Kraftstoff-Fürderanlage an Einspritzbrennkraftmaschinen.
Fuel delivery system on injection internal combustion engines. The invention relates to a fuel delivery system on injection internal combustion engines, with at least one hand pump with which fuel can be delivered to the suction space provided in the injection pump housing, common to all single injection pumps, and at least one delivery pump that feeds fuel during operation promotes the suction chamber.
The air contained in the lines leading to the suction chamber in the injection pump housing and in the suction chamber itself before the machine is started is usually displaced by fuel by operating the hand pump before starting. Previously, this air was diverted via a Rücklei branching off from the suction chamber of the injection pump to the reservoir or to the suction side of the feed pump.
The return line required for this is undesirable in some cases. According to the invention, however, this return line can be omitted entirely, in that an air outlet connected to the upper part of the suction chamber has such a constriction,
that when the hand pump is actuated after the air has been displaced from the suction chamber and after the constriction has been reached by the fuel, the pressure increase occurring before the constriction can be felt on the hand pump, and that the constriction is felt at the latest after the delivery by the delivery pump increases the pressure increase mentioned so that
that a shut-off member is moved into a position blocking the air outlet against a force acting on it.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
1 shows the diagram of an exemplary embodiment and FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the air outlet connected to the suction chamber of the injection pump housing.
An injection pump 1 is through the pressure lines? connected to the injection nozzles of an internal combustion engine (not shown). A fuel storage tank 3, which is located at a distance from the injection system and lower than it, is connected to the suction side of two feed pumps 6a and 6b via pipes 4a and 4b in which storage halls 5 are arranged.
The pressure side of both feed pumps is via pipes 14 '. 16 'and 7 with an air separator 8 verbun the. The end of the pipe 7 connected to the air separator sticks from below into the interior of the air separator, and opens out below the lowest fuel level that can be reached during operation. A second pipe 9 connects the air separator 8 with the suction chamber 1 a of the injection pump 1, which is common to all injection pumps; it sticks into the interior of the air separator from above.
A float 10 carries a pin 10a on its part protruding from the fuel level, the free pointed end of which is designed as a valve cone. A pipe 11 is connected to the upper part of the air separator housing opposite this pointed end, which opens into the suction pipe 12 of the internal combustion engine.
A hand pump 13 is arranged in the suction line 4a of the feed pump da. whose working space is connected to the pipe 1a during operation. so that the fuel can get from the reservoir to the feed pump.
The suction and pressure sides of the feed pump 6a are connected by a pipe 1.4 and in this a pumping valve 15 is provided which opens towards the di-uekseit.e of the feed pump. The suction and pressure sides of the feed pump 6b are also connected to one another by a pipe 16. in which a check valve 17 opening towards the suction side of the feed pump is arranged.
An outlet opening 18 is provided in the injection pump housing at the end of the suction chamber opposite the junction of the pipe 9 into the suction chamber 1 a of the injection pump, which outlet opens from the highest point of the suction chamber. One end of a pipe res 20 is connected to this outlet via a valve 19 forming an air outlet, the other end of which opens into the pipe 11 connected to the suction pipe 12 of the machine.
As FIG. 2 shows, the housing 21 of the valve consisting of a sleeve is provided with a blind hole and is attached to the housing of the injection pump, the outlet 18 of the suction chamber opening into the blind hole.
In the blind hole of the Ventilge housing a movable piston 22 is fitted you tend but slidably. Between the piston forming a closing member and the bottom of the valve housing, a coil spring 23 is housed, which tries to push the piston onto a seat provided at the left end of the housing bore in the valve housing.
A arranged in the upper part of the piston bore 24 opens on the one hand to the piston face facing the suction chamber and on the other hand to the upper one telfläche of the piston. In the upper wall of the valve housing a bore 25 is provided which opens into the tube 20 forming the air discharge line which is fastened to the valve housing. A screw 26 provided in the wall of the valve housing protrudes into a longitudinal groove of the piston and secures it against rotation. At the right end of the piston a pin 27 is hen vorgese which limits the displacement.
With the aid of the hand pump 13, when the machine is at a standstill, fuel can be taken from the storage container 3 and pressed as far as the feed pump 6a. As soon as a certain pressure is reached in front of the feed pump, the pump-over valve 15 opens when the hand pump is operated further, so that, bypassing the feed pump, fuel flows through the pipe 14 to the pressure side of the feed pump 6ca and through the pipe 7 is conveyed into the air separator 8.
This allows the air expelled from Aden pipes 4a, 14, 7 and possibly also from pipes 16, 16 'and 14', as well as some of the air displaced from the air separator housing 8 by the fuel, to escape until the If the fuel level rises above a certain level on raised valve cone, the junction point: the pipe 11 closes ver in the air separator.
The fuel further conveyed by the hand pump finally reaches the suction chamber of the injection pump in the same flow direction as the machine is in operation. The air forced upwards when the fuel level rises in the suction chamber cannot flow out to the suction pipe as long as the piston 22 keeps the pipe 20 closed.
The bore 24 in the air outlet forms a constriction. When the hand pump is operated further, the pressure in the suction chamber of the injection pump rises so far that the piston 22 is shifted to the right by this pressure into a position in which the opening of the narrow bore 24 on the slide casing begins to open the hole 25, so that the air begins to flow off via the pipe 20 to the suction pipe 12. Finally, when pumping by hand, a pressure is reached at:
which the piston is in the position shown in Fig. 2, in which the piston: the hole 25 and the connection between the suction chamber and the tube 20 has fully opened and all air can escape from the suction space. If all the air is driven out and by further actuation of the hand pump fuel is pressed into the narrow bore 24 after reaching the bore 24, the counterpressure (opposite to the hand pump opposite to the counterpressure caused by the constriction) increases noticeably, which is a sign of the entire filling of the suction chamber with fuel is.
As can be seen, the piston is also in the final position when there is no fuel pressure in the suction chamber.
During operation of the machine, the feed pumps only push fuel from which air has been removed into the suction chamber of the injection pump. Since the narrow bore 24 opposes considerable resistance to the passage of fuel, the pressure sm suction chamber rises above the pressure @an that can be achieved with the hand pump, whereby the piston 22 is then pushed further to the right into a position
in which the narrow bore is closed by the inner wall of the housing and the pin .des piston rests against the stop.
