Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung vou massbeständigen Gegenständen mit Oberflächenprägnng.
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Ver fahren zur je Herstellung von massbeständigen Gegenständen mit Oberflächenprägung, und zwar wird im Sinne der Erfindung derart verfahren, dass ein Kunststoff mit einer an ihrer Oberfläche unebenen massbeständigen Unterlage vereinigt wird, indem unter Anwendung von Druck und Hitze der Kunststoff in die vertieften Stellen der Unterlagen eingepresst und gleichzeitig dabei auf der Oberfläche geprägt wird.
Die Unebenheiten können durch Erhöhungen und Vertiefungen oder durch Durchbrechungen im Material gebildet sein. So kann die Unterlage aus einem Teil, an dem ein Gitter befestigt ist, bestehen, oder sie kann sonstwie uneben oder mechanisch oder chemisch an der Oberfläche aufgerauht sein. Da in jedem dieser Fälle die Oberfläche der Unterlage uneben ist, dringt der Kunststoff bei Anwendung von Druck und Hitze in die vertieften Stellen der Unterlage ein, wodurch der Kunststoff mit der Unterlage eine sehr innige Verbindung eingeht. Es kann sich bei der Prägung z. B. um eine Masseinteilung oder um eine Beschriftung oder um beliebig andere Schriftzüge und Verzierungen handeln. Prägbare, also bildsame Kunststoffe sind nicht massbeständig, wie z. B.
Metall, Metall aber kann nicht durch einen Prägungsvorgang mit einer Teilung oder Beschriftung versehen werden. Indem nun erfindungsgemäss verfahren wird, erreicht man, auch wenn man anstatt Metall einen andern massbeständigen Stoff als Unterlage verwendet, einen massbeständigen und doch prägbare 1 Werkstoff.
Hiernach kann zum Beispiel ein Massstab hoher Zuverlässigkeit hergestellt werden, und zwar unter gleichzeitiger Erzeugung der Teilung oder Beschriftung in einem Arbeitsgang.
Die Unterlage kann aus irgend einem Metall oder aus irgend einer Metall-Legierung oder auch aus einem massbeständigen Kunststoff bestehen, z. B. aus Hartgummi oder Kunstharz, oder auch aus besonders präparierten Hölzern, die zum Beispiel aus einzelnen mit einander verleimten und mit kunstharz, Lacken oder dergleichen imprägnierten Schichten bestehen.
Die Unterlage kann auch auf beiden Seiten mit einer Kunststoffschicht vereinigt werden, wobei je nach Bedarf die eine oder beide Kunststoffschichten gleichzeitig mit der Herstellung des Gegenstandes eine Prägung erhalten. Der Kunststoff kann z. B. aus Zelluloid bestehen, und er kann zum Beispiel unter einem Druck von 0,1 atü und einer Temperatur von 1000 C in die vertieften Stellen eingepresst werden.

The present invention relates to a process for the production of dimensionally stable objects with surface embossing, and in the sense of the invention the procedure is such that a plastic is combined with a dimensionally stable substrate that is uneven on its surface by applying pressure and heat to the plastic the recessed areas of the documents are pressed in and at the same time embossed on the surface.
The unevenness can be formed by elevations and depressions or by openings in the material. For example, the base can consist of a part to which a grid is attached, or it can be otherwise uneven or mechanically or chemically roughened on the surface. Since the surface of the base is uneven in each of these cases, the plastic penetrates into the recessed areas of the base when pressure and heat are applied, as a result of which the plastic forms a very intimate connection with the base. It can be in the embossing z. B. a graduation or a lettering or any other lettering and decorations. Embossable, so plastic plastics are not dimensionally stable, such. B.
Metal, metal, however, cannot be provided with a division or lettering using an embossing process. By now proceeding according to the invention, even if another dimensionally stable material is used as a base instead of metal, a dimensionally stable and yet stampable material is achieved.
In this way, for example, a highly reliable rule can be produced, with the simultaneous generation of the graduation or lettering in one operation.
The base can consist of any metal or any metal alloy or also of a dimensionally stable plastic, e.g. B. made of hard rubber or synthetic resin, or made of specially prepared woods, which consist, for example, of individual layers glued together and impregnated with synthetic resin, varnish or the like.
The base can also be combined with a plastic layer on both sides, with one or both plastic layers being embossed at the same time as the object is manufactured, depending on requirements. The plastic can e.g. B. made of celluloid, and it can be pressed into the recessed areas, for example, under a pressure of 0.1 atmospheres and a temperature of 1000 C.
