Precision stamping device for affixing conventional signs at specific points on maps or other documents. The main patent relates to a precision stamping device making it possible to affix conventional signs at precise points on geographical maps or other documents, and comprising for this purpose a stamp with a marker member sliding in a guide intended to be placed on it. the card or other document to be marked with a sign, so that by placing the guide in the desired position, the stamping can be carried out with precision.
According to the present invention,: said apparatus further comprises a locating member capable of sliding in the guide and comprising a point which occupies, with respect to the latter, a position coinciding with the position occupied by the central part of the member marker introduced with the stamp into the guide, a position in which the end of the point is flush with the surface on which the guide is placed, and is visible. The appended drawing represents, by way of example, several embodiments of the object of the invention, as well as some variants of detail.
Fig. 1 shows, in perspective, the guide corresponding to a first form of execution.
Fig. 2 is a section through II II of the guide of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 shows, in perspective, a frame constituting an element of the guide of FIGS. 1 and 2.
Fig. 4 shows, in perspective, the locating member placed in the guide of FIGS. 1 to 3, itself partially represented.
Fig. 5 is a section: of the locating member and shows its arrangement inside the guide.
Fig. 6 shows, in perspective, the stamp with. marker organ supplementing the set of elements of the first embodiment. Fig. 7 shows a part of the locating member, in the case of a variant enclosing an optical device.
The fi-. 8 is a perspective view of the guide and of the locating member according to a third embodiment.
The fi-. 9 is a view similar to that of fi-. 8. the locating member being replaced by the stamp. However, this figure shows a variant as regards the way in which the locating member or the stamp are centered in the guide.
The freeze. 10 is a section through XI-XI of the. freezes. 11 which is itself a plan view of the guide according to the modified embodiment of the. freezes. 9.
The freeze. 1? is a cut through XIII-ZIII of the fi-. 13, which is itself a plan view of a locating member intended to cooperate with the modified guide of the fi-. 9 to 11.
Finally, the, fil-. 14 is a cut by XV-XV of the fig. 15, which is itself a plan view of the stamp intended to cooperate with the modified guide of the pins. 9 to 11.
As seen in fi-. 1. to. 4, the guide according to the first embodiment comprises a bowl 1, the bottom of which can be entirely perforated, or partially perforated in the manner shown in phantom in fi-. 1 and 3 and which would then correspond, for example, to what has been shown in, la, fig. 6 of the main patent drawing. This bowl is provided on its periphery with a rebate ?.
allowing it to be fitted into a plate 3, which may comprise along its edges a suitably stretched metal wire 4, connecting the projecting parts of its corners, an arrangement also already described in the main patent. On the inside face of the frame 1 is provided a flange 5 which will serve , as a stop limiting the stroke of introduction of the locating member.
La Buvette and the. The assembled brochure constitutes the guide intended to be placed at the desired location, on the card or other document to be marked with a conventional symbol.
In order to obtain a very precise registration of the position of this sign with regard to this plan or to this document, a registration member will first be introduced into the guide. constituted, as shown in fi-. 4, of a rod or handle 6, in the extension of which is a tapered point 7, rod and point being supported by a cross whose arms 8, L-shaped, engage exactly by their ends in the angles bowl 1.
In this position, the ends of the small branches of the L are supported on the rim 5, while the length of the point is adjusted so that, in the pressed position, its end comes flush with the surface of the plane or document on which the guide is placed.
The section of FIG. 5 shows how the pin of the tracking gold-ass and the tip of the latter are screwed into a central body 9 of the spider and how, in the tracking position shown in fi-. 4. the point is flush with the document 10. Being screwed into the body 9, we can moreover say that this pint is of adjustable position.
The whole is moreover adjusted so that, in this position, the tapered end of the point 7 coincides with the position which will then occupy the central part of the marking member 11 of the stamp 1 \? of the freeze. 6. It is therefore clear that by bringing the end of the point 7 very exactly to the place where it is desired to mark the conventional sign, this sign will then be suitably centered with regard to said location. It will suffice for this to remove the locating member and, without moving the guide, to replace it with the stamp.
The crosspiece with four branches 8, supporting both the locating member, allows. as shown in fig. 4, to easily see the extremity of the point and the portion of the plan or document with which one wants to bring this extremity into coincidence. This visibility is all the better as the L-shaped ends of the braces can have an appreciable height, allowing the observer whose visual radius is shown at 13, to very easily follow the movements of the point on the document.
The observation of these movements can be further improved according to the variant shown in FIG. 7, which provides that the locator eye is completed by a magnifying glass g o 14, attached to the handle 6, and suitably oriented to direct the visual ray towards the tapered end, of the tip 7 , which the observer will thus see with a certain magnification.
It is obvious that the embodiments which have just been described are not limited to the use of a stamp constituted as described in connection, in FIG. 6 and that any other stamp likely to cooperate with the guide used can be used.
The embodiment according to FIG. 8 differs from the previous ones in particular by the fact that it makes it possible to ensure better visibility of the locating member. It com carries a rectangular frame, consisting of two large sides 19 and: two small sides 20 and feet in the vicinity of the angles.
The small sides 20 have internal ribs 21, located directly above the surface on which the frame, that is to say the guide, will come to rest. These two ribs each comprise a projection directed towards the interior, and whose internal edges 22 are portions of the same cylindrical surface, of a cylinder, the axis of which is perpendicular to the plane on which the guide is called. to ask for his job.
The long sides of the frame are preferably notched in 19 '.
In the guide formed by the elements just described can slide a locating member, consisting of a handle 23, a tapered tip 24, and two arms 25 each terminating at their end in a block 26 , of outer surface delimited by portions of the same cylindrical surface, identical to the cylindrical surface generating the inner faces 22 of the guide.
It is clear that this -disposition makes it possible to slide the locating member in question in said guide and to ensure it with regard to the latter a well-defined position, if care is taken, to avoid any displacement. angular by rotating these elements one inside the other, adding internal ribs to the guide such as 27.
The stamp, intended to be substituted for the locating organ which has just been described, will be made exactly like the latter as regards the manner of being maintained in the guide.
Fig. 9, which shows a guide similar to that which has just been described, and a stamp, with a marking member in place, includes a constructive variant intended to prevent a relative rotational movement of these two elements. This means consists in providing the inner cylindrical surfaces -du guide with grooves) 28r: in which the corresponding projections of the locating member or of the stamp will engage. These grooves extend, of course, in the direction of introduction of the locating member or of the stamp into the guide.
One could naturally arrange .la projection in the guide and make grooves in the locating member and in the gong.
It should be noted that the embodiment of FIG. 8 and its variant according to fi-. 9 constitute constructively simpler solutions than those according to the previous embodiments and that in particular the visibility of the point 24 is ensured there in a more perfect way, on the one hand, because there are no longer. four cross-groove arms, but simply two, and, on the other hand, because the large faces of the guide have notches 19.
Figs. 10 and Il show, in a section and a plan view, the ribs 21. Of the variant according to FIG. 9 and the grooves 28 made in the cylindrical inner parts of the latter.
Fig. 12 shows, in section, a locating member intended to cooperate with the guide shown in FIGS. 9 to Il. It consists of the handle 23, in which is screwed the point 24, which. serves at the same time -to make these two parts integral with the L-shaped arms 25, the small branches of which constituting the ends have the cylindrical surfaces n ?,
in which are screwed studs? 9, intended to cooperate with the grooves \? 8 of the help b. The plan view of the fi-. 13 can be explained without further. These two figures finally show how the large branches of the arms 95 in the shape of L extend at 30, so as to constitute stops limiting the stroke for introducing the locating member into the guide. .
Figs. 14 and 17 represent part of the corresponding stamp, without handle and without the marker organ. The drawn part of this stamp is similar to the body of the marker previously described.
In the central opening 31 will come. a handle bearing the marker member is placed, the threaded part of this opening being able to allow a corresponding threaded part of this element, designated by 32 in FIG. 9, to screw into the body shown, in order to constitute a whole. with him.
