Yerschlusseinrichtung an Gefässen.
Fig. 7 ist eine weitere Ausführungsform im Längsschnitt.
(In Fig. 2 gestrichelt angedeutet.)
Closing device on vessels. The invention relates to a closure device on vessels.
In the field of vessel closures, there is a lack of a usable, cheap mass closure that can be produced automatically and applied to the vessel mouths without any special mechanical equipment, but closes airtight and pressure-tight without additional sealing means and opens without the aid of special opening tools can be, but allows a reclosure. The invention aims to create such a versatile vessel closure.
Countless suggestions have already been made to solve the problem outlined above, but so far it has not yet been possible to find a closure that meets all the requirements placed on it in terms of ease of manufacture and reliable use respectively. Reuse is sufficient. The previous types of closure were always only aimed at achieving one or two specific effects - e.g. B.
Airtightness and reusability or cheapness and tightness, but without the possibility of reuse, etc. - aimed, however, on the creation of a closure with the above-mentioned many-sided properties, as the aim of the invention is.
Thus, for example, clamp closures have been proposed whose closure effect is based on a clamping between the cylindrical closure lid edge and elastic vessel edge. Here, the holding effect and thus the loading capacity of the lid changes with the degree of clamping tension between the lid and the edge of the vessel. You tend to support this with such closures by special Halteklam numbers or a particularly tight fit of the lid edge.
In the latter case, the lid can usually only be detached from the vessel by deforming the lid or the vessel using special tools. Such Versclilüse are usually made of sheet metal, less resistant materials such as cardboard are not suitable for this ge.
With other types of closure, the so-called. Capsule closures are usually made of metal discs or foils in grooves or grooves that are located just below the mouth inside or outside the vessel, or folded over projections on the vessel wall. Such closures are, even if to a certain degree airtight and pressure-tight, not reusable and have fulfilled their task after one use.
Still other closures made of disc-shaped material should work together with conically narrowing vessel mouths. Here there is the disadvantage that the closure parts cannot be produced in the necessary shape that is precisely adapted to the vessel mouth, much less can be inserted into them in a sealing manner,
because the lower surface of the closure is larger than the opening surface of the rigid vessel.
According to the closure device on vessels forming the subject of the invention, in which the inner part of a groove on the edge of the closure part has a slightly larger diameter than the clear width of the edge of the vessel mouth, it is now proposed that the groove on the edge of the closure part be shaped like a press-stud male and the edge of the vessel mouth To form a type of press-stud die, which parts have sealing surfaces with the same profile, of the type
that the closure part snaps into the vessel mouth elastically when it is closed, the sealing surface of the vessel mouth rim and that of the closure part being positively pressed against one another and, viewed in profile, fitting into one another like a ball joint.
This results in an intimate surface contact under tension, which ensures the necessary airtightness. If the disc-shaped part of the closure part is provided with a preferably inwardly directed curvature or bulge (crown), the strength and tightness of the closure is increased when the vessel is subjected to an internal excess pressure, e.g. B. with vessels to be sterilized.
Snap fasteners of the type described can be used particularly advantageously if the lid and vessel are made of cardboard. The fibrous nature of this material enables a particularly pliable and tight engagement of the surfaces in contact with the favorable consequence of an extreme sealing effect. In addition, however, vessels and lids can be used
Process from cardboard in the same way as it is adapted to the nature of the material: to form the press stud male and female mold surfaces, the cardboard material can be rolled, compressed and pressed without it having the given shape, as is usually the case with cardboard. loses again after deformation, not even with moisture absorption. It is also possible to glue a correspondingly shaped mouth ring into the vessel opening or to attach it in another way.
in which the lid engages like a push button.
The invention is illustrated in the drawing, for example.
1 shows a vessel closure according to the invention in longitudinal section.
Fig. 2 is the same partial section on a larger scale.
Fig. 3 shows a modified imple mentation of the male lid in part longitudinal section.
Fig. 4 shows. a further embodiment and FIG. 5 illustrates a longitudinal section through a vessel in which the lid and base engage in the edge of the vessel like a push button.
6 shows a longitudinal section through a vessel with a differently shaped lid and a differently inserted base. Fig. 7 is a further embodiment in longitudinal section.
Fig. 8 and 9 show, for example, from management options of the vessel mouth in partial longitudinal section.
The vessel 1, the cross-section of which can be any (round, oval, square or similar), is on an edge 2 to be closed, respectively. 2 'provided with an inwardly protruding, circular in the cutout bead, roller or indentation 3, while the edge of the closure part 4 respectively. 4 ', 4 "in cross-section, one of the bead 3 has a groove 5 with the same profile, the diameter of the inner part of the roller 5 being slightly larger than the inner diameter, that is the inside width of the bead 3.
There is either the lid made of elastic or stretchable material, such as cardboard, sheet metal, plastic, rubber, leather, etc., while the vessel BEZW. its edge can be made of any material, including rigid material, and / or the mouth of the vessel is made of elastic or stretchable material and the lid is made of any material, including rigid material.
Since the edge profiles of the cover BEZW. The bottom and the vessel mouth form-fitting under tension in the profile, fit into each other like a ball joint, there is an intimate, tensioned surface contact over the entire circumference, which is maintained under all circumstances by reaching under the inner lid section under the circumference of the smallest diameter of the vessel rim . One can therefore speak of a push-button fit or connection of the lid with the vessel.
By choosing a suitable material, shaping the edge of the vessel and the closure part and dimensioning the diameter of the inner edge of the lid, it is now in the hand to keep the closure part more or less tight on the vessel.
If, for example, the lid rim is allowed to grip under the rim of the vessel quite strongly (compare the different sizes, the distances a in FIGS. 2, 3 and 4), the closure parts can come into contact so tightly that a solution of the same is very difficult, which is often desired when using them as a vessel bottom.
The holding force of the closure part is promoted by the fact that the cover is slightly curved inwards, whereby the inner edge portion of the cover bulge is also pressed firmly against the protruding bead from below. As a result, overpressure inside the vessel only increases the tightness of the closure because the internal pressure acting against the bulge presses the lid on even more firmly.
In order to achieve a special blocking of the closure part, protrusions or elevations 6 can be seen in the lid edge groove, which engage in corresponding depressions 7 of the vessel edge bulge, which can also be circumferential grooves. (In Fig. 2 indicated by dashed lines.) When the lid is rotated in the mouth of the vessel, the elevations 6 can work in conjunction with:
the wells 7 stops for limiting the rotational movement bil the. The elevations 6 can also be designed as a continuous step or bulge and thus form an additional lock tion of the closure parts, which still allows reopening.
The described closure device makes it easily possible to manufacture both the vessel and the lid, or both, from a material that previously could only be treated with observation of certain deformation characteristics, namely cardboard.
This material can be beaded and rounded off in the manner shown in the figures to form the bead on the vessel edge, without having to fear that, in an effort to resume its original shape, the tightness of the closure is impaired. The design of the cover also poses no difficulties with this material, because the groove 5 can be made dimensionally stable by means of a suitable rolling or upsetting process.
The shaping of the edge of the vessel mouth is also possible in various ways. For example, FIG. 8 shows an inwardly bulging annular bead 9 formed by an outer bead 8, while FIG. 9 shows a bead 11 formed by an inner bead 10. In the embodiment of FIG. 7 is. a profile ring 12 is glued into the mouth of the vessel. The associated cover 13 has a handle 14.
A differently shaped respectively. The cover 16 according to FIG. 6 has mounted handle 15.
The peculiarity of the cardboard structure means that the fibers of the lid and the edge of the vessel form a felt-like seal with one another.
However, it is not impossible to impregnate the lid and the edge of the vessel, for example with lacquer, foil, emulsion or wax coatings, because the main sealing effect is ensured by the ball-joint-like engagement between the lid and the vessel.
In order to open the closure, one only needs to pull the snap-on lid out of the mouth of the vessel by grasping with the finger under the edge lying on the mouth of the opening. To make it easier to grasp, the edge can either be kept larger, so that it protrudes a little beyond the outer circumference of the vessel opening, or it can be a special handle, e.g. B. a cord or corrugation or, as at 14 or 15, a tongue or tab.
The edge of the lid can also encompass the mouth of the vessel on the outside, as shown at 17 in FIG. In the case of angular vessels, the inverted rim 17 of the lid prevents the vessel rim from deviating outwards when the lid is inserted.
On the other hand, a notch can also be made on the outer side of the opening mouth, into which one can pinch one's finger in order to get to the edge of the lid in this way. To achieve particular elasticity of the vessel rim, it may sometimes be desirable not to allow the inwardly folded bead 3 to come to rest completely with the inner vessel wall.
It is then advantageous to leave a small space b (Fig. 2) between the inner Ge vessel wall and the edge of the adjacent bead.
The form-fitting, tensioned version of the engaged closure profiles allows the use of part 4, both as a lid of a vessel and as its base, without loss of sealing effect or other valuable properties of the closure, whereby it is completely equivalent whether the base is from the outside (4 'in Mg. 5) or from the inside (4 "in Fig. 6) is pressed onto the vessel.
In the latter case, the curvature is advantageously directed inwards.
A closure device according to the invention has been found to be reliably sealing after extensive trials. Compared to the known closures of various designs, as mentioned at the outset, the embodiments shown have the advantage of the greatest simplicity and the possibility of being mass-produced, regardless of the particular choice of material, of grains.
