Description

Self-winding elongated watch movement. The object of the invention is an elongated watch movement with automatic winding having a mass oscillating around the center of a drive wheel, a center which is located in a plane on the small axis of symmetry of the movement, closer from the middle than from the edge thereof, the radius of gyration of the mass being practically equal to ià. half of the major axis of symmetry of the movement.

In movements of this kind, the oscillating mass takes the form of a steering wheel segment and generally has a reinforced rim which is engaged and moves in a groove in the plate, concentric with the pivoting center of the mass.

The purpose of this arrangement is to increase the weight and hence the moment of inertia of the oscillating mass, the material being accumulated especially towards the periphery of the oscillating mass.

The object of the invention is to increase the weight of the oscillating mass as much as possible, especially in small-format parts where the moment of inertia of the oscillating mass is often insufficient.

For this purpose, the oscillating weight is engaged by its arched rim, in a slot drilled right through in the plate of the movement frame, this slot being arranged along an arc of a circle concentric with the center of oscillation of the mass. .

As a result, the rim of the oscillating mass can extend right up to the dial fixed to the plate, so that the weight and hence the kinetic energy of the mass is greater than that of an oscillating mass of the same. spoke, but the rim of which is less deeply engaged in the plate.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a plan view thereof, the movement being represented only by the parts essential to the understanding of the invention; fig. 2 is a section taken along line II-II of FIG. 1. The body of the movement, barrel-shaped, comprises a plate 4 and a bridge â fixed on the plate.

On the small axis of symmetry of the frame is pivoted at 6, closer to the middle than to the edge of the frame, the ascent wheel 7 controlled by an impulse ratchet 8 pivoted at 9 to the impulse mass 10 and subjected to the action of a return spring 11.

The impulse mass 10, formed by a flywheel segment, comprises an arcuate rim 10 'which, relatively wide, is engaged in a slot 12 pierced right through in the plate 4 and arranged in an arc of a circle concentric with the center of rotation 6 of the. winding wheel 7, this center 6 also being the center of oscillation of mass 10.

Slot 12 provides the. possibility of penetrating the rim 10 'of the mass to the proximity of the dial 13 fixed to the plate 4, as shown in FIG. 2 of the drawing.
