Verfahren, Blechwände an Körpern zu befestigen und nach diesem Verfahren hergestellter Gegenstand. Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren, Blechwände an Körpern zu befestigen. Zu diesem Zwecke wird der Körper mit einer Rille mit stetig gekrümmtem Querschnitts- umfang, das heisst einem Querschnittsumfang, der keinen Knick aufweist, versehen, die zum Beispiel einen annähernd halbkreisför migen Querschnitt besitzen kann;
Method of attaching sheet metal walls to bodies and object manufactured according to this method. The invention relates to a method of attaching sheet metal walls to bodies. For this purpose, the body is provided with a groove with a continuously curved cross-sectional circumference, that is, a cross-sectional circumference that has no kink, which, for example, can have an approximately semicircular cross-section;
the sheet metal wall is pressed into this groove tangentially to the cross section, the part of the sheet metal wall pressed into the groove, following the groove wall, curling up and resting against it under tension. The body with the groove is not a removable rolling tool, but a workpiece on which the sheet metal sits tightly under tension.
In the accompanying drawings, exemplary embodiments of objects produced by this method are shown. Fig. 1 shows a metal plate 1 in section with a groove 2 with a straight axis into which the sheet metal wall 3 is to be inserted.
For this purpose, the sheet metal wall 3 is pressed between guides 4 in the direction of the arrow tangential to the groove cross-section circumference 5 in the groove. Fig. 2 shows the finished product in section, that is the metal plate 1, in the groove 2 of which a corre sponding part 3a of the sheet metal wall has rolled under the influence of the pressing pressure, where the rolled part under strong tension is immovable and tight the wall of the grooves fits.
The method is particularly advantageous to provide electric hotplates with drip rims made of stainless sheet metal. Until now, these plates were cast with their drip edge from the same material as a single piece, or a drip edge made of sheet metal was also cast in. In the first case, casting stresses occur easily and, during operation, sometimes rusting and also scaling occur; in the second case, perfect pouring and further processing after pouring is difficult and expensive. With the method according to the invention, such a drip edge, for example made of rustproof sheet metal, can be pressed tightly into the groove of a plate or a drip edge that is turned in for example to extend it.
This is also possible retrospectively with hotplates whose drip edges are scaled or rusted during use. 3, 4 and 5 show, for example, how the method according to the invention is used to provide a hotplate with a drip rim made of rustproof sheet metal. Fig. 3 shows the circular electric hotplate in section, Fig. 4 in plan.
It is 6 a hotplate, for example, made of cast iron with a groove 7 turned on its edge; 8 is in the direction of the arrow, so tangential to the cross-sectional circumference of the groove to be pressed in sheet metal wall, which consists of a short Blechzy cylinder made of rustproof material. Fig. 5 shows the hotplate with a pressed-in drip edge in section, with a corresponding part 8a of the sheet metal cylinder has rolled into the groove and rests immovably and tightly against the wall of the groove under strong tension.
According to the present method, it is possible, for example, to lengthen pipes or to provide them with sleeves, to raise the edges of the vessels or to carry out repairs. For example, bodies of practically any shape can be provided with ribs and bodies made of various metals can be added together. The axis of the groove can be circular, oval, rectangular, etc., for example.
