Friction gear transmission with automatic gear change. For the relatively high engine performance of the motor vehicles or even railcars, friction gear changes have so far been used practically as power transmission gears, since the large transmission forces at the points of engagement of the friction wheels require very high contact pressures, which result in heavy wear. In order to reduce the wear and tear, friction gears have become known which only actively increase the contact pressure when this is necessary due to increasing loads. This probably reduces the wear and tear.
However, since the friction wheels are also in engagement during the period of low stress and are therefore subject to wear, the reduction in wear is not so great that these known designs would have been used for the large transmission capacities of vehicles. In addition, the translation was only changed by hand in these gearboxes. However, today's traffic places such high demands on the driver's attention that it is imperative to strive for gearboxes that set the necessary gear ratio between the engine and vehicle axles completely automatically.
It goes without saying that this requirement of the automatic gear ratio change complicates the structural design of the friction gear change gear even more, and that in order to stay within the space and weight limits given for vehicles, the stresses at the points of engagement of the friction wheels are driven even higher must, but this increases their wear and tear.
In order to decisively improve the question of wear and service life that is opposed to the use of the automatic friction gear, which meet all the other requirements for a continuously variable transmission of high efficiency, two branches are provided for the power transmission in the automatic friction gear according to the invention, one of which contains the actual friction gear with automatic translation change in order to allow the power transmission via the branch containing the friction wheel only to be followed if necessary. The other (direct) branch is advantageously always switched on when z.
B. the required output torque is not greater than the drive torque. The alternate activation of the two branches can, as will be shown in the following with reference to exemplary embodiments from, take place in different ways, with the solution of the automatic switching in particular results in a significant advance.
In the accompanying drawings, various embodiments of the invention are shown ver.
1 shows a longitudinal section and FIG. 2 shows a cross section of the first embodiment; Fig. 3 shows a longitudinal section and Figs. 4 and 5 show cross sections of part of the automatic changeover device of the second embodiment; Fig. 6 shows the longitudinal section of the third and Fig. 7 shows the longitudinal section of the fourth embodiment.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the switchover is carried out either directly or by a servo motor, by hand or automatically, with two switch positions. In the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 to 5, the friction wheel gear itself is used as a coupling for one branch by disengaging the friction disks for decoupling, while the direct branch is switched on by an automatic coupling, for example . In the embodiments according to FIGS. 6 and 7, the switching of the two branches is automatically effected by a planetary gear transmission built in front of the friction gear.
In the above-mentioned four Ausfüh approximately used friction gear are for the purpose of accommodating numerous input; gripping points in a small space on the central splined shaft a as friction wheels several conical disks b slidably lined up, while as counter friction wheels to reduce relative sliding with a narrow running edge provided with a narrow running edge c on several (three are shown) spline shafts d are also slidably arranged. The splined shafts d are rotatably mounted in pivot levers e, which are keyed onto continuous axes f. If the pivot levers e are rotated about the axes f in the direction of the arrow (full arrows in FIG. 2), the outer splined shafts d (outer shafts) approach the splined shaft a (central shaft).
The peripheral disks c dip deeper between the conical disks b, whereby the translation between the central shaft a and the outer shafts d is increased. The conical disks b are pushed apart axially against the force of the spring g, which generates the contact pressure necessary for driving. This can be brought into any ge wished depending on the translation by appropriate training of the spring g. But also of other state variables, such as B. the drive speed, the contact pressure can be brought by the spring g in a simple manner in dependence, as z. B. is indicated in Fig. 1 by the centrifugal weights h.
So that the outer shafts d have the same distance from the central shaft a at all translations, the pivoting movements of the pivot lever e can inevitably, z. B. be kept the same by the ring i. The rotation of this coupling ring from the outside by the lever k allows the setting of any translation ratio.
The automatic change in the gear ratio occurs through the tooth pressure Z between the gears l seated on the splined shafts d and the gears na loosely rotatably seated on the pivot axes f due to the fact that its equally large, oppositely directed reaction force g at the bearing points of the outer shafts d attacks in the direction of the arrow and pushes the peripheral disks c so deeply between the conical disks b until the sum of the force components acting radially outwards, resulting from the axial pressure of the spring g of the force K, maintains the balance. The above-mentioned design of the spring g can, for.
B. can be achieved that with twice the output torque, the translation increases to twice the value, d. H. the output speed drops to half the value, thus the output and thus also the drive power remain the same, whereby the drive speed and drive torque also remain unchanged. The special training and effect of the friction gear change according to Fig. 1 and 2 are as follows: The center shaft a of the actual friction gear is - translated into high speed - on the gears z 'and z "from the right clutch disc K' of the two-position clutch, if their Middle disk I <B> 7 </B> is pressed against it.
The power transmission from the gears m to the output shaft o takes place via the gears m ', <I> m', </I> n 'and J, which the latter drives the output shaft via the freewheel u, which is designed so that the wheel e takes the shaft o with it as long as it wants to run slower than the wheel n ". If you want to use the gearbox for infinitely variable braking by driving the motor from the vehicle axle into high speed, the freewheel u must be in a known manner lockable be directed,
so that the shaft o transfers its torque to the wheel n '' and - translated into high speed by the friction gear transmission via the coupling disk IC to the motor. The edge disks are pressed by hand by the lever kc more or less deep between the conical disks b. The output shaft is rigidly connected at its front end to the left clutch disc I <B> C </B>, against which the central disc is shifted by hand or automatically when the required output torque is less than the drive torque of the motor. In this embodiment, the direct branch thus consists of the clutch disc K 'and the output shaft o. Instead of a clutch with two switched-on positions, two separate clutches could also be provided.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 to 5, the power is transmitted from the flywheel s of the engine either via the gears z ', z', the central shaft a, the friction discs b, c, the outer shafts d and the gears <I> 1, </I> m, <I> n ', n "</I> on the gear n"', whereby the wheel n "'drives the output shaft o via the claw coupling o', or via the direct branch consisting of the Ge thread G ', the coupling shaft y and the coupling K4 also on the wheel n "'.
The translation of the friction gear and the switch from one power transmission branch to the other takes place here depending on the torque ratio; in the input and output shaft. This relationship is brought into effect on a device in one or both branches. which automatically switches from one power transmission branch to the other at a certain value of the ratio. The operation of such a device is explained in more detail below.
As long as the required output torque is greater than the engine torque, the peripheral disks c plunge between the conical disks b. If, on the other hand, the output torque falls, the outer shafts <I> d </I> move further and further away from the central shaft <I> a </I> until the conical disks b sit on one another and the peripheral disks c come out of engagement. At this moment the coupling ring <I> i </I> is rotated a little further by the lever 1c in that the dead point spring k 'passes over the pivot point of the lever k and rotates it further in the direction of the arrow.
The edge disks are lifted out of the conical disks and the power transmission via the branch of the friction gear is interrupted.
During this last rotation of the coupling ring <I> i </I>, its recess <I> j </I> (see FIG. 5) causes the roller p and thus the coupling shaft y to be shifted to the right via the adjusting disk y ' released under the pressure of the springs h ', whereby the clutch K' comes into engagement, so that now the power transmission takes place via the direk th branch. If the output torque then rises again above the engine torque, the springs h 'are compressed by the axial stroke of the thread G', and the shaft y with the coupling disc is shifted to the left, thereby releasing the clutch K 'of the direct branch .
At the same time, via the adjusting disk y 'and the roller p, the coupling ring i is rotated over its inclined surface j' to such an extent that the dead center spring <I> k '</I> over the pivot point of the lever <I> k </I> is lifted back and the lever k continues to rotate in the direction of the arrow, whereby the Reibschei ben b and c come back into engagement. This means that the power is transmitted again via the branch with the friction gear.
In this embodiment, too, the motor can be driven at high speed via the friction gear and used as a stepless brake in that the edge disks c are pressed more or less deep between the conical disks b by hand by the lever k. Furthermore, the gear ratio change and the switchover can also take place here as a function of the torque ratio in the drive and output shaft as a function of the speed in one of these shafts.
If the dog clutch o 'is shifted to the right, the output shaft o is driven in reverse gear via the wheels n4, n', n '.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, the outer shafts d and the swivel levers e are carried with their axes f by a drum q which is supported by the bearings r and r 'in the gear housing q'. In this drum, the outer gear s of a planetary gear is built, whose planet gears s' driven by the stub shaft t who, while his sun gear s "is firmly wedged on the central shaft a and drives it with translation at high speed.
As long as the output torque on the output shaft o is greater than the drive torque on the shaft stub t, there is no difference compared to the embodiment described above; because the drum q is pressed by the torque difference (Re action torque) against the drive direction of rotation against the freewheel u, so stands still. Only when, with decreasing output torque, the edge disks have stepped out of the conical disks so far that the overall ratio from the drive shaft stub t to the output shaft o reaches the value 1, i.e. H. The drive and output torque as well as the drive and output speed are the same, drum g begins to rotate simultaneously in the direction of drive rotation.
This reduces the speed difference between the drive shaft stub t and the outer edge s, thus also the speed of the planetary gears s', the sun gear s "and the central shaft a. The drum q rotates faster because it only has accelerating forces the planet gears s' stand still on their pin, and the speed of the sun wheel s "and the center shaft a is equal to the drive speed BEZW. Because of the condition that the gear ratio is 1, it is equal to the output speed.
Then there is a further increase in the drum speed, which at that moment also drives the drive or. Output speed is, and since with a further decrease in the speed of the sun gear and the central shaft a under these all other rotating parts ge common speed prevented by the freewheel v, which blocks an opposite rotation of the central shaft a and the output shaft o. This means that all parts of the transmission now rotate at the same speed and the friction disks are mutually at rest. In order to cancel the moment of centrifugal force of the peripheral disks c about the pivot axes f, counterweights w are placed on the pivot levers.
The same effect as by the freewheel v can also be achieved by the fact that the edge disks c, as indicated by dashed lines in Fig. 6, in their outermost position frictionally place themselves against the inner side of the drum q and there by the coupling of all rotating Effect parts.
In order not to allow the heavy peripheral disks to rotate at full engine speed with higher transmission powers in the clutch state just described, according to FIG. 7 the transmission can be designed in such a way that the friction disks are then not only mutually, but also stand still in the room.
To achieve this, a planetary gear drive is also installed on the output side, the outer gear x of which is coupled to the outer gear s of the planetary gear drive on the drive side via gears x2 and s2 through the shaft <I> y </I> mounted in the housing q ' . The sun gear <I> x "</I> is driven by the gear wheels m mounted on the pivot axes f via the common gear wheel n. The planet gears x 'drive the output shaft o via their bearing journals.
As long as the output torque on the shaft o is greater than the drive torque on the shaft stub t, i.e. H. as long as the total gear ratio is less than 1, there is no difference compared to the embodiment according to FIG. 6; because the shaft y and the outer wheel x are pressed by the torque difference (reaction torque) - as in Fig. 6, the drum q against the freewheel u, so stand still.
Only when, as there, the peripheral disks c have stepped out of the conical disks b so far that the overall ratio reaches the value 1, the wheels x ', x2, s and s2 as well as the shaft y begin to rotate faster and faster in the same direction in the drive direction of rotation, while the speed of the sun wheels s "and x" sinks to a standstill, yes, they would even reverse their direction of rotation if they were not blocked by the freewheel v.
Of course, the individual parts of the planetary gear can swap their roles, d. H. it could e.g. B. the planet gears <I> x '</I> are driven by the gear n and the output shaft o by the sun gear x ".
The mode of operation of the execution form according to Fig. 7 is the same as that of Fig. 6, only now in the dome state the planet gears are not still on their pins because they rotate with the drive speed and the planet gears are on the stationary sun gears s Pass off "and x". Furthermore, the outer gears do not revolve here with the drive speed, but faster according to the gear ratio sen in the planetary gears.
