Method for the preparation of m-Dimethogy-m-oay-p-diogy-fuchson. The main patent showed that 3,3 ', 3 "-trirnetboxy-4', 4" -dioxy-fuchsia can be produced in pure crystallized form; m-dimethoxy-m-oxy-p-dioxy-fuchson can also be obtained in an analogous manner.
According to the invention, this product is produced by subjecting the 3,3'-dimethoxy-3 "-4,4 ', 4" - tetraoxy-tri.phenylmetharr to an oxidation. The procedure for this can be such that the oxidation is carried out carried out immediately after the formation of the leuco triphenyl methane, for example by carrying out the preparation of the triphenyl methane derivative in the presence of an oxidizing agent. Organic peroxides, such as benzoyl peroxide, are particularly suitable and advantageous for the oxidation according to the invention To use ethyl acetate or similar esters as solvents in the oxidation.
The product of the process tends to form Additionspro products; For example, it can form addition compounds with acids, bases, numerous metal salts, bisulfites and hydroxyl-containing substances, from which the Fuchson can be easily regenerated. The process product is best separated from the oxidation mixture via its addi tion products with hydrohalic acids.
The product has an antiseptic effect and has proven to be very effective, especially in certain forms of tuberculosis. Examples: 1. 32 g of benzoyl peroxide are dissolved in 400 ems of ethyl acetate and 44 g of 3,3'-dimetboxy-3 "-4,4'-4" -tetraoxy-triphenylmetharr are added. Saturate with hydrochloric acid while cooling with ice and leave to stand for several days with frequent shaking. The chlorohydrate of m-oxy-m-dimetboxy-p-dioxy-fuchsorrs crystallizes out in shiny metallic crystals in a yield of 25-30 g.
Decomposition point at 1800, It dissolves in diluted alcohol with a deep red color, which turns blue due to alkalis. It forms dark blue salts with aluminum hydroxide, zinc oxide, lead acetate etc.
The Fuchson can be isolated not only as a hydrochloride but also as a free base. For this purpose, the separated hydrochloride from the mixture is digested with aqueous sodium acetate solution, suction filtered, washed with water and dried ge. The crystalline Fuchson melts at about 230 °.
2. 5 g of guaiacol and 2.8 g of protocatechualdehyde are dissolved in 20 ems of ethyl acetate containing 11% hydrochloric acid gas and 7.5 g of benzoyl peroxide (active oxygen content 5.2%) are added. The mixture is saturated with hydrochloric acid gas while stirring and cooling. The benzoyl peroxide dissolves after a long time; now you dilute with 60 cm- 'ethyl acetate.
After standing, the m-dimethoxy-m-oxy-p-dioxy-fuchson separates out as chlorine hydrate in dark, shiny metallic crystals. The product is identical to the product described in Example 1.
To prepare the sodium bisulphite addition compound of Fuchson, the free Fuchson is heated to dissolution with the calculated amount of sodium bisulphite in aqueous solution, filtered and freed from the solvent in vacuo. This addition compound dissolves moderately in cold water and the acid gives the solution a deep red color.
The free Fuchson is separated from this addition compound, for example by flooding the addition compound in dilute hydrochloric acid, by boiling the sulfuric acid and removing the hydrochloric acid by adding sodium acetate solution. The product, which is sparingly soluble in water, is obtained by filtering and washing with water and drying. The product of the process is a new compound.
