Method and machine for the production of bags, envelopes or the like. From paper or the like. Tapes, and according to the method produced bags, envelopes or the like. The invention relates to the manufacture of bags, envelopes or the like from paper or like bands, z. B.
Bags made of clear or translucent visose material and the like, and more particularly the invention relates to methods and machines in which tubular sheet material is drawn over, for example, a mold plate or equivalent guide member and brought into the cut-off or tear-off position, e.g. B. by roles that are able to temporarily increase the train on the tubular material during the cutting process and to support the tear-off or cutting process.
The purpose of the invention is to enable the production of bags or envelopes or the like from paper or similar material expediently on high-speed bag-making machines in an efficient manner and without any waste of material.
According to the invention, one band zone, which is intended to form one side of the finished bag ei-c., Is weakened or perforated according to lines running transversely to the band, namely before the tearing or cutting process, by the Width of the sheet material this ge is separated or torn off by means of a cutting or tearing process, which takes place at the same time as the exercise of a train on the tubular sheet material formed here, sufficient to tear off the weakened or perforated side of the tubular sheet material along the aforementioned Lines.
In a practical embodiment of the invention, the sheet material is passed through in the transverse direction and over a part of the width between means for its perforation at regular intervals before being folded in tube form, this part being arranged so that when the sheet material is folded into tube form , the perforated part is on one side and the non-perforated part on the other. -After leaving the folding step, the tubular sheet material is drawn through suitable rollers along a mold plate in this example of the method, and is working close to the mold plate.
a transversely arranged cutting knife is provided for cutting through the non-perforated side of the material, and a press bar can work with the perforated side of the material, the knife and bar being arranged so that they are practically simultaneously on the tubular Act on sheet material and with closely adjacent working edges.
Means may be provided to temporarily increase the tension on the sheet material when the knife and press bar are engaged with the same, and this temporary increased tension in cooperation with the pressure exerted by the press bar tears the perforated side of the tubular sheet material, while rend the cutting knife cuts through the other side.
With suitable means for this purpose, the tubular sheet material is pulled off the mold plate by means of a pair of rollers, one of the rollers having a larger diameter over a short part of its circumference, which part has the tubular sheet material shortly before and captured during clipping.
The perforation of the sheet material he follows preferably before folding in tubular form, but it can also be vorgenom men when the sheet material is in tubular form, for. B. when it runs over the mold plate.
If desired, the web can be pre-scored at the locations corresponding to the position of the flaps of the envelope in order to facilitate the folding of the flap. If the flap is intended to be taped shut, a suitable adhesive can be applied to the locations of the web which are intended to result in the flaps.
For a clear understanding of the invention, an embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing, for example.
It shows: Fig. 1 in a plan view, the type of arrangement of the perforations in the Blattmate rial, z. B. paper tape in the production of bags or envelopes, in which flaps or cutouts on the with. the adhesive fold provided side, Fig. 2 is a schematic elevation, the various stages of the essential Ope rations, Fig. 3 is a plan view of an expedient form of a perforating roller.
Fig. 4 is a cross section to Fig. 3, Fig. 5 is a plan view of a separated bag or envelope part with the flap and the corresponding Ausnit th on the side of the adhesive folds and Fig. 6 is a plan view of a separated bag or envelope part with flap and a corresponding cutout on the side of the bag or envelope opposite the side of the adhesive fold.
Referring to the drawing, the arrangement of Fig.?. Shows that in the sheet material? at regular intervals, after substantially transverse to the tape edge guided perforations (Fig. 1) are made, these, substantially transverse perforation lines extending over a length which corresponds to the width of one side of the subsequently folded tubular sheet material ent.
Preferably, the perforations of the sheet material after the lines 1 are made before folding into the tubular shape, and for this purpose the sheet material is, as in Fig. shown, carried out before reaching the folding step 3 between a rubber-clad roller 4 and a roller 5 which carries a perforated knife 6. When the sheet material is folded into tubular form and drawn between the rollers 7 and 8 over the mold plates 9, the upper side contains the transverse lines of the perforation 1, this upper side being the one with the glue fold.
With the underside of the tubular sheet material works, close to the form plate 9 then, a cutting knife 10, z. B. a knife that jumps at the required angle from the rotatable roller 11 before, together and cuts through the underside or lower layer of the material when the same leaves the mold plate.
With the upper side of the tubular sheet material and practically simultaneously with the knife 10, a pressure bar 12 with a blunt, free edge acts with the underside in such a way that the cutting process of the knife is not disturbed and yet a pressure or a slight twist is exerted on the Upper side of the tubular sheet material is exercised in order to tear it off along the corresponding perforated lines 1.
To a simultaneous, effective cutting of the underside and tearing along the perforated lines 1 at the rollers 7, 8 to be effective, so simultaneously with the processing th of the sheet material between the knife 10 and the bar 12, the material is when it is pulled from the mold plate, temporarily tensioned, which is caused by a roller of the roller pair 13, 14, which pulls the sheet material during Trennvor, a part 15 with a larger diameter, which with the tubular sheet material immediately and during the cutting in Engagement.
The means for perforating the sheet material are shown in their preferred Ausfüh approximate shape in FIGS. On both ends of the roller 5, these means have a thin knife 16 with a serrated perforating blade 17, which is detachably fixed between a block 18 and a plate 19 in a groove 20 of the roller 5. The inner ends of the knives 16 are curved towards the periphery of the roller 5. Screws 23, which enforce the adjacent parts of the roller, the plate 19 and the block 18, allow the required clamping.
In most cases, the sheet material is separated so that flaps of the bag etc. are obtained at the end of each separating operation, one of the flaps being folded over and glued against one side of the separated sack. For this purpose, the block 18 is provided with rounded corners 18a (but can also be curved ge over the entire length), on the side which cooperates with the knife 16, the plate 19 is curved accordingly.
The perforation of the sheet material before the folding process is advantageous when bags or envelopes are made, in which end flaps 21 (Fig. 5) and accordingly shaped cutouts 22 on the side of the glue fold 23a formed by overlapping and gluing the longitudinal edges of the sheet material, are arranged.
However, if flap 21 and cutout 22 are arranged to run transversely on the seam-free side (Fig. 6), the perforation of this page can be obtained by a perforating tool, which with one side of the mold plate 9 or with an additional union plate cooperates. This plate can, if desired, have a plurality of smaller openings for receiving the teeth of the perforating tool, or it can be provided with a rubber coating on the corresponding side; the plate is able to move together with the tool when perforating.
The above-described method for perforating and cutting off the opposite ends of the tubular material has the advantage of producing bags or envelope parts in which the end flaps 21 are ready to be folded onto the bag or envelope, and the cut-out ends can easily be glued are made by folding each tubular section along the transverse line? 4 and pressing the non-recessed end part against the outer surface of the side of the bag,
which has the flap 21. In this way, there is no waste of material and even though the predominant part of the glued part only contains a simple layer of the folded over, not recessed side part of the bag or the envelope. the corners are thicker and stronger because they contain the side edge portions '25 of the cutouts 22.
