Slotted magnetron tube with four or more anode segments for ultrashort waves. The invention relates to a slot magnetron tube with four or more anode segments for ultrashort waves, in which two groups are formed at one end of the axially symmetrical anode system, between which there is an oscillating structure, by directly connecting segments oscillating in phase.
In the case of magnetron tubes with multiple subdivided anodes, it is common practice to connect individual segments to one another via connecting brackets. Up to now, however, these connecting brackets have always had the disadvantage that their design brought an asymmetry into the electrode system and the mutual segment capacitance was increased.
This resulted in an increase in the wavelength that was undesirable compared to expectations. The invention relates to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the groups connecting the antiphase segment groups: resonant circuit; due to which significantly shorter shafts can be achieved with normal size ratios.
The invention consists in that the oscillation system surrounds the entire anode system as a rotationally symmetrical jacket.
An embodiment of the tube according to the invention is shown in FIG. 1. Here, the space between anode segments and cathode, which is not closed off by the oscillating structure S, can be closed off by special cover plates A from. These cover plates are capacitive with the outside at ground potential,
of the oscillating structure S, so that the whole system does not emit any radiation and therefore works without damping. The cathode leads can also be capacitively coupled directly to the plates A or the oscillating structure S, that is to say kept at ground potential in terms of high frequencies.
The exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1 relates to the simpler drawing, because of only a four-slot magnetron. However, the invention is of particular advantage in. highly subdivided anode systems with, for example, eight or more segments, since the problem was previously unsolved, the disruptive capacities and the other disruptive ones. Avoid the influence of the segment connection bracket.
In addition, no structurally favorable solution for highly subdivided tubes was previously known. The inven tion is of course also suitable for those types of tubes, in which a neutral segment is arranged between two oscillating systems. The neutral segments can then be connected to one another by a ring surrounding the system.
In the case of the described tube according to FIG. 1, the energy consumption is to be carried out, for example, in such a way that the vibration energy is capacitively, inductively or galvanically decoupled through an opening in the vibration system 8 or in one of the plates A.
This embodiment of a slot magnetron has the advantage that the inductivity of the oscillating structure can be kept so small that the anode and thus the effective length of the cathode can be sufficiently large for a given wave.
However, there is the disadvantage that the tuning cannot be changed noticeably from the outside. To remedy this inconvenience is the subject of the further exemplary embodiments of the invention.
For this purpose, the circular pot-like shape, rotationally symmetrical oscillating structure is not completely closed on the circumference and is connected to the oscillating, the anode segments carry the side walls each with a conductor of a parallel conductor system. By moving a short circuit bridge along the parallel ladder system, it is possible to change the natural frequency of the oscillating structure within limits that are sufficient in practice; In addition, such a system is capable of delivering a comparatively large vibration power.
In the drawing, a Ausführungsbei play such a tube is shown, namely Fig. 2 shows an elevation and Fig. 3 is a plan view of the partially sectioned system. The oscillating system T, similar to a circular pot, consists of two flat metal plates D, which are circular in their basic shape. Are connected by a metal cylinder Z circumference. A pair of Ano densegmenten a and b is attached to the flat plates.
The cathode k is arranged in the middle between the anode segments and passed through openings in the end faces D. The discharge space is penetrated by a magnetic field parallel to the cathode. In the operating state, neighboring anode segments a and b vibrate in opposite phase.
Part of the AC voltage drop occurs along the anode segments, while the rest is distributed over the circular cover plates D and the cylinder circumference Z. In order to keep the capacity of the anode segments against the cover plate D opposite them as small as possible. the free ends of the anode segments, as can be seen from Fig. 2, beveled. The alternating voltage drop occurring along the circular cover plates should be used to couple a power line.
For this purpose, part of the cylinder jacket Z is cut away and at this point a conductor of a parallel conductor system L is connected to the cover plates D . Because, as already mentioned, only part of the AC voltage drop. is not applicable to the anode segments, the parallel conductor system must have a low wave resistance in order to be well adapted.
For this purpose the parallel conductor system does not consist of wires, but of flat metal strips. Fig. 4 shows the transition from Bän countries to bars immediately behind the pot circle.
The adaptation can be facilitated by the fact that the cover plates D are not continued in their basic shape (circle) at their connection point with the parallel conductor system L, as shown in dashed lines in FIG. 4, but are instead provided with sector-shaped cutouts S are. The angle of this sector flies between 8 and 20 ', for example, so it is very acute.
It is not necessary to give the cover plates D a circular shape, but they can also be square, rectangular or polygonal in shape; The association part Z is then executed in a corresponding manner.
If one provides a short-circuit bridge on the parallel conductor system, which is expediently arranged outside the vacuum vessel, changes in the natural frequency of the oscillating structure of, for example, 15 can be achieved by shifting the same.
Since such oscillating structures are primarily suitable for centimeter waves, the achievable frequency change is completely sufficient to adjust the system to a prescribed operating wave or to compensate for inaccuracies in the manufacture of the system, insofar as they affect the operating frequency.
