Speichelabsaugevorrichtung.
Fig. lb eine Draufsicht von Fig. la,
Fig. le eine Seitenqueransieht desselben Hohlk¯rpers,
Saliva aspirator.
When a doctor has to do dental work, the inevitable continued salivation is a nuisance for both parts. Up until now, the patient had swabs of cotton wool placed on both sides of the side of the jaw to be treated. s of saliva. Furthermore, a bent tube was hung in the mouth, which is connected to the rinsing water pipe by means of a rubber hose and through which, as a result of the flowing water, saliva and air are sucked out according to the principle of the ejector and thereby the mouth is dried out , but mainly only at the point where the tube ends.
However, since the same can usually not be brought into the immediate vicinity of the tooth to be treated, the saliva suction is insufficient and therefore the cotton swabs must be renewed frequently.
The subject of the present invention is a saliva extraction device, characterized by at least one hollow body which is intended to be placed on the jaw in the oral cavity in such a way that it comes to lie at the base of the oral cavity in the area of the saliva accumulation; at which point it is provided with openings for Spei chel suction, and further characterized by at least one drain pipe connected to the hollow body, which is connected to an ejector connected to the water pipe.
Exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing. Show in it:
Fig. La is a side longitudinal view of a suction device from with a hollow body intended for the lower right side of the jaw,
Fig. Lb a plan view of Fig. La,
Fig. Le a side view of the same hollow body,
Fig. 2a is a side transverse view of a suction device from with two interconnected hollow bodies for the lower front of particular jaw center,
FIG. 2b a top view of the suction device according to FIG. 2a.
The device can be entes-eider loosely placed in the mouth, or for example. se on the approach 1 vorriehtung in a not shown addition, z. B. clamped to the apparatus @ Automaton @ introduced in the dental practice and thereby conveniently clamped to the Einn.
As can be seen from the drawing, the hollow bodies 3 and 4 are intended to be placed on the jaw in the oral cavity in such a way that they come to lie at the base of the oral cavity in the area of the saliva accumulation.
Thus, according to FIG. 1b, the device intended for the lower right side of the jaw is, for example, fork-shaped and placed in the mouth in such a way that the row of teeth 2 shown in dotted lines comes to lie between the fork tips. While the part 3 of the hollow body located between the jaw and the cheek is bean-shaped, the other fork tip is given a lobe-shaped widening at the end. the vertical part 4 of which comes to lie between the tongue and jaw. while the horizontal part 4 'covers the tongue and thereby protects it.
In this way, the hollow bodies come into direct contact with the saliva accumulating on both sides of the jaw, and in the vicinity of these contact points have suction openings 5 of approximately needle size. At the lowest point on the bottom in the interior of each hollow body near these openings 5, the suction tubes 6 end, the other ends of which open into a common outflow pipe 7. This is z. B. at the apex of the fork of the hollow body and comes to lie outside the mouth, and is connected to a rubber hose 8, which forms part of an ejector connected to the flushing water line.
The flowing water creates an ejector effect in the hose. as a result, saliva is sucked out through the tube 7 through the openings 5 and tubes 6.
In Figs. 2a and 2b is. the Saugvorrich device with two interconnected Holilkkörern shown, as z. B. may be required for the lower front center of the jaw. There is one hollow body 9 so that it can be inserted between the front teeth and the lower lip. Here, too, suction openings 5 are provided on the hollow body at the point at which it comes into contact with the accumulation of saliva. near one in this one. Case fork-shaped suction tube 6 ends. The other hollow body 10 is placed on the other side of the jaw, specifically under the tongue, and is also provided with suction openings 5 'near it. .las suction row 6 ends.
This part is especially important. because it is precisely at that point in the oral cavity that the salivary glands drain in. The other ends of the lines 6 and 6 'lead into the common outflow pipe 7, which is also connected to a rubber hose 8 which forms part of an ejector connected to the rinsing water line. A cross support 11 is also attached to allow the tongue to rest comfortably. welehe is fastened on the one hand to the suction row 6 'and on the other hand to the carrier 12. Suction tubes R'like carrier 12 also serve to solidly connect the two hollow bodies 9 and 10 to one another.
Here, too, the hollow bodies are in the immediate vicinity of the largest accumulation of saliva, and yet the device ensures that there is enough space in between for the unhindered treatment of the exposed tooth.
Every dentist should therefore very much welcome this invention as a practical innovation. On the one hand, it replaces the annoying wackling of the cotton swab. and on the other hand, it offers considerable advantages over the previous method, in that the suction effect is extended to a much larger area than was usual @. Furthermore, there is also a straight, long-term distancing of the tongue. The cheek to lip of the tooth to be treated can be reached.
