction box j, and the third, 1. is part of a junction box j, to compensation reservoirs R according to the present invention.
Fig. 2 shows how the connection is made at location 2 located in the middle of the cable. Ix cable 1, with a hollow conductor â and dielectric 6,
was stripped of her. protective sheath 7 in lead over the length deemed necessary in the conoidéré coach, length which may, for example, be of the order of a gran deur of one to two meters;
this removed sheath was replaced over this length by another protective sheath formed, for example,
a lead sheet wound around this stripped part so as to give it the shape of a cylindrical tube 8 with an inside diameter greater than the outside diameter of the sheath 7 on which this tube is engaged in each die its ends.
The tube 8 is welded, on the one hand, along the generatrix of the tube formed by the two edges of the sheet applied one against the other, or one on the other overlapping., And, d on the other hand, at each of its ends, to the lead sheath. 7 not removed even weld beads 9, so as to make this cylindrical tube 8 perfectly sealed; finally, the interior of this tube 8 is connected to a compensation reservoir R by a sealed tube 10.
This creates a free space 11 between the electric di 6 and the replacement tube or sheath 8 in which the insulating liquid can circulate freely.
It is easy to understand that at this point 2 of the cable, the reservoir R plays a compensating protective role, the insulating liquid being able to pass automatically from the reservoir R inside the hollow conductor 5, and vice versa, by filtration of this .liquid through the insulating solid that comprises the dielectric 6.
In the case shown in fig. 3, where the reserve see (the compensation is connected to the cable at a point 3 adjacent to the junction box j, the connection is made, as for point 2, with the difference that the tube 8 is engaged by one of its ends with the junction box with which it is welded by a bundle of solder 9, with the other end being welded to the non-removed sheath 7, as is the case in fig. 2.
The tube 8 is connected by a pipe 10 to the compensation reservoir R, and the operation at this point is the same as that of point 2.
Finally, in the variant shown in FIG. 4, where the connection is made at a point 4 of the cable, the protective sheath removed is replaced by the junction box itself which is extended into 8; over the desired length so as to fulfill the role replacement sheath;
the junction box is welded at its two ends to the protective sheath not lifted by ales beads 9 and it -is connected to a compensation tank R, by a tu bulure 10. The operation at this point is understandable without more .
The length over which the cable is stripped from its gai.n@e 7 depends on the constants and the type of cable, and may exceed two meters .; the in, s: tallàtion could have another aspect than that shown in the drawing, for example in the way the tube 8 or the.
junction box are fixed to the sheath 7, in the way in which the tube 8 is connected to the reservoir R., a connection which can be made elsewhere than at an equal distance. of two solder points 9; the cable could have more than one conductor, etc.
