Description
Water drainage device for roofs, with heating device for melting snow and ice. The present invention relates to a water drainage device for roofs, with a heating device for melting snow and ice. The subject of the invention is characterized by at least one heating cable and a pipe that is open on one side and is used to accommodate and protect the heating cable,
which, together with the heating cable, is inserted into the water drainage duct to be heated.
The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a heating cable of the Heizvor direction, in cross section, greatly enlarged; 2 shows a code of the water drainage device with an inserted heating device.
The water drainage device shown has a roof panel 7, in the interior of which a heating device consisting of a protective tube 6 and two heating cables 1 to 5 is used for melting ice and snow.
The protective tube is open on one side, i.e. it is slotted, and has an approximately oval shape. Cross-section and consists of elec tric insulating material such. B. Asbestos cement.
The. Protective tube is inserted into Kennel 7 with the open side pointing downwards. As can be seen in FIG. 2, the edges of the protective tube slot are bent inwards, so that two grooves are created inside the tube for receiving a heating cable each. Between. The bent edges of the protective pipe slot remain a free drainage space for the meltwater.
In addition to the mechanical protection of the cable, the protective tube 6 has the task of reducing the heat radiation downwards, so that the electrical energy used is best as possible for the melting process of snow or. Ice is used. This allows the desired effect to be achieved with a relatively low electrical power. This shape also ensures unhindered drainage of water.
The heating cables 1 to 5 set in the grooves of the protective tube each have a heating conductor 1, which can be single or multi-wire and is surrounded by an impregnated fiber insulation 2, which the latter ensures a high level of electrical insulation and is highly heat resistant. Over this insulation 2 there is a seamless lead jacket 4 and over it a protective and wire braid 5 made of stainless metal wires.
This. Wire mesh gives the heating cable great tensile strength, so that similar heating devices as the one described, can be built into vertical drainage pipes in greater lengths without hesitation.
