Device for removably joining two metal sheets. The present invention relates to a positive device for removably assembling two superimposed thin metal sheets, ca ractérisé by the fact that it comprises an elastic clip in the shape of a hairpin, the two ends of which and the bent part are fixed to the 'one of said sheets, the branches of this clip being arranged on either side of an elongated body and tines to engage in lateral grooves that this elongated body comprises,
provided with a screw head, adapted to pivot through the aforementioned sheets, the whole being carried out so that for a position of the elongated body, the branches of the clip each penetrate into the corresponding groove of the latter and that the metal sheets are joined, and that for another position of the elongated body, the clip is released and the metal sheets made independent.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the device forming the subject of the invention. Fig. 1 is an elevation view thereof. Fig. 2 is a plan view.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view along I-I of FIG. 2.
Fig. 4 is an enlarged sectional view along II-II of FIG. 1, and fig. 5 is an enlarged partial section of an elongated member.
The device shown, intended to removably assemble two superimposed thin metal sheets 1 and 2, comprises a clip 3 intended to engage in grooves that has an elongated body 4. The latter comprises, on the one hand, a cylindrical part 5 provided with a screw head 6 and, on the other hand, an elongated part 7, the cross section of which is generally elliptical in shape; between these two parts the body 4 has two lateral grooves 8 and 9; part 5 is provided with a groove 10 in which a ring 11 is disposed, which bears against one of the faces of the sheet 2, the other face of the latter being pressed by the screw head 6.
The radii of curvature 19 and 20 of part 7 are generally large, so that this part 7 is very elongated.
The clip 3 consists of an elastic thread in the shape of a hairpin and the ends of the branches 12 and 13 of which as well as the bent part 14 are fixed to the sheet 1 by means of the rivets 15, 16 and 17; to the right of these are interposed washers 18 between the sheet 1 and the clip 3; the whole is carried out so that when the branches of the clip are not engaged in the corresponding grooves of the body 4, the axis of the latter is slightly lower than the longitudinal axis of said branches (fig. 5 ) , so that they operate a certain longitudinal traction on the body 4, when the device is engaged.
The assembly of the metal sheets 1 and 2 is carried out by pivoting the body 4 via the groove 21, so that the elastic branches 12 and 13 come into engagement in the grooves 8 respectively 9; the separation of the aforementioned sheets born is obtained by making the elongate body 4 pivot, so as to separate the elastic branches 12 and 13, so that they are no longer engaged in the corresponding grooves; said branches 12 and 13 may move apart due to their elasticity, this elasticity allowing a certain play of the clip 3 around the rivets 14, 16 and 17.
