Description

Footrest. The present invention relates to a footrest made of a rigid material such as metal.

Footrests of this type have the disadvantage that the weight of the body resting on the footrest, especially at the point where the front edge of the support rests on the insole of the shoe, causes the leather to be chafed or even cut through over time. To remedy this disadvantage, it has been proposed to place a pad under this abrasive leading edge, e.g. B. made of leather or fiber. However, this solution only remains effective for a short time by also scrubbing or cutting the surface.

According to the present invention, the mentioned disadvantage of such footrests can be completely avoided by a support body is attached to the footrest in the vicinity of this front edge of the footrest, the support surface of which is approximately in one plane with this edge. This support body carries the body weight over the two-way largest possible bearing surface of the same on the shoe, so that the mentioned front edge of the footrest can no longer cut into the insole.

An exemplary embodiment of a footrest according to the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing, namely FIG. 1 shows a view from below, FIG. 2 shows a side view and FIG. 3 shows an end view of the same.

The footrest shown has a metal plate which is arched according to the sole shape of a normal foot in order to support the heel at 1, the arch of the foot at 2 and the metatarsal at 3. Near the front edge 4 of the plate, a support body 5 is attached to the same, by a rivet or screw 6. The support surface 7 of the support body is in one plane with the front edge of the metal plate, so that the weight of the body resting on the footrest is Larger part of this body by transferring to the insole 8 (Fig. 2) and the edge 4 is largely relieved.

Instead of being in the longitudinal center of the footrest, the support body could also be shifted more to one side or the other in order to relieve the corresponding part of the edge 4 more. The support body can be made of rubber, celluloid or any other, two different, but moderately therinoplastic material, in order to form its abutment flitclie on the footrest by pressing it while it is warm.
