Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines sauren, violetten Triphenylmethanfarbstoffes. Das Verfahren ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man den Farbstoff folgender Konstitution

mit 5-Arnino-2-oxybenzoesänre umsetzt. Der neue Farbstoff färbt Wolle und Seide in schi- klaren, violetten Tönen von der Lichtecht heit 4.

werden in 75 ems Pyridin -{-- 15 cm' Wasser mit 6,3 g 5-Amino-2-oxybenzoesäure 15 Stun den lang auf dem kochenden Wasserbade erwärmt. Nach dem Erkalten wird der in goldgelben Kristallen ausgeschiedene Farb stoff genutscht, mit salzsäurehaltigem Wasser das Pyridin ausgewaschen und der Farbstoff getrocknet. Er färbt Wolle und Seide in sehr klaren Tönen violett von der Lichtechtheit 4.
